This is the second time this has happened to me, but looks like my SP saves have been magically deleted, and there is no way to resume from where I ended that last time I played the campaign. I don't have it in me to play through the SP again just to finish the last couple levels, so I think that's it for me with regards to the campaigns! I can't remember exactly where I ended, but it was on a mission where you are in a desert and have 3-4 tasks to complete at different spots across this desert. Does anyone know this mission and can someone tell me what happens in this game after that? It'll be a spoiler, but I really don't care LOL. Thanks!

I never even finished the singleplayer. It was pretty bad.
-
I started playing this game again. Surprisingly I'm enjoying it again, love the 16 player servers, 16 seems perfect for me. After watching all the new BLOPS videos, I really appreciate how awesome BC2 really is compared to the other recent popular online FPS games that have been released.
Gonna play a bit until Vietnam is released. -
I join the club too, Hi everyone!
I hope to see you online frequently
If not so... Starcraft 2

Was on the NBR Teamspeak last night, played with some German player. We won one round lost one round.

Where's the map pack?
-
I thought that was with the last patch?
-
They are releasing Map Pack 7 with a few new maps, here's the link:

People still play this game?
-
I still do...sad.....
-
I just hopped on again. Brings back memories. I may start playing a bit again, until I get ticked off at the numerous bugs again.
-
There's little incentive to fix the bugs given how well buggy games sell. Black Ops is still top on the sales list for Steam even though it is well documented how garbage it is on the PC. BC2's minor issues just seem to disappear when standing next to that game.
This is the way of the future, buggy/crappy games sell better. -
Why? Don't be sad, I play it too constantly every week.
-
Yeah I still play and I can't wait for those new maps to come out.
-
It's a fun game, don't get me wrong. It just seems to irritate people to no end time and again.
-
I'm still playing regularly as well, I've just been able to get used to the bugs/glitches. Might be taking a break though since I just grabbed The Orange Box set off Steam....
-
I'm in your TS, probably will play a few rounds.
-
So it runs well on your M860TU with the P8400 CPU? I ditched my P9800 for the Q9200. I don't regret it entirely, but battery life sucks with a quad is all I can say. lol. One of the deciding factors was BFBC2 to get the quad core because it supposedly ran so much more smoothly. I think it does/did, but didn't they fix it so it runs much better with dual core?

Map Pack 7 is out tomorrow!
Battlefield Blog -
To add to my previous post, you can pre-load the update now and it will be unlocked tomorrow. Just launch the updater and it will download. FYI, it's a pretty lengthy download @ ~2.6 Gb.
Got it figured out though: I'm totally stoked for BC2 Vietnam!
-
It runs decent enough for it to be playable for me, so it ranges from 25-35fps which seems fine to me. The eye candy is turned way down, but I'm not too picky with that. I've always gone for performance over crazy graphics. I can only imagine what it'll play like when I upgrade my 2Gb of RAM....
-
Yeah the 2GB might be holding you back more than anything. There's G.Skill 8GB kit (2x4GB) for $99 and free shipping at newegg. I picked it up for $89 when it went on sale. I should get it tomorrow. Not a bad deal for 8GB if you're interested.

Thanks for the heads up, that's a great deal! I didn't know RAM was that cheap these days. I believe I'm going to have to upgrade my BIOS before I upgrade RAM, so once I figure that one out this looks like what I'll be doing
-
To me it just seems that some people aren't very enthusiastic about the huge maps and the random explosions going off everywhere.. Kind of weird? Most people that I know of complain about the pace of the game rather than the game itself. I prefer battlefield games, but it seems like others prefer Call of Duty for its pace and simple maps.

The problem with the maps in BC2, is, while they are very large, only small portions of the maps are usable at any one time.
Also, there are too many choke-points in BC2 maps which pretty much means the enemy is only going to be coming from only one direction.
While BC2 is infinitely better than CoD, it's nowhere near BF2 status. -
I blame consoles for that.
And finding out BF3 will be cross platform also. I have zero faith in BF3 and believe there will be little to no difference between BC2 and BF3.
Should be noted that the first version of the engine, Frostbite 1.0, was designed ONLY for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
Just like BC2. the engine itself is a console port. DICE is disappointing. -
I haven't had much to complain about with BC2 with the latest patch. It seems to be pretty good.
Not as many hackers either now that the hackers probably got bored. I still see a few like when I see someone with a M1 iron sights and sniping people at a distance when even with 4x scope, person is a spec. There are still hackers who use the see through wall etc, but it's not as prevalent. Maybe only one on a server once in a while.
But now that Vietnam is coming. All assault/engineer/medic guns will use Iron Sights. New guns, new vehicles, obviously new maps. Hopefully sniping will also be more difficult since everyone else are using iron sights.
I'm psyched.
Anyone else planning to play? -
I'll get it, good refreshing change.
-
I'll be buying it as well.
-
I reinstalled BC2 last night after a few months of not playing due to general lag and bugs...I wanted to try the new maps, and I've gotten fed up with Black Ops.
I was actually quite impressed; the game seemed to run significantly smoother than the last time I remember playing it, and I had quite a bit of fun. I ended up pre-ordering Vietnam, since I think I'll be able to enjoy it now. I can't wait to tie on my bandanna, put on some aviator shades, light up a cigar and go to town on some Charlies with an M60.
-
I'm going waaaaayyyy off topic here, but this is really one of the only threads I follow consistently. Thought you guys might enjoy this story, cheers!

I just read this, LOOOL so epic, hahaha, very nice to read.

FAKE! <tenchars>

Alright, I know I'm late to the party (very late), but because I wanted to play Vietnam, I finally end up getting BFBC2. I just finished playing my first 1.5 hour...
The game is fantastic
Can't wait for Vietnam! -
I dont know what you mean but i exclusively use the M1 and i can hit people across the map easy. Its not hacking, the 30-06 round is more than capable of doing it and it is realistic. Most sniper rifles are chambered in what? 7.62x51 or equivalent. I have a Trijocon 4x32 TA31RCOA4 on my AR15, and it does not neccesarily make it more accurate than a rifle with iron sights.
I am so good with the M1 that some people think im hacking, but its just that i know how to use iron sights and know how to use rifles. I feel that i how more flexibility and options with the M1 than a full auto weapons and i like to hit what i point at. -

I've been playing a lot of Oasis Conquest lately, it's so much fun. The map is big and there are a lot of areas to flank through and buildings to move through as well.
Almost feels like Karkand from BF2 but with a destructible environment added in for good measure!
Although Saiga spam is getting out of hand... -
Yea it feel like that to me too, its like the spiritual sequel to it. Also, these new maps feel more like a BF2 maps with wide open settings and close quarter combat with buildings stacked right next to each other. I like these maps!
-
Yeah the new maps make me feel like I am playing BF2 but the crazy thing is Oasis and harvest day are console maps.
-
From what I read, the new maps are all based on maps from the original Bad Company, a console exclusive.
-
"oasis" and "harvest day" are from the original bad company but "cold war" and "heavy metal" are new maps.
-

I also felt that the new (old) maps felt more like BF2 and possibly provided a little insight into what BF3 will be like.
The maps are just a lot bigger and a lot less linear. -
Well I've been playing a bit more on the 360 (the new maps made me want to play it), and it's still a really fun game. It's a nice change of pace from Black Ops.
One funny moment I had tonight was I ran into the stupidest level 50 ever. Him, including like 2 other 50's (I don't think they where in a party) decided to all sit in their base and snipe on Atacama Desert.
No one was going for the objective (this is Rush), except some poor level 43 and 22. The funny part was, the 50 decides to t-bag me after he gets a kill. I of course send him a message explaining that he is a moron, and needs to learn how to play an objective based game, and learn how to play the sniper class.
After a few messages back and forth, he decided to leave after the game is over (probably because it was a small map not suited well for sniping, and that I would of walked all over him). It was still major lulz. -
haha nice one, I'd love to hear the unedited version! In my case, the only badge I have left is the 100 Marksman Headshot kills (currently at 94), so I have been (unfortunately) playing as a distance sniper for the last little bit. If my team is all snipers though, I'll switch to assault and smoke them out just to screw with them.... I really grinds my gears when, on a map like Arica, the Russians hold all points and are camping C, and the US is ALL snipers sitting up on the hills by the base
<--Rage Face
-
Haha I do the same thing. If my team is all snipers not going for the objective I just spam smoke around them to try and make them move.
