See if this tickles your fancy. In my opinion its the most highly equipped laptop for the money.
Also BC2 supports DX11 for a few extra performance enhancements so that makes it even better. I was running 6004x1200 All max with AA off today on a single desktop 5870 and the game played great (and looked great)

My 5850 + Phenom II x4 kills it, which is a nice plus from running it on my low profile desktop with a 5570 and a dual core. It's funny how CPU dependent the game is, as lowering the graphics settings hardly improves performance on my dual core machine, but even when lower textures are enabled, the textures don't look any different. I really wonder how the game would do with an Athlon II x4 or Phenom II x4 paired with my 5570. -
I wouldn't be so sure, possibly on single player mode, online seems to be more demanding (the more players the lower fps), i am running a core2duo 2.4ghz and a gtx260m on medium settings, online and frames are around 30-40fps
I have done a fair bit of research and it seems the game is a little cpu dependent, so yeah with a 3ghz you may get similar frames on high as i get on medium -
Asus G73, G860, G870 with the i7-820QM CPU or i7-720QM CPU and the GTX 285M or HD5870 will play BFBC2 on all high settings, HBAO enabled at native resolution. Your frames will almost double with DX9 instead of using DX10 and you will be able to use DX11 with the HD5870. Depending on settings and whether your resolution is full HD or not, you will get anywhere from lows of 30 fps, to highs of 45+ fps. Dx9 brings fps up to the 50-60+ fps.
I have only played Single Player though so bare that in mind. Up to 32 players Multiplayer is where the CPU dependency comes into play more.

The G73 runs Bad Company 2 well with these settings.
1920*1080 resolution
Everything high
Turn shadow to medium
Turn off V-Sync and that HBAO or whatever fuzzy bloom like junk off.
Then there is no absolutely no stuttering hiccups and your framerate stays above 43 with a high of 67 (for me at least). Average is around low 50s. -
Asus G73 will be your best bet... you have to order online from xoticpc.com or gentechpc.com or some online US retailer... it will cost you about 1200 pounds to ship and there will be around a 200 pounds custom duty.. alternatively , u can get the Sager NP8690 or 8790 but they'll cost more although they will come more quickly... if u really want it immediately , u can get it on ebay for 1750 pounds and its shipped to u next day... but u'd most likely want to get it from the online retailer...
Bad Company 2 performance?
