Hmm... I don't have such a file in the RTSS Profiles folder. Maybe that is part of the problem if there should be one and there is not.
Since the game is such a terrible mess, disabling NVIDIA Crapworks is probably a good idea anyway.
Thanks for the tip. I will check on my other systems to see if that file exists and if it does I will create one just like it on the systems that do not have it.

Another option is try something like 45 instead of 30... mine is totally steady on all maxed except gameworks off at 45, and I only have a 970m.
No idea if it matters, but I'm running game off SSD and have no stutters and consistent framerates with settings mentioned above. -

I actually watched the original one with english subtitles some time ago. It was something about how he didn't have a job and he finally got this job at some restaurant washing dishes. Just a quick follow up... got another couple hours in, really enjoying the game. Currently at 4.1 hours and only "4%" through game. I'm bouncing between this, Witcher 3 (28hrs in), and Kerbal Space Program (103hrs over last couple years ha) due to my random moods of games, but Batman AK is a really good game hidden under the reported bugs. I've been lucky, and mine is stable and enjoyable with a solid framerate and no crashes, but you can tell they actually spent a good deal of effort on the game itself, PC port side of things aside.
If you enjoyed the previous games, you'll love this one. Totally unacceptable for the problems many are having, but it's not across the board. -
that post the WB community mod said doesn't make sense? how does the recommended specs for PC = PS4 /XB1? even my AW17 is more powerful than the PS4 but they're saying no it isn't!

Well, as hard as it is to believe, Warner Brothers has actually halted the sales of the game. I don't ever recall this happening. If nothing else, I give them some credit, even if it is nothing more than damage control.
I just checked when not logged in, game cannot currently be purchased! Wow...... -

Wow. Just wow. I think Steam is likely a large reason for this with their refunds. About damn time. Users finally get buyer protection, which we should have had all the time, and it will actually not allow games to get released that are borked. Go figure.
Although for users looking to buy this game, it's no longer available for sale, and based on this on the Steam page of Arkham Knight, it may be a few months until it is available again. Fall 2015 = late September at earliest.

What is the likelihood that the fullscreen mode will still be completely broken when it gets re-released? I have not got much hope.
They don't care about laptop users. No one does. Not one single games media outlet has covered the fact that fullscreen is totally broken on Optimus laptops. No media coverage at all.
Fullscreen mode. The most basic of video game functionality. Utterly broken in a AAA game in 2015 for millions of users. Disgraceful.

There was a fix for the Need for Speed Rivals 30 FPS cap which involved creating a shortcut to the game which forced the target to run at 60 FPS. The fix sets the cap to 60 without speeding it up, but there was a catch - If you dropped below 60, the game would run slower (e.g. it would run at 0.75x speed at 45 FPS, 0.5x at 30 FPS).
First, create a shortcut, then enter this in the target application field:
"gamepath" -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+
Where gamepath (keep the quotes) is replaced with the path to the NFS 14 executable (e.g. "C:\Program Files\NFS Rivals/NFS14.exe"). You guys may want to try to edit the command to allow 40 FPS or 50 etc. -
This isn't accurate, this was already on the page for those systems even before and during the Windows launch. Windows versions will be available much sooner I'm sure for sale again once they patch the biggest problems.
Ironically, I'm enjoying the hell out of the game, so with a patch or two most others will too... but I give them props for the aggressive response, even if it was just for damage control. The game deserves better.
EDIT: From Steam Store page: Sales of Batman: Arkham Knight have been temporarily suspended while Warner Brothers works to address performance issues.Last edited: Jun 25, 2015 -
For what it's worth, I'm loving the game with my FPS set to 45 in the ini. It's rock steady and only on a very rare occasion of pure chaos has dropped to 36-39, but 99% it's right on 45. While those that must have 60 or die won't be happy, those that just want a solid game experience will be very pleased.
-
i'd be happy with 30fps though the missing high res textures, rain effects, and AO: basic stuff for a 2015 game should have.

You might get
Ive played about 7% now and I get a steady 60 fps with minor drops in frames very rarely so I'm very lucky. Ive also really enjoyed the game, love the Batmobile but especially love the fear attacks and the use of environment during battle. This game really makes you feel like the Batman, a very very badass version of him.
It is such a shame that the Port has crappy textures and a lack of options, they could have made GOTY and ended this epic saga with a bang but instead, it seems this has ended in the most unexpected way imaginable.
I will definitely continue playing though. Ive also reinstalled Arkham City and Asylum and will be playing those again too. Rocksteady have done the most illogical thing by getting a third party to port it, particularly given their track record. What a shame, and by the time the game is back on sale, the damage would have already been done, Rockunsteadys track record will be tarnished and the excitement for this release will be gone. They have missed their moment now and many people will simply not buy it again.
All of this makes me have even more respect for the Witcher 3 and GTA V. -
You should be able to get more than 30 fps, I was getting 30 - 40 fps on a GTX 680M. -

not having high res textures is probably the biggest thing putting me off. Not even the frame rate drops. I played city and origins on wii u. it was locked at 30 fps and dropped into the teens a lot and i never minded. but the whole reason i wanted to get this game on pc vs my ps4 was for better textures, effects, and other features. i wanted there to be a huge graphics difference when put side by side.Kade Storm and Mr. Fox like this.

It looks like I was wrong. On more testing after I got further into the game. Everything is fine until I do a lot of driving with the Batmobile. As soon as I do that the frame rate drops 5-10 fps and freezes for about 5+ seconds. Previously I had only tested it out with gliding and combat around the city.
This never happens on my mini Itx so I suspect it could be to do with the streaming of textures on the hard drive. It's possible that my SSD makes up for some of their bad programming. Either way, the port is broken, I'm just lucky to be able to play it without any of those problems on my itx. -

I haven't entered the Batmobile yet. I'm scared to try it! Though the game is installed on a Samsung 840 Pro so I hope that will help.
I still need to complete my Dark Souls, Dark Souls II SOTFS & The Witcher 3 play through so at least I have plenty to keep me entertained whilst this game gets patched. I also haven't completed the previous two Rocksteady Arkham games so this is prime opportunity to finish those games too!
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk -
I wouldn't even touch this game if I hadn't already completed the previous titles. If the stuttering and pause issues were due to the streaming problem, then your SSD might just help. On my laptop there was a stutter as soon as I called the Batmobile but that does not exist on my itx. Mine plays like the video TotalBiscuit did. -
For all of the Clevo owners with SLI systems that have been commenting about having to reboot to change SLI settings, the solution is simple. I learned this from @johnksss several years ago. If you do the SLI-on-the-fly mod you'll never have to restart for this again. It is super easy to do through an INF mod before installing new drivers, or through a simple registry tweak without reinstalling drivers. I haven't restarted Windows for SLI changes since probably 580M SLI days. I really don't understand what NVIDIA's rationale is for this. There is no reason that I can identify that NVIDIA doesn't change this in their driver INF files so we don't have to.
Simply open the driver INF that applies to your system using Notepad and change all the zeros for RmDynamicSLIAllowed to a 1 and when the driver installation is finished, you reboot and then you can turn SLI on/off without rebooting. You can use the "Replace All" button in Notepad to do it with one mouse click. You can also use Regedit and find all of those keys (I think around 12 or 14 keys, may vary by system). Just use the Find feature, change the DWORD, then F3 to advanced to the next key. After you change the DWORD from 0 to 1 for all of those keys, reboot and you're done. This registry tweak is not persistent across driver installations/re-installations, so doing the INF mod before installing drivers is the easiest approach. (The stock INF code will change them all back to zeros in the registry unless you mod the INF to make them all ones first.)
INF Mod Method (before installing drivers)
Registry Mod Method (for existing drivers)
@Ethrem @D2 Ultima @Takaezo < I know you guys would be interested in this. Most of the SLI Alienware owners already know this, but it appears you guys never saw any of the posts where I explained how to do it.
Warning to Windows 8 and newer users. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement (DSE) before installing the driver or the installation will fail because the INF mod breaks the worthless signature. After installing the driver and rebooting, the DSE cancer will be re-enabled. (Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently disable this driver signature cancer in Windows 8 or newer OSes.)
Run the syntax below from an Administrator command prompt and you can use F8 to get the pre-logon Legacy Boot menu like Windows 7. This also makes it easy to access Safe Mode (like Windows 7) on Windows 8 and newer. Both of these tweaks will make life much easier. No need to fuss with the stupid Charms bar and going in and out of Windows nonsense the standard (messed up) Windows 8 way.
Code:bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacyTakaezo and Mr Najsman like this. -
Yeah, it's the fact that I need to do a reboot anyway that just annoys me. I usually have little reason to turn it on/off, but since you don't need to close various programs to dedicate a card to PhysX, I might still end up taking the restart, just for that. Or more likely I'll install it then modify the data in windows normally; I believe you had a way to do that as well (though this one I don't remember). I'll bookmark this anyway in case I ever need it though.
-
Well, just one initial reboot so the changes take effect in Windows for the first very time is certainly better than a reboot every time you make a change.

Works fine with @Mr. Fox and his UE3 patch. Game won't use SLI but these card from 7xx up can run just fine.. I made the mistake of GTA V for PS4... Started the game (after the 44GB download) and its 66% installed now... Its 1:14AM and I started it at 10:04. First game that actually ever has needed to "install" on my PS4... Would have gotten it for PC but I wanted to play with my sis. Needless to say she went to bed and I'm hitting the vodka wishing it would finish.
Such a fail...
Seriously use Inspector to delete the AK profile and open up the UE3 profile and attach the AK EXE to it... Runs flawlessly... On one card anyway... But keep in mind the weakness of current gen consoles...Mr. Fox likes this. -

Arkham Knight is on 1080p, max "normal" settings, all Gameworks off, fps cap on 90 fps in .ini.
I might be one of the lucky ones that can run this without any hickups though I agree with Mr.Fox that we shouldn´t have to disable settings to have games running at all.
I actually haven´t tested with any Gamework-settings enabled, will do that next time. -
How bizarre, I have 980M too. But I get drops that can go all the way down to ~30fps from 60fps just gliding around as Batman, haven't even tried the Batmobile yet.
Turning GameWorks off had a completely negligible impact on the performance on my system funnily enough, so I've kept them enabled.
