I took advantage of the Steam deal and got a full refund for this game. For my it was the first time playing this title, it just was to much trouble. I literally stopped playing it replayed GTA 5, then played Witcher3. It was fun when it worked.

If you will want to play a Batman game in the future, I recommend you try Batman Arkham City. It's one of my personal favourites. I sank in it quite a few hours as well. -
And when the whole world talked about pre-ordering Arkham Knight because it was "Rocksteady" and "An Arkham game" I looked at them all and I said "you have no idea what the game looks like nor plays like; I have no expectations". And everybody who pre-ordered basically cried a river after launch if they were on PC.killkenny1, Ethrem and TomJGX like this.

Well I guess I'm going to have to pick this one up for the PS4 and just call my PC copy a waste... What a mess.

So true.
I remember I was also hyped about Arkham Tank Simulator. I mean, c'mon, it was made by Rocksteady, the guys who gave us AA and AC! But somehow deep down inside I had a feeling that it would turn out sour. AA and AC were really good games, especially AC. It was basically what AC II was to AC I, AC took everything good what AA had and made it better in everyway. And then AO happened... It failed to bring anything noteworthy to the series. Unfortunately just a new detective mode feature wasn't enough. It wasn't bad, but for me it felt completely unnecessary. And now we have AK. From what I heard even if we put technical issues aside it still isn't the Batman game (and "trilogy" ending) we all deserved.
I don't know about you, guys, but for me 2015 felt like a year with way too overhyped AAA games. Sure we had ACU and WD before, but this year it felt like an entirely new level.
Overhyped AK, overhyped GTA V, overhyped MGS V, TW3, Fallout 4, Battlesomething, etc.. And in the end only few managed to deliver, for me at least... Luckily there were quite a few nice surprises as well - Cities Skylines, Pillars Of Eternity, Mad Max, to name a few. -
You forgot about Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefield Hardline. Both are 2015 titles. And of course Black Ops 3. I don't allow myself to get hyped for most games anymore. The only one I really want to come out soon is Dark Souls 3. Everything else is "meh" to me. I know it's going to be buggy. I know it's going to be broken. I know it's going to run like crap. And even Mad Max which people loved and had running so amazingly? It still had issues getting stuck at 40Hz for many people. How do these bugs pass QA? How do people release these things? People say PC gamers are so entitled and entitled and entitled and whatever but let's be honest... most of the time, our games both don't work AND also run far worse than they should, often for months after launch. Dying Light literally got patched about six times and suddenly decided to run 3x better than before. THREE TIMES. I'M NOT EVEN JOKING. I was getting as low as 27fps on max near launch at some points. Now? I haven't seen under 80, and I average over 100.

Last two games don't even deserve to be mentioned by their name
And wow, Hardline come out in 2015... Feels like it came out last year.
I don't know about Mad Max performance issues, didn't experience any except sound bugs and awkward menu navigation, but it was a very pleasant game to play. Truth be told, it's quite a mediocre game, but it being a sort of underdog made it surprisingly pleasant gameplay wise for me. -
I didn't say it had performance issues, I said it kept getting locked to 40Hz refresh rate for people.
Dying Light was the one with performance issues.killkenny1 likes this. -

Oh, don't get me wrong, I didn't pre-order it. Nor did I tell others to. I stand firmly against pre-ordering games in general. I haven't even bought it yet. However, I definitely had expectations, and I believe I was justified in this case. This isn't Activision or EA or Ubisoft. We had Asylum and City; the community had every right to have high expectations. It fuels the right amount of outrage that resulted from the game being so poorly optimized. We want good games, and sometimes that means getting mad at morons when they give us crap like this.
Arkham Origins was actually the best game in the series, IMHO. Yeah I'm pissed at WB for the bugs, but the raw game was better than the other two. The story just makes it come out on top for me, as it was much more cinematic (in the good way) and interesting than that of the first two.
Wait, whaaaa? Oh. I legit forgot that that game even existed. Does anyone actually play it? -
Not on PC. I checked out the MP a while back and it was a graveyard.
-
I can't name a single console friend who plays it either...
-
Yeah, I hate the idea of pre-ordering, especially with how games are.
Returns are nice and all, but it sends a more powerful message when people review a game that is buggy or performs badly and people don't buy as a result.
I know the community had all the right to an outrage, but honestly? Not the people who pre-ordered and then complained it was so bad. Should have waited for reviews. -
Not that I was planning to pick this one up for more than $5 anyways, but really???? I might as well not even look twice, no way is this horror story going to run on one 755m.
-
Honestly sometimes the bonuses that come with pre-ordering justify doing so but I try not to pre-order things these days...
-
Just curious, why did you sidegrade from a Y400 to Y410p? My OCed 650M SLI beats stock 755M SLI and runs cooler to boot, but I ditched the Y500 and went single 980M a while ago precisely because SLI was going down the drain.
-
'
Oh that's easy, 900p.
While I lived with the y400 and 1366x768 for a long time, it's an absolutely horrid resolution. I fried my y400 motherboard trying to install a 900p screen on it (RIP 2013-2015) and the y410p was $360 mint condition while being compatible with all my accessories. It just made since.
Upgrading to a 970m or better system would be nice, but I'm not really big on newer games anyways. The newest game I own is probably Tomb Raider? New games like The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 that I'm interested in can wait. Their prequels come first, along with the rest of my huge backlog I really want to play haha -
Yeah there's some times when it makes some sense... like Bioshock Infinite I pre-ordered because I got a game. Payday 2 was because regardless of how it ran, AND after playing the beta/demo period, we decided it was good enough. And it was as we expected. But just a game? No matter what you get in-game, it's just... not worth it anymore.
-
Honestly it's getting to the point where it's not worth buying games on release either. My laptop is pretty close to becoming a 5200 dollar emulation machine.TomJGX likes this.

Yeah, I know. It's the same thing I've been saying. I don't care if someone needs to delay a game so it works well on release... but actually have it work well on release why don't you? Otherwise your delay is pointless.

a single card can push 30fps and that's fine with me....and unfortunately i can't refund my copy since i bought it at retail and in order to return it unconditionally i would need to return the discs and case: something i threw out ages ago.
at 30fps it is quite playable for me and i think that was the target framerate. personally i think the PC version will suffer in sales and even if they release a GOTY it might just be for consoles only. -
Wait... 30 on a 980M?! I was getting better than that from the first release!
-

Maybe he locked them on 30 so that he wouldn't get any variable frame rates. Something that I've done myself in TW3.hmscott likes this. -

it's too grey to say that you must play it at 60fps on a pc....one must understand the limits of their hardware before pushing for 60fps. i max everything out but cap it at 30fps because that's how i like to balance everything.
EDIT: if you have the power to do 60fps+ then go for it but it also depends on personal preference and genre. so for 3rd person games i don't mind it being in 30fps but shooters is 60fps with 30fps being a last resort (i played dying light at 30fps on a 780m but can play it at 60fps with a 980m). saying that you must play at 60fps is BS because it's not always possible as it can also be due to how well optimized the game is.Last edited: Nov 23, 2015Ethrem, hmscott and killkenny1 like this. -
It is clear that, in the midst of all the #pcmasterrace BS and tropes, people have forgotten why PC is better and it's not just about raw computing power but the ability to control the experience...something you can't do with consoles.

At least consoles come with a guarantee. No console will perform any differently in the same scene. You can't say that about PC.
-
Although most PC's will perform at minimum FPS what those consoles will perform "the same" as their fixed FPS. Just sayin'.
-
that's what i mean by game optimization.
PC is just a more open and powerful console that lets you do other things. it's MS' second gaming platform...HAHA -
new 1.7gb patch just dropped!

will buy it when it's 5$ or may be 7 !

It looks like most prices are still over $20+ with much higher offers. There is 1 community offer right now priced at $10.52
The Season pass is also about $10+ with higher offers.sasuke256 likes this. -

So I bought the game on sale, and it's laggy on my poor 970M, 3gigs only of VRAM anyway, but still laggy on medium texture, shadows med, everything else maxed, AA on, AF on, dynamic lights/ nvidia rain on.. barely 30fps, running on 7200rpm storage drive..god..
-
You should be getting much better than that. Make sure Gameworks is OFF.sasuke256 and Robbo99999 like this.

Just turn off NVidia Game Works Paper Debris & Fog - keep Enhanced Rain & Light Shafts active though as they don't consume much. You should be able to max pretty much everything else. And then considering lowering Shadows if you want more performance, I don't think Shadows on Low makes it look bad at all. -
That's what i did, i kept only the rain and the lightshafts..
Today i will crank e.thing to high and shadows to low and see how it reacts
the game itself seems as cool as the arkham city/asylum
-
Robbo99999 Notebook Prophet
Well, if you're running at 1080p you should have no problems running this game with Enhanced Rain & Light Shafts - that's how I run it on my ancient overclocked 670MX and I get around 40fps average I would say during gaming (and a 48fps average in the benchmark). I run Shadows Low, Detail Normal, Textures Maxed - you should be able run High Shadows & Detail no problem.
EDIT: You might want to monitor you CPU & GPU load & clocks while gaming to see what's going on when you get the low fps. -
Sure will do that tonight
-
nope cos it just ruin's the mood the game is trying to depict.
-
Man its 60fps in the sky, still didnt tryed the batmobile mode, but when i crancked up everything to max, i got 60fps
