After raising my X1600's core speed by 50 Mhz and the memory by 30 Mhz... i am able to max everything out. The AA is x6, the resolution is topped, all the lights, terrains, geometries and effects are set to High. There is no lag and the game works above 25Fps even while im flying in a plane.
Who said that X1600 512 HyperMemory sux?!?!??! :D

Well, due to my silly connection at this schoo, i never go to servers with more than 32 people.
In single player, i use the mod for the 64-player sized maps and have 60 bots playing with me at all times. Works like a charm...

If my setup runs it this nicely, you're, with the same config, would run it a little nicer, and a lot cooler.

Thats about what you should get. On its desktop counterpart, the GeForce 6600 performs very similarly.

Hi i was just wondering why my laptop keeps turning off and displaying the blue screen of death when i play BF2 for longer than 25 minutes, i have an alienware and they arnt being very helpful about it, i read that it might be overheating, it does get very very hot and could i do anything to cool it down while i use it or something like that? I havnt patched it yet because i am using a proxy server so i cant download too much but will that improve the game?

I have an intel pentium 4 2.77 ghz and ati radeon mobility 9000 128mb with 1 gb of ram  Thanks!!

Sounds like you're overheating - Pentium 4-based notebooks get very warm. I would suggest getting a can of air and blowing out your vents, and also get a cooling pad. I recommend the Spire Pacific Breeze, it's only about $15 from Newegg.com. It will help a lot.

    Pentium M 1.7Ghz
    1gig DDR2 Ram
    Geforce 6400 Turbo cache (64+64)

Can run BF2 at 1024x768, view distance 100%, settings on medium and some low, about 35-60 frames a second.

    i just got a E1505 and i have BF2 running quite nice:

    t2500
    1gb ram
    x1400
    60gb sata
    xp mce

it seems to run at alot higher settings in single player (smaller maps and less action), i had alot of stutter issues until i installed the omega drivers. now i run at a mix of lows and meds and the game still looks fantastic on the monitor.

i must admit, i think i should have just went for the m1210 but i think i saved $500 with the E1505

I apologize for having to "revive" this topic, but I will be getting a new notebook soon and was wondering if this could run Battlefield 2. It is an HP in the dv6000z series. I have looked at the System Requirements page on the Battlefield 2 website, however I am not sure if everything is supported. Also, no information on what sound card the dv6000z series of HP notebooks has.

    - Genuine Windows XP Home Edition
    - AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Mobile TL-52 (1.60GHz/512KB)
    - 15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)
    - 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7200
    - 1.0GB DDR2 SDRAM (2x512MB)
    - 100 GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
    - Super Multi 8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support

I know better than to expect that this will run Battlefield 2 on the highest settings, but I hope it will be able to at least run it.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Eh, its iffy, the 7200 doesnt have alot of power under the hood, and im worried about the processor more. It would probably run fine, but if you ever had a problem and needed support you would be screwed, the minimum specs are like 1.7ghz and even if your computer runs it fine they will tell you thats your problem and not help you at all. You could possibly get away with low low settings, but its do-able.

So does that mean everything will be compatible and can work, just with the lowest settings? I can work with that, as long as it can run Battlefield 2 okay. I tried installing on my old desktop, but lo and behold, my video card was not compatible. I was also worried about the processor, but I see that others with around 1.6 GHz were able to get it running, so I was not entirely sure.

I can't say you can run it for sure, but I will say that it is more than likely you will have no problems running it on low settings. Anyway, what are you paying for this notebook? There are alot of cheap cheap laptops out there that could take on bf2 much easier. Eh, it should run bf2, but I can't gaurentee high frame rates even at low settings, but then again I could be underestimating the power of that card (and your processor) and you might get playable frame rates easily. Its hard to say, but I'm curious to see what you have to say about looking at other laptops.

I already have the model ordered. The notebook is primarily for work, with a side of games. I was just hoping I might be able to play Battlefield 2 with it.

If need be, I could pay an extra $50 for the TL-56 (1.8 GHz) processor, but I would rather stay with the current configuration. The whole setup already costs $1,162.

What I want to avoid is buying another copy of Battlefield 2 for yet another $50, only for it to not even work. I know you are not guaranteeing that it will work or anything, I would just like opinions.

It should run BF2, considering that the game runs on an integrated X200M. And the processor will be just fine. Make sure you get one of the Turion X2's that has 2x 512k cache.

Yeah, it will run, I was just worried about him not getting playable frame rates. I didn't realize it was an X2, hmm, I need to read the fine print more often.

Thank you very much for the help.

Before I go out and buy the game, should I try running the demo? Does the demo have the same system requirements (and same demands on the system) as the full game? I know that in multiplayer, depending on the number of people in the server, my processor might not do as well as it did in the demo, though.
Just hoping the demo might give me an idea of how it will run...

    Thanks again.

    Hey Fusion.

I have almost the same HP notebook, the dv6000, but with:

    AMD Turion X2 TL-56
    2GB of DDR2 RAM
    120GB Hard Drive

I have the same GeForce Go 7200, and Battlefield 2 runs pretty sweet at 1024x768 with all details set to high. I use this laptop to play on my LAN here at my home, or on the internet. It works great!

    See ya!

Oh yeah, the only graphical glitch I have, is with the ground when you're using an external view, or climbing a ladder, and looking around.

Apparently there's some new Omega drivers that will work for this 7200 Go, so I'm going to try those out.

    thanks...

*edit* hmm...i tried running everything to high on BF2 using 1600*1200 res and setting AAx4 and every detail to high but i get alot of hiccups and lag......is this normal for such a powerful GPU as the 7900GS?

If you look back at my setup, I have the AMD dual-core 1.61 GHz CPU and the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200. Providing that the multiplayer demo has the same requirements as the full game, I was able to run Battlefield 2 on 1024x768 @ 60 Hertz, with most video settings on medium. It looked nice and, for the most part, ran smoothly. Needless to say, I was happy with the results. :)

The GPU is not your bottleneck, your RAM is. Battlefield 2 demands 2GB of RAM to run without hiccups if you enable the highest resolution textures.

Yeah, for BF2 2gb of RAM is best.

The GPU matters, but a 7300, X1300 and up should handle BF2 fine with 2gigs of RAM.

But once my new e1750 comes it will be time for me to get some games!
So I was just wonder who well BF2 will work on it...

5672 and with all the eye candy. The big issue with bf2 is the need for over 1gb of ram. It is essential that you have atleast 1.5gb, as the ram usage is at .9gb-1.3gb when playing.

Yay! Another half-ass patch that will do nothing but ruin more of the gameplay. :)

Dos anybodyknow how do I do to run the game in a higher resolution than 1024x768?

I was reading about command lines and so on but could't put it to work on my notebook (P105-S9312) with 1440x900.

    =(
