I get this too. Using IE 9.
Just uninstalled chrome as battlelog was so laggy couldnt scroll the page. Don't remember if it was working there or not.
IE is handling battlelog much better but no regions in filter.
From the assistance of the "joke" US forums.
Load battlelog, hit F5 to refresh, then region is available.
Works for me...

Try looking for servers that didn't saturate their boxes or any server isn't using a shared service or resold.
ie Those who paid ~150+ a month for full box access (remote desktop with kmv+power over ip) and access to ranked server files. -
thanks
it work now -
Anyone try playing this with two 4870m? I played it way back during the beta and remember it running fine, a friend just got me the game and now it runs terribly. After about 5 mins of playing I get horrible fps drops. GPU-Z says that it is using 1.5gb of vram on all low settings! Even with the lowest resolution it uses 900mb, thats kind of ridiculous.
EDIT: It seems the game is doubling my vram when I use crossfire, it thinks I have 2gb when I still have one... -
Does anyone still party up for some games? Since summer is here, I can play BF3 more often.
-
You can add me for some games. I usually play evenings to late night.

if you want to disable Origin's annoying startup ad popups about the current games and sales, open %AppData%\Roaming\Origin\Settings.xml and edit the key PromoBrowserOriginStartedLastShown, with the new value being 9999999 (that is seven 9's):
note that i had to remove "<" and "/>" from the beginning and the end of the above string; with them, somehow the editor would eat the whole string! -
You might ask me but i dont know if i can go online though.
(Timezone differences buuu)
Also did a livestream with BF3 to check how my i7 2720QM performs under load and it came out quite nicely.
Not sure if i experienced that much of lag / rubberbanding but see for yourself.
Part 1 & Part 2.
Long time since i played BF3 and yes i am one of the suckers who bought BF3 Premium, thus preordering the next batch of DLC. -
I only bought the Premium package cause my friend bought and I didn't want to fall behind.
I do however, regret the purchase. Half of the "new" Close Quarter weapons are basically recycled versions of the previous weapons.
AUG A3 = Recycled from Battlefield: Bad Company 2
L86A2 = Recycled and slightly modified L85A2/SA80
M417 = Recycled M27/M416 with recycled Scar irons
Scar-L = Recycled Scar-H with slight modifications
I also love the fact that I'm walking advertisement with a new "Premium" tag beside my name and a new orange "Premium" knife that stands out.
EA/DICE never fail to surprise me with new levels of shamelessness, but it's a corporate world and we're the consumers right? -

I am seriously bitter about the whole "Premium Server Queue Preference" thing you get with Premium...I'm not buying it.
-
Only reason why I'm considering Premium is because I would like the new maps. I can care less about the weapons; AN-94 assault and M4 Engy get the job done for me. If not that, then I run the DAO-12.
I do, however, detest the Premium box that shows up on the killcam. Too much commercialization. Lemme guess, Premium members will also get Battlecorder support when it drops, right? -

The way I look at it $50 for the original game and it has been my main game for 7 months.
Another $50 for another 20 maps ( 16 if you pre-ordered ) and will keep me interested for another 6 months.
Wish it was free but at least it's not $40 for the game and $15 month like WOW. -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
I don't mind paying for the maps, the problem comes with the overdone Premium branding and the way they seem to cutting out non-Premium players from features they paid for when they bought the game.
For instance, Premium players now get preference when in server queues over non-Premium players. Some servers also kick non-Premium players even when playing non-Premium maps. Community segregation at its finest. -
I see both points of view. I've played almost nothing else since BF3 was released. And I play a LOT with my clan...they'll be playing with the new maps and such and I didn't want to miss out. I also can spend that much on coffee in a month, so money isn't an issue. As much as I've been playing it, that amount is pretty much chump change.
The Premium branding does suck. I already know I'm a Premium member so I don't need to be reminded constantly. Also usapatriot is correct about isolating non-Premium players...it's wrong. And I didn't want to face the issue of not being able to join a server that my clan is playing on (when not playing on ours) because I didn't have the Premium maps or wasn't a Premium member.
Man, these game developers really know how to mess up a good thing (Same thing happened with MW2 and MW3 with the lack of dedicated servers, as well as other developer crap). -
I would say that if BF3 is one of your main games you play these days, then going Premium is a good choice to make. For me, I only log in about 2-3 times per week playing a couple games. While I enjoy BF3, I'm definitely more sucked into other games at the moment and into the near future, so I'll probably be happy with the stock + Karkand maps for a good long while.
-
can't wait to play this on a laptop without a bag of frozen berries under it.
-
It's bad enough with new map packs. I remember BF2 with the Special Ops pack or whatever it was called. It was great fun but there were hardly ever any servers. I'd rather they do a "Battlefield 3.5" release and include a bunch of new maps, weapons, upgrades, etc that everyone can get, than a hodge podge of maps every six months.
-
I'm having an issue with Siene Crossing. It never loads and I end up having to go to the task manager to kill the BF3 process. It only happens with Siene Crossing and only started happening after the last patch. Whenever my clan is playing this map, I'm sidelined.
In checking on the Battlelog forums, the only people complaining of this seem to be console owners. And to be honest, that's probably not the best place to check for technical issues. I haven't been able to find help in diagnosing the issue (tips and such).
I don't think I'm going to reinstall all of BF3 just because one map is causing issues (and I've heard that this may not even help).
I know that Siene Crossing is said to be more resource-intensive, but I didn't have an issue with this particular map in the past (or any map). It's not the vidcard, as I'm running around 40fps and temps are normal (55C or so). I'm running at medium settings at max resolution (but bumped it down, but it didn't help), so that shouldn't be causing the issue. I installed the latest NV drivers...nothing. The only thing I haven't done is update the PB files...once again, it's only this one map that won't load. There are no PB messages and I'm not being kicked from the server...it's just not loading.
I'm totally stumped. Premium....yeah... -
I just wish DICE would get rid of the whole client side hit detection thing. Annoying as heck and it punishes people who actually have good ping. Maybe for BF4.
-
Have you ever played a game that has server-side hit detection and no client-side interpolation? Go play the original Halo: Combat Evolved online, and tell me how much better it is.
Sent from my Triumph using Tapatalk 2 -
Dunno about the original Halo (I've always avoided console FPS games anyways), but BF3's hit detection definitely needs some attention.
FIXED.
Went to Origin, right-clicked BF3, and selected Repair Install. It downloaded approx. 16G of patches (more than likely the whole game) and probably installed missing or borked files. Went to the clan's server and tested...worked fine. -
Ok, since the premium package was recently released, and like a dummy I bought it, I have been playing quite a bit more lately. I'm so frustrated because I feel like it's two steps back. My hit reg is horrible. No it's not an excuse for my poor aim. It's just absolutely horrific. Time and time and time again I get first attack, enemy isn't even facing me, hitting near head several rounds, yet 80% of the time they are able to turn and kill me in 1-3 shots.
Lag/warping, whatever you want to call it, is still quite prevalent in at least half the servers I've played.
Cheaters abound what seems even more now than ever. Every round I've played there's been at least 4-5 people banned. This is good, but it also tells me that cheating has not even started to be addressed. One round I ran up behind a sniper, shot him with every round in a magazine of my SCAR-H, a full magazine from my G18, knifed a half dozen times. Dropped a grenade and ran, came back, still 100%, he's looking around like "herr derr". Then I broadcast "user X is using a hack/cheat". I shoot him again, and he dies. He clearly turned off the hack or did the instant death or whatever so he wouldn't be "caught". -
I'm started notice many players are now abusing the recently introduced anti baserape spawn protection now.
Basically, they just fly into the opposite team and steal their air asset at their base. They have invulnerability as long they don't fly off. -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
I'm pretty close to being done with BF3...actually I'm pretty close to being done with videogaming in general.
-
I'm not following. If you go into the enemy base you're invulnerable? That doesn't make sense.
-
Not unless you play BF3.
Poorly done updates ftw. -
Let say you are on the RU team.
Fly to US base, and steal a jet on the runway.
Just sit there on the runway.
No one can kill you except for an admin.
On some maps, it is possible to completely deny almost all air vehicle assets with a single guy. -
Ok, thanks. How can you deny all assets with a single guy if he can only be in one vehicle at a time and will get the "out of bounds" timer if he leaves the jet.
-
Can't really deny all with a single but
You can block the 2nd jet from taking off and prevent a helo from spawning in a nice unmovable angle.
The success rate for the 2nd jet able to take off is really low, either they fall off or ram the edge which is instant death.
You can run around placing c4, 10 secs is pretty more than enough time to run in and out.
Your jet is out of position, so no one can spawn in. -

Try Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad. You wont be disappointed.

I hope I see someone doing this on my clan's server...he won't be coming back. We usually notify/kick/ban (in that order, and we sometimes have to do all three) when someone attacks uncaps. We broadcast that this type of gameplay isn't allowed by way of server messages. Sitting in the other team's plane with the intent to take advantage of a known bug with the maps and spawning...that's something that warrants an immediate ban.
It'll probably take two months or more for the dev team to fix this.

Anyone play close quarters yet?

I tried it and the first thing i was upset about was the friggen Gun Master mode.
HOW CAN YOU DESTROY SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS GUNGAME, DICE!!!!!!
There!
Sorry about caps but that thing pissed me off so bad. -
Really glad I didn't buy the Premium package this weekend.

Well i tried playing, it just sat at "loading level." Tried multiple servers

I can't play anything either and all the pings are extremely high.

Got in a couple different maps.
Had a spawn issue on some servers where I was in some type of spec mode where I coudnt shoot but could get shot.
New game type Gun Master where everyone starts with the same weapon and progresses to different guns up to level 16. That was alot of fun. -
Sometimes it crashes to desktop when launching but a second try fixed it for me.
Too bad the game feels kinda jerky.
I feel like a idiot for thinking that the infantry maps would change anything.
Hopefully the n00bs (and cheaters) will jump to the new maps so i might enjoy the old maps a little more. -
This is so true and good point. Maybe we can get some less idiotic people in the "old" maps. Although was looking forward to playing assault a little more, which close quarters would be perfect for.
-
What is your ping? do you have high speed internet? People that have lower ping will see enemies faster than people with lower ping. Also people with 100+ Fps with 120Hz monitor will have an advantage.
I haven't played BF3 for 1 whole month since I sold my g74 May 15th and then ordered a sager NP9150EM with 7970m, one more week left before I can play BF3 on ultra with 40+ FPS average. -

i'm having trouble reporting cheaters. Battlelog tells me "unable to send report...". has any of you encountered this and, maybe, knows a fix?
-
That actually sounds like a lot of fun. Makes me want to buy premium now.
-
Any tips To get better guys?
Also i am looking up on catching up to ALL the other battlefield games.
is this the other ones to get?
battlefiel 2-the collection
battlefiel 194 something collection
battlefiel 2142? collection
trying to find the retail version of them. -
Practice Practice Practice, is the only way to get better at ANYTHING.
You'll notice and pick up things easily, nothing can be done easily for the first few times -
I've been playing first person shooters since the original counter strike when i was like 11 years old lol didn't need any practice at all to start pwning in BF3.
-

for BF3
it'll be quite hard to catch up in vehicles since having no unlocks in jets puts you at a big disadvantage. just keep trucking along and eventually you'll get enough points to unlock something useful. for infantry, try playing Team death match on some of the smaller maps. you'll get points for weapons faster and itll teach you how to be aware of ur surroundings -
Still can't join the new maps.
