56Kb/s DL and 19Kb/s UP won't cut it for any games. You don't even have 1Mbps internet. What kind of 'USB Modem' are you using? An EDGE dongle? You realize the more ANONYMOUS information you give us, the better we can help you troubleshoot. . . Telling us what ISP/connection you have and where you live won't reveal anything personal.
If you're in Asia and are connecting to NA or EU servers you're bound to get massive pings, but your bandwidth may be the biggest culprit here. -
@Mobius 1
Sorry for being rude on asking you are from
@ jwimsett
You need to get used to adjusting your mouse as you fire. Don't just stop then fire.
The Circle with the dot in the center is very useful at that range.
The last 15 secs, you are screwed, don't run, commit.
When you have 2 jets on you, you have no choice to keep flying in circles. Hopefully either one disable or peel away.
Oh don't use the afterburners while recovering from a dive during a dogfight.
You can hug the ground to avoid or prolong heatseeker lock on.
And it is time, you learn how to do some combat maneuvers. You only need to pick a couple from here
Combat Maneuvers
Air Combat Maneuvres (I only liked the illustrations)
Here a few mentions that won't work in BF either limitation of flight model or wonky lag:
Lag Pursuit - Ram
The Low-Speed Yoyo - Ram
The Rollaway - Special case, works on inexperienced pilots only -

How do you use the circle with the dot in relation to crosshairs?
When is the best time to use afterburners?
I'll read up on the maneuvers.
Thanks -
What the heck? Are you on dial up?
-
Well there's why. Your bandwidth sucks.
-
Afterburners are used in short burst in order to maintain the 300-315.
Or to run from Mobile AA
Or Dodge laser designated weapons
Or to increase the distance between you and the heatseeker bummer
Or Hit the deck, hoping to stop the lock
---------------------------------------------------
The Circle with the dot is very good predictive sight for targets up to 3 secs ahead of you. Takes some practice to guess used to it.
As for me, I haven't reliably able to aim in 3rd person as of yet.
Would like to have some turning practice with it. -
The basics of those maneuvers work in BF3, but most aren't that reliable nor are they that useful because of the very limited flight model and lack of fine control (i.e. true rudder, yoke/stick, throttle). I flew hundreds if not thousands of successful kills in sims like F-15, Falcon 4, Lo-Mac, etc using such maneuvers, heck even a couple times with real aircraft with "Air Combat USA", but flying with a mouse with severely humbled flight model and physics is like driving a go-kart with your teeth.
-
I agree. I played alot of sims like F4 and F-15.
I hated the fact we can do the same loops on and on without blacking out or stuck in a spin ...etc. -
I'm actually on a EVDO USB dongle /:
I'm on a ZTE AC2726 EVDO A. modem. With a launcher driver preloaded into the modem itself
EDIT: I installed a new driver from here: http://www.ztemt.com/
It's ok ._.
USB dongle T_T -
Ouch, wireless internet.
-
That being said, I do respect your skill level in BF3 though. Well, I guess I respect your patience more than anything.
-
I wish I were better with the vehicles. I can be a competent gunner for the tanks and IFVs and helis, but I suck at driving basically everything. Except the AMTRAC. Here's my guide for that.
1) Drive directly at objective.
2) Switch to gunner seat.
3) Destroy the universe.
4) Rinse and repeat.
I took an objective by myself in Kharg Rush because I parked the AMTRAC behind the building with the MCOM and nobody realized it, so I just kept spawning on it. -
I was pretty good at tank driving. But when you're alone trying to cap an objective, it's nearly impossible to come out alive. The best moments were when I was slowing driving into an objective while infantry on the ground cleared out buildings and took to the roof tops to provide support. Lobbing a few tank shells in windows took care of any engineers with rpgs. This kind of teamwork rarely happened but when it did I felt unstoppable in my armored shell. Also having dedicated engineers repairing your vehicle was nice too

I got bored lulz check it out my bf3 montage.

I want to reset my stats now that I'm generally positive k/d, but I feel like if I do I'll go back to being trash
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Reset them again after that.
Funny thing. I reset my stats for the same reason, but I'm still stinking it up. My K/D is around .9. Trying to fly isn't helping that at all.
Battlelog shows the new stars, but if you go to bf3 stats it shows the old. -
Question: Do you guys tend to play around with all of the classes/vehicles or stick with something and try to get good at it? I sniped a buttload in BF2, but I find myself spreading everything out in this game. I'd love to get really good with one or two things, but there's so much to choose from! D:
Example: I'd really like to become accurate with sniping at certain distances (especially those longer ones), but that would mean no attack helicopter and IFV even though I've gotten quite good with both. Decisions, decisions... -
I played a lot of sniper in BF2. But in BF3 I tend to stick with Engineer and Support mostly because they have a defense against vehicles. I do play Assault class time and again in closer quarters because vehicles aren't as much of a nuisance, and you can rack up the score with revives, heals, and wield a shotgun for defensive purposes.
-
I generally stick to assault because I like to play rush and TDM which are both full of close range fights. Also, assaults are hugely useful in rush. Also, being close to the action allows me the opportunity to jump in a vehicle if need be. Sometimes I'll hop in a chopper to provide more firepower or hop in an APC to get from point A to point B. One of my favorite things to do in an APC is to hop in as a passenger, ride along till I see an enemy on foot, and then jump out and shoot him in the face as a surprise.
-
I stuck with Support until I got a good handle on the game. I've been using Assault quite a bit lately though. I only pull out the Engineer if tanks or helicopters are pissing me off. I keep trying to pick up sniper to unlock some stuff but I can't get used to sniping and it is just a boring class to me.
-

I generally play assault unless I'm flying the jets, then I'll play engineer. I love the c4 in support and unlimited ammo, but I don't like their guns. I tried recon, but had to keep waking myself up.
-
I like the M416
Idk why, but LMG's never appeal to me -
I used the M16A3 and AK-74M until I unlocked the AEK-971. I used that until I unlocked the F2000. Now I'm not sure if I'm going to switch to the AN-94 as my main weapon. It's tempting, but the F2000 is so good.
-
I was using the SCAR-H for a while, but lately it seems the spread is way to wide and random. I can burst or even single fire from beyond 50m with crosshairs on target and it never hits, it always goes in some random circular pattern. Dozens of times I've had a sniper in my 4x scope, quick burst fire, and no hits at all, and the sniper doesn't even budge. I fire again and nothing. Move in closer and 9/10 times I get nailed by someone else... waaaah.
-
I still need to rack up 85 kills for the 416's rifle scope :v
Add my battlelog lol -
Well, I can't say about your lag issue but are you using a foregrip on your rifle?
When I use a foregrip, I notice the random circular pattern when firing. -
If you're trying to rack up kills for weapon unlocks, I find that team deathmatch is the best way to do it. I can easily get upwards of 40 kills each round. I unlocked the F2000 and in the same night I had unlocked the foregrip, holo sight, and heavy barrel (along with a bunch of other stuff).
-
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
Now, most of the close quarter maps are full of map buggers who gets into spots where they are not supposed to.
Its getting really annoying now. -
Ah, that could be it. Doesn't make sense though, if you're scoped with foregrip it should be more steady/accurate.
-
I miss playing Battlefield 2 Bad Company. The snipers in BF3 really felt weak for me.
-
Yeah, but too many people complained about it so DICE decide the nerf it by adding a penalty when using your scope.
-
Reset my stats and now I'm at 1.76 K/D, 1 win/loss and 15% accuracy. Apparently score/min takes a few rounds to come up. Skill rating is 653. MLG pro all up ins.
-
Does resetting your stats change your time played back to 0?
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Nope....... -
No. Quite honestly it's only there to make you feel a little bit better. All it does is reset the 4 stats in the upper right corner of your soldier profile to zero. Everything else stays and your lifetime stats are still included at the bottom of the page, along with your true K/D. So it's pretty pointless.
-
Seeing as how BF3 is the only game I've ever pre-ordered I don't think I'll be resetting my stats. I'm really interested to see how far I can go in this game
-
? It doesn't reset your lifetime stats.
-
Someone said that it resets "everything in the four boxes" on the profile page. I thought your overall statistics were included.
Looks like something has beaten out "Score per Minute" for the "Most Utterly and Completely Useless" award. -

I had such a horrible experience on a Wake Island map. It was just laughable. So many people clearly hacking. Running up behind them guns blazing, clearly full hits to the head and body and yet still 100% health. So many of them. Tons of comments on my team like "I shoot them but they don't take any damage or die"... lol. Such a joke. Not sure why I play any more. I think I'll stop and start up ArmA 2 or something.
Anyone who thinks client side hit detection is better needs their head examined. In an honest world, yes, but clearly too many people take pride in cheating which is deplorable and immature. -
Same! I swear to god had the exact same experience last night, I went berserk... seriously what the hell is going on, and these people have been playing for ages -.-'
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Also... I was shooting at one of there guys, saw him take damage (by x indicator and also his body bouncing around) after he killed me...100% health.
sharqi peninsula -
Same ... They should really disable that spawn protection or reduce it cause 2 secs is way too long.
Wasted most of my clip on a person you can't kill just to be killed by reloading. -
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Mine wasn't spawn protection. I saw his dorito on my mini map as he was unloading on someone else. Then when i died, I noticed he was Support class, so I know he wasn't sitting on a med pack. -
Sometimes that happens to me. I get hit markers but I end up getting suppression assists instead of kill assists when the guy ends up being killed by an ally. BF3 hit detection
.
-
@R3d
That happens to me
A LOT /:< -
I think sometimes its because you don't get a kill assist if you don't do enough damage (<10, I think). Other times I put 2-3 bullets in them and still don't get an assist.
-
I changed my Origin ID name, it changed BF3 in game name too. But in Battlelog it doesn't change -.-
On a sidenote, my K/D ratio is bad, and I should feel bad ._. -
There's spawn protection? Really? So many times I spawn on a squadmate and am dead instantly.
