LOL. I can't get a grenade kill ever. It seems like the fuse is way too long, other than throwing it straight up in the air to cook the grenade which isn't relevant 99% of the time. Plus my grenades never explode if I throw them and then die. I've also had times where I threw it in a group of 4-6 guys in a confined space it blows up and nobody even takes damage.

I can get a grenade kill, usually it's on noshahr. When you spawn on the railroad side throw a grenade in the middle of the crates.
HT, can I add your battlelog? -
Soflam or some forward laser designator like citv or laser painters extends the range of the javs/guided by extra ~150m.
Also, smoke prevents laser designate as long you stay within the smoke (recently introduced a couple of patches ago) and last just enough to fire again by the time someone fires a new one. The smoke/flares trigger always breaks the lock. -
I thought javs can only lock onto laser designated targets?

Can lock on to any ground vehicle without laser.

Smokes flares don't always break the lock. I always stay in the smoke unless I know I have a good spot out of line of sight.

Someone is getting low FPS after the last patch (aftermath)?
Here i dropped from 60 fps average to 15-20 FPS average. Same results playing single player and multiplayer (all maps)
On EA forum there are multiple users (PS3, x360 and pc) with the same problem.
My specs:
CPU i7 3610qm , gpu 7970m (tried latest beta driver, tried latest official driver - same results), 8gb ram, windows 8.
Game configs everything ultra (except AA - both off). Tried with everything LOW, got same results.
bf3.exe running with high priority (all cpu cores enabled) on taskmanager. Tried to park 1 cpu core, no FPS improve =(
Anyone know how to fix this? -
That should not happen, my frames have dropped from ~80 to just about 60, 50 on markarz monolith, Aftermath definitely has some utilization issues just like close quarters (although they arnet as bad), but it shouldnt be as bad as the way you are experiencing it. Try installing different beta drivers, I dont know exactly how it stands with AMD drivers now having a 680m but for instance far cry 3 would run best on 12.8 I've heard, not on the latest one.
Although It could be that the drivers are actually that bad, I've heard people complaining that the enduro issues were never fixed, only some games were optimised.
Have you tried reinstalling the game?
edit: btw are the servers down? upon trying to log into battlelog, I get promted to select my origin ID (which I of course already have) and I cant select a new ID or type in my current one, I get an error message.... -

Tried 3 different drivers, same results...
I think the problem is directly linked to the update, because the problem started after the last update...
Initially I thought the problem was caused by the enduro, but as all my other games are working fine (including some games that were affected by enduro, before new amd drivers) and as I saw some NVIDIA users (from EA forum) with the same problem, i´m almost sure that is bug in the game, not an AMD drivers problem

have you tried a clean install and then not downloading aftermath? does it also cause the problem?

I'll try to reinstall the game, without Aftermath!
But I believe the problem is not caused by the DLC, but by the patch that launched a few days before (patch 1.07 I think) -

Been playing on Aftermath servers with 310.64, no crashes here yet. Also 35 ~50 FPS.

I like the creates area and stack medic and ammo and just go head on and come back to stack up again.. But head on, ..also no crouched in a corner waiting for unsuspecting folks (lol on this).. Just my opinion. -

I just had a conquest on seine (small), also easy grenade kills when your team camps near the RU spawn.
Deploy as a support, and camp in the crate near the flag. Throw an ammo box.
Just throw grenades like there's no tomorrow near the entrance -
Odd, you seriously can get like 20-30 hand grenade kills in a 5 min session in metro.

You can? Hell everyone seems immune to mine. But I guess I get bored of grenade lobbing and try to do more interesting things. I hate Metro. It's not a real game. It's like a sadistic clickfest. He who wins B first, wins the game.
That's the other thing I'm getting tired of BF3 is the domination effect. Every round, one team completely dominates the other. I rarely ever play close scoring games any more. Team balancing doesn't work, it just throws the last joined player to the other side. The only reason I continue to play is because I am familiar with it and can jump in for a 20 minute romp and jump out.
I really wish EA would give up the ghost and offer a map editor. Let the creative talents take over. But instead they'll continue to charge us for every map pack but all with the same rules, until they release the next game. -
It pretty much down to timing on B metro seriously. Just aim at the pillar at the stair and let the nade bounce off it, when you see 4 red dots on minimap starting to run towards it
I don't play much on metro. But frag perk with 2 ammo pack = endless stream of nades.
I would love some custom maps ... don't care it be unranked ... just give us a map editor. -
Play Metro rush then. Metro as a conquest map just doesn't work well imo.

Metro Rush is definitely better. I like to stick to a max of 16 or 32 though. Otherwise its just too frustrating to play.

Metro map is simply a fail map altogether. I avoid it like the plague.
I'm looking to find a new game. I've never gotten over the bad glitches in the game like:
1) bending bullets. Still bugs the crap out of me that I can be behind cover for 0.5-1sec and still get killed.
2) line of sight. I can be behind a two story rock yet a tank can hit the rock and it still kills me, or be down a 30 deg hill and a tank at the top can still shoot me while I'm prone. Barrel doesn't go down that low, sorry. I guess it relates to 1 and 3
3) horrible horrible hit detection. I was playing some tank superiority last night and was about 20 feet behind a big rock in a tank. I saw the shell shot from the other tank hit the rock and not me, yet it did damage to me as a direct hit, 3 times in a row (and killed me)
4) Shoot first, die first? ??? SOOO many times I get the jump on someone. I mean literally get behind them without them seeing me. Full mag to the upper torso and head from 20 feet,they still manage to turn around and shoot me dead. Or I know someone is coming, I hide in a corner crouching, and see them come in and not even look my way. I shoot at them connecting with a bunch of X's yet they turn and shoot me dead 50-60% of the time. Just dumb.
5) Tank shells don't kill infantry. Really? A direct hit with a tank shell, a couple times sometimes, and the soldier keeps going 80% of the time.
6) Javelin - where do I start? Just a map I was playing, I was tagged by a soflam. I got the beeping tone, smoked, but kept hauling butt in a straight line. I saw the javelin go straight past me towards the smoke by then about 100 feet behind, I was in external view, and saw it do a complete 180 degree 10 feet off the ground and come back at least 200 feet by then and kill me. Stuff like that all the time. Just because they can get a tone doesn't mean the game should grossly ignore the physics of flight to score the kill.
7) (edit) Gameplay balance - Seriously very rarely do I ever get in a game that is evenly matched. Most of the time one team completely trounces the other, and continues ad nauseum even though the game does some "balancing" which is a complete joke. It just shuffles the last joined player to the other team.
They seriously need to implement "injury" in that you move more slowly when injured beyond 50% or something. Or give you blurred / restricted vision until you heal beyond 50%. There's no way someone getting shot repeatedly should be able run or turn around, or get their sites on you so easily. Sure you should still have a chance, but making a player with 5% health move as quickly and easily as one with full health is ridiculous.
I know I've put a lot of time into this game, which is why I continue to play. Not sure how people can reach 100 rank either. I get bored after a round or two now, regardless of win or lose or new maps and weapons. And these glitches have bugged me since day one, and clearly are never going to be fixed. -

I love tossing nades into that spot, I always get multiple kills from people who thinks that a safe spot.
It's one of the few areas I can consistently do max range nade throws.
I do it every time when I play TDM on that map. -
Crap...I can't keep a decent connection...I've been getting a ton of disconnects (ever since that last patch). I play wirelessly most of the time, but it's never been an issue. It's totally random. I can spend an hour on one server without interruption, then I join another server and bammm. Highly irritating.
EDIT: restarted gateway router, just to see if that helped any...played about an hour without hiccups (one server, though). We'll see what tomorrow brings. -

Any of you having white screen issues with the 12.11p drivers? Love the performance when I get it to run but it can be a pain to actually launch. Get an app crash on the ntdll.dll. Really annoying!!!!

I would say the only thing that truly irritates me in BF3 anymore is that buckshot is so damn useless. The fact that I can miss three times from point blank range is unreal.

I personally find it to be quite realistic, considering it's a game. The pellets aren't designed to kill instantly, you're probably hitting them with a couple pellets, which barely hurts them depending on the distance. The pellets scatter - go shoot a wall, you'll see what I mean. But I understand, it can be frustrating. You should stick to slugs, haha.

I'm talking about point blank range. I can be standing right next to a guy and hit him with exactly zero pellets, doing no damage. I never use shotguns when I have a choice, but that's not always the case in scavenger or gun master. I guess I just need to stick to rush and conquest.

Oh I see. Well, maybe they dumbed them down a bit because they were too strong at one point, and now they're too weak. I used to use the shotgun a lot on Xbox and had a lot of fun, haven't tried it in a long time.

I agree. Same issue here. Heck I get that with any gun. I wish I was recording, because I literally was pegging this guy with my gun and he was dancing like he was having a seizure from the bullets. I ran out of ammo, he lined up and bang, I'm one shot dead. He still had like 40% health.

Shotgun spread is way over-exaggerated. They are quite accurate, can blow someone's head off at 100 yds away, clean shot. And in the close quarters around buildings, across streets, they are WAY closer than 100 yds. Anyone close should be blasted to smithereens.

Buckshots IRL would max out at 35-40M
Unless you're using slug rounds, that's a diff story. -
And who in real life would use slug rounds in a shotgun, there's much more effective longer range weapons than that, at least in a military situation. Hunting is a whole different story.
