LOL, seems you didn't understand my point. I was refuting your post and pointing out how saying shotguns are realistic in BF3 is lunacy. That's not how shotguns work. Anyone within 100 yds should be dead when fired at with a military grade shotgun. We're not using hunting shotguns made for hunting pigeons in the game. But no point in discussing further since you are a die hard DICE fan who doesn't know the difference between good and bad netcode. According to you bad netcoding is realism, which is just lunacy.
-
I personally don't think shotguns are realistic in battlefield 3 compared to real life as if that was the case, they'd be over abused like mad.
I've never had any game breaking problems and personally like that they have a bit of range to them compared to other games -
I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm just saying the last time I played I could kill players with that gun quite easily, they must have changed it, I don't know. What's DICE? A company? I'm not a "die hard fan" of this company.
And about your comment suggesting someone would be dead at 100 yards fired at with scatter shot is incorrect. A slug, yes. Buckshot, unlikely. Scatter, no. I'm assuming that we are referring to buckshot or scatter, my bad if not.
There's no need to be rude. It was just an opinion based on my previous experience in game. Maybe I was lucky? Who knows. -
Shotguns are nerfed in a way that suppression affects it pretty badly on hipfire. It goes downward leftward or rightward depending how you move around.
The reasons for the nerf was to reduce the chance of 1 shot kills when popping out of corners to allow others non-shotgunners have a chance to fire a shot off during really close quarters.
And that more people use the pump shotty over the semi/auto which has a much higher chance of 1 shot kill.
IMO, the shotgun was fine before they mess with it. -
Long read, but worth it
The True Story of Battlefield 3, the Battlefield Franchise, Its Community, & EA/DICE -
I actually posted something in the BF3 forum and got a smattering of useful/decent feedback (mostly people b*tching me out for having an opinion on a game I love), but one intelligent user posted that very article and boy did I keep that in mind from then on.
I loved BF2 enough to pre-order BF3. Even after playing BF2 I didn't realize that EA absorbed DICE and "Battlefield 2: Modern Combat" (I owned that POS for the Xbox) was EA's first attempt at turning the BF franchise into a console game. Then, instead of keeping the "Bad Company" series separate for console they decided to make BF3 a console game mid-development.
Aaaaaaaand *poof* No more of my money to EA. -
It doesn't matter which one I use. So far I've tried the 1014 and the SPAS and both suck. I just stick to assault rifles.
-
I can hit peeps around a decent range using the 12K Buck. And last I looked at the stats the 12K shoots 9 pellets opposed to the 1014's 10 buck

Did anyone see the new teaser for End Game? At the end, I could see the recon class running with the flags. Looks like, its going to be a mode like in Quake 3 arena.

Didn't knew we had a new country in the North America according to dice.

To be honest, most FPS games are focused for console gaming now-a-days because that is where the money is at. Look what they did to Crysis, they even tried making counter strike for consoles which failed miserably.
Even the COD franchise don't care about PC gamers anymore. They are so focused on consoles that they didn't even care to provide real dedicated servers for PC. Far Cry 3 multiplayer doesn't have dedicated servers.
The reason why I sold my XBOX and focused only on PC games WAS because of dedicated servers, now they are almost non existent with modern FPS games for PC. -
All I saw was a Jihad run againts a chopper using the dirtbike+C4

yes, there is a new game mode which is called Capture the Flag (duh!)
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Similar to warfighter? -
I didn't play war fighter , but I think the game mode actually involves going to the enemy base, stealing the flag and then carrying it back to your own base
-
warfighter's DLC on assassinating BL is out btw.
-
I just got done playing a few games. The first game I played, not only was I bad, I died more than a dozen times and had zero kills. I am going from console gaming to PC gaming and it is going to take a while to get controls down. I'm also having a lot of sensitivity issues, tend to fly the chopper into the ground a lot, ha ha. Oh well, it's fun!
-
Consoles run at DX9, PC runs at DX11.
Mouse is always better compared to a PS3/X360 controller for FPSes.
64 player server for PC.
^__^
Just went 3 rounds of SQDM, idk why but at one point the BMP got absolutely stuck and I was killed by a C4 T_____T -

i rejoined the PC crowd after a year or two of playing on Xbox 360. i still use the Xbox 360 controller when playing on my PC! i just can't get myself to use the keyboard...so i use the controller to move around and run and drop med/ammo pack and aim down sights, but i do the fine-tuning and shooting and knifing with the mouse. so now i don't touch the keyboard at all... -
Is there any cure for the HP 6770m issues?
-
What issues are those? I remember with my HP with 6750m it didn't work well with the Crossfire with the IGP, but it worked great with just the 6750m.
-
Game freeze, "driver stopped working" problem. I hardly can play through a full match without these issues. (latest HP driver + Win8)
-
Controllers are such a disadvantage to keyboard & mouse. You'll barely get any kills when everybody around you can aim and shoot much faster and accurate.
-
This is why I suck on the PS3
-
The BF3 game is huge (capacity wise - GB's). I feel sorry for the guys who have slow internet. If I still had my old internet, it would take at least 12 hours for each expansion pack.
-
Is that a 56K modem? :O
My internet connection is only 20-25kB/s~ btw -
darxide_sorcerer Notebook Deity
i'm doing fine, i think. not as good as a keyboard+mouse guy/gal, but definitely better than others with controller+mouse (if they exist!)...the mouse is the key. -
Not sure, but I only saw 280KB/s - 300KB/s maximum when downloading files with my previous internet connection. I was just saying BF3 takes a lot of space, it's crazy. I think around 30GB's total (there was also a 6GB~ update).
-
Its 18gb download, did it yesterday, new drive/install.
-
yeah no joke, I installed the game on my 128 GB SSD because I wanted fast load times, i have windows 7 installed and BF3 on it and only have like 40 GB left. Frickin expansion packs combined is more than 40 GB i believe, then add full game and the updates. I don't want to spend another hundred bucks to have 2x 128 GB SSD on raid 0.
-
I used to have BF3 installed on my SSD, granted my load times were faster, but when I started new rounds it didn't matter because I usually had to wait before I could play for everyone else to load.
-
delete pls..
-
Not my case though, when I start a new round on a sever everybody was playing before I could spawn.
-
Holy crap... Tank Superiority map, we were down like 280 to 700. We ended up winning! lol. I just kept telling everyone to rush the flag rush the flag rush the flag, then we always had 3-4 tanks at the flag and just camped. A few well placed SOFLAMS and a few engineers around and it's damn near impossible to break through. Teamwork works, when you use it, lol. Now where is that in-game VOIP that we asked for?
-
It's games like this that make it fun. Although all too often rounds are so far apart in score it's never fun. People just end up going for stats instead of the ultimate goal (winning). They really need to improve team based points and general points for contributing to the game win not just individual stats.
-
I'm so bad at PC BF3. Put me in a Viper on the 360 and I'll get 35+ kills every game, flying.
Was so funny, I'm making myself laugh. I crash into buildings and trees... It's hysterical.
Maybe I'll record a quick game-play video of me trying to learn how to fly... LOL.
3 kills / 19 deaths over a good 30 minutes and they were mostly me crashing, haha. I love it though, great game. Graphics look amazing on the PC compared to the Xbox. -
Welcome to PC gaming ^__^
-
Nah its probably because every one in the consoles suck lulz
-
That makes perfect sense...
-
Consoles only run DX9...
-
Pretty sure he was making fun of my skill level in BF3. Or suggesting everyone sucks on consoles, so that's why I get a lot of kills.
I honestly don't care that much. I bought my PC to have fun, not to compete and get aggravated over a game with a bunch of kids, LOL. -
I agree - coming from Xbox to PC Battlefield is tough but having fun is all that matters really!

Sometimes the developers work hard at creating realism in military shooter and the community ruins it with childish play styles.
-
And sometimes developers don't know what they are doing and refuse to fix the phantom met coding (is it even there)?
-
Getting shot behind covers ftw
PB issues ftw
Game disconnects ftw
And here's an example of EA "taking care" of it's community
Shame, he's one of my fav commentators ;(Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
If you get shot behind covers, its most likely compensation lag, the enemy already shot you dead before you took cover and the game only registeres that you are supposed to be dead about two seconds late. BF3 needs a COD like kill-cam style so we can identify whether they are hacking or not.
-
"Kill cams" can go to hell in a game like BF3. I can usually hold down a flag on my own as a sniper, but not with a stupid post-kill camera showing the enemy exactly where I am. In a game like CoD? Sure. The maps are tiny as hell and you just run around in circles, anyway. If I recall correctly, BF2 didn't have a kill cam and it just hovered over your dead body while you waited to respawn. My personal favorite thing was to camp near the enemy hanger and snipe jet/chopper pilots before they got a chance to take off.
DICE and EA just need to work on better anti-cheat software like the rest of the gaming world. -
That's the whole problem. The hit detection is a total joke, as is line of sight. I can lunge behind a huge rock, turn around and 0.5 - 1.0 second later end up dying with the soldier on the complete other side of the rock. Not to mention many times I've come up on someone, lay all I got into them, their body dances around like a dub step Michael Jackson on speed, then they turn around and shoot me dead. Line of sight, is awful. Tank at top of hill, barrel can't go below 0 degrees, yet they're still able to shoot me down the hill? So many times too I blast an infantry with several tank rounds and they still don't die. Not to mention it can take as many as three shots at times to destroy a disabled tank. Ridiculous.
The kill cam is ok I guess. Just don't camp the same spot. I get quite a few kills because they don't move, snipers especially. And communication is a joke. They say you don't need VOIP. You don't know how many times I've gone in and knifed 3 or 4 snipers all grouped together, none the wiser to my presence, because they're 100% eyes down scope even though I just knifed their two buddies next to them. VOIP would change that dynamic instantly. A quick, "getting knifed" or whatever would change all that. That reminds me too, they need to implement a grid on the map so you can reference locations. Even though I can't talk I frequently type location of enemies or whatever, but it would be a lot easier to say "sniper at E3" rather than "sniper behind rock about 100m west of B" -
