Funny thing is I bought Medal of Honor maybe 3 months ago when it was on sale for like $20, yet I still got the bf3 beta key

 

All I can say is I'm glad I didn't stay up last night waiting for my email. I preordered on Origin in the middle of August and still nothing. I do find it pretty ironic that for a game that will not be available on Steam the Steam users are the first ones that can get the beta for PC.

Well, you get the code from steam, but still have to redeem it through Origin. At least I did.

 

Yeah, unless you have use for the flex version, I'd say go for the toxic version instead.

 

I'm running all those features turned off like AA, AO, etc, 16x AF, high textures and mesh details, low shadows and effects, 1080p. I average 25+FPS.

I have BF3 beta key in Steam. How do I use it to download BF3 beta in Origin? I go to the Free Games page and nothing shows up.

 

If you think about it it makes sense for those who were conned into buying medal of honor to get the beta first, as many of them spent money on a game they would never really play because they thought it was the only way to get beta access while those of us who pre ordered only bought BF3.

Of course, that doesn't stop my jealousy right now.................


Also that review seems kind of questionable; they say that someone with a GTX 560 should be able to do 80-100 fps in 720. First of all, who with a gtx 560 would be playing at 720p? 720P is really only a viable resolution for small laptop monitors now that so many desktops have 1080P screens. Also, 80-100 fps? Really? Most monitors have a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz so 80-100 fps is literally completely useless. I know that I personally would much rather prefer to play at 1080P with medium settings and get 60 fps than play at 720P (not sure what settings they were predicting) with an unnecessary 100 FPS. Don't these people know that playing at a non native resolution looks horrible? Also, this is a multiplayer game, so higher resolution will actually benefit you in terms of how well you do in the game, while fancy effects will not. Also, it seems they tested the FPS on an EMPTY SERVER, which as those of us who have played BF games before know has nothing at all to do with what performance you will be getting when there are 64 people all fighting on the same map (which no doubt will increase CPU usage) (end rant).

 

Do you guys think a 5870 Crossfire setup will be able to run BF3 maxed at 1920x1200?

Or should I jump ship and buy a new single card?

Wow, this game is really demanding.
My ati 6970 everything set on high was pulling around 28fps outside in action, started changing certain things to medium like texture and shadows and some others to bump it to 34fps outside in action.
Crazy demand on gpu

yeah about that try internet explorer for some reason it doesn't like chrome

 

now im waiting to hear from dual 580s on how it plays, ALL MAXED (meaning everything including things like, antialiasing deferred/post, anisotropic filtering, and ambient occlusion all on its highest)!

Chrome was perfect for me... No issues at all.

 

Woot, plays like a dream at 1920x1200 on my desktop i5-2400 / GTX 460 (eVGA overclocked). Not sure of FPS but smooth as butter.

Gonna install on my laptop now.

 

I got my early access pass and I ordered a retail box copy through Origin.

 

Guess I'll have to remove my firepro drivers, reinstall the new catalyst and OC the crap out of my Acer 3820TG. Can't wait. This might be worth repairing my desktop for.

Cant even get a damn connection to the game servers, all i get is the same "Generic Game Error no. (1,2,3,4 or something)."

Tried to use IE instead of Chrome and it was actually worse, since it would not update the server info at all.

EA i am dissapoint. ;_;
