Well the final PC build of the game just got leaked..
not a good sign.. a mere 7 days after the end of the beta.. wonder how many changes they got in..??
PS: if someone does go about testing the leaked final build (dunno if its cracked or not), let us know about the final performance..

It is not cracked.. Won't be until the game is actually released.. Pretty sure. Although i have already pre-ordered. Loved bf2, will love definitely this too.
-
Maybe this evening I should have it, but just to see Single Player, i have preordered it to play the only way BF3 is meant to be played: ONLINE.
-
A BF3 leak wont hurt sales, as BF3 is meant to be online.
I dont even think it does local network play anymore. D;
Give it a couple of days and we will see the leak for Xbox 360 and the PS3 leak after that.
(PS3 will probably take some time as il bet Dice made the game with the newer game SDK meant for the newest PS3 system update.) -
They've already said that they will be assessing the game at launch and adding features. Heck even the commo-rose may not even be present but adding that later. Adding advanced flight controls. Leaning and firing from behind cover is crucial in a game like this I think.
-
can you give me the youtube vid source for that screenie? thats ridiculous on what it requires... im SO glad i got the 590...
-
there'll be a day 1 patch... that'll update a crapload of stuff, server side patches will also go a long way to eliminating bugs
and yeah it'll be power hungry... but it runs at 30fps+ on high 900p as long as ambiant occlusion is disabled on my lowly gt555m (that was caspian border) so with a bit of playing about it'll still be pretty decent/scalable -

OK so it should theoretically run on high settings on my desktop without issue, but my laptop is going to be another story...
-
If it's true that the beta used DX10 with medium graphics assets, then we'll be running on low settings at 720p for a more fluid experience!
-
Well although they said some DX11 features in the beta were disabled, EVGA precision still reported it as running in DX11 on my video card. With BFBC2, forcing it to run in DX10 mode increased my performance, even with settings lower (which would mean most of the DX11 effects would be disabled anyway). I am not sure how they are implementing DX in BF3 though, so there very well may not be a way to force DX10 for better performance.
-
Haven't had a chance to go through this yet, but I figured some of you might find it interesting.

Damn, they got rid of rubbernecking!
-
I'm guessing my sager np2096 won't be able to run this at all, not even on minimum
-
One week to GO!
-
Still 9 days here
-
thats what i was gonna say bro! i cannot WAIT! my desktop will come around the 28th though :\ so i wont be playing until the 28th... that will be killer (once i have the game in-hand and nothing to install it on, lol!) -
I don't think I can play until around the 28th anyhow because I ordered from Newegg and think I gotta wait for the actual package to get my key.
-
hopefully it will be more optimized lol >_> Beta ran fine with 30fps on medium settings with my rc512.
I dont want an overhaul if that means endangering my playability T_T -
Sorry havent been playing, but is beta down?
-
The beta is over now.
-
We're all just waiting for the gamma
and the day one delta.
-
But I personally like Charlie, it's WINNING!
-
I tried playing BF3 with the laptop in my sig.
After lower resolution to 1366x768 and all graphical settings (dont even know if this made a difference) I was able to get the game to run "decent" with a few slow downs when too much action was going on screen.
I have a desktop to play this on but would be ecstatic if the final release would allow me to get a config playable on my laptop. -

I found it rather annoying that the Alpha worked better than the Beta, and that the beta had SOOOOOO many bugs and bad features D: Atleast they removed the light tank from the beta, that thing was annoying!

New awesome multiplayer trailer:
Battlefield 3 - Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer - YouTube -
Yea I saw that this morning and I couldn't stop watching it over and over
. That free fall map is going to be awesome and karkand has change a lot since the bf2 days, can't wait to go back when.
Oh and the night maps looks awesome! -
The Happy Swede Notebook Evangelist
Gawd, i cant wait for the full game. It looks really promising! Though i do hope for some further optimization! -
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
That was EPIC! All of my friends think it is going to be a COD clone because of the Operation Metro Beta....This couldn't be further from the truth.
-
epic
now the last thing we need is pray for more than 5 flags on karkand map, actually an un-altered karkand -

I think it will have all 8 points if 64 players are involved.

hey guys, random question (ill probably have to post it once the game comes out), but i will be using the logitech g930 headset (7.1 surround sound) for this game, but what option should i choose in BF3 to fully utilize the 7.1 surround sound? i saw options like war tapes... etc.. etc... anyone have an idea?
ill also have the xi-fi titanium sound card. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
let's see.
headphones is for stereo headphones
hifi is default - this is the one you probably want to use
small speakers adjusts the sound for very small speakers
home cinema adjusts sound for very large home cinema style speakers
Wartapes exaggerates the spatial qualities of the sound and includes a heavy reverb effect, and tries to make the audio experience more immersive. It's worth trying, but I personally don't like it. It sounds like your in a bathroom even if you're outside. It's kind of weird.
You might want to investigate changing some of the audio options manually when the game comes out in settings.ini or similar. If it's possible, your best bet would probably be using the headphone settings, except with 8 channels instead of 2. Alternatively, stick with hifi, can't go wrong. Experiment with war tapes. Don't use small speakers or home cinema settings. Don't use headphones unless you can force it to give you surround sound instead of stereo. -
I am not completely sure, but I think in BFBC2 the various settings like "hifi" and "home theater" didn't have to do with the number of speakers; they were just different equalizer/effects settings. If I remember correctly the game itself would detect the number of speakers you had. However, I am not completely sure about this.
Also, the whole "base jumping" section of the map seems like sort of a gimmick. I can imagine that it would get old after only a few times playing it. We have had base jumping in previous BF games, but in those instances we had to get up to the high places OURSELVES. In Fall of Berlin in BF2142 you could get up on top of the very tall buildings in the center of the map by "pod surfing" with the respawn beacon pods (before they patched it out). -
I have a couple of quick questions.
I haven't done the gaming thing at all in a year or so and not that much before that, but am picking up a new laptop and think I will order BF3. It would be great to get it as soon as possible since I have some free time coming up. I can't really get any mail at my location, I live at the top of a ski lift.
Where is the best spot to download it from? Does it matter? I have relatively slow connection so is there somewhere I could pre-download it from?
Does the multiplayer cost anything for connections?
These are almost embarrassingly simple questions, but ones I could not easily find answers for. Thanks -
Oh yeah? Charlie don't last long after get patc... PUNK'D!
-
Ultimately it will always download the game from Origin, EA's version of Steam... obviously, where you get the origin key from can vary. I have not bought the game yet, but usually a bit closer to release, they will probably allow for pre-downloading of the game files from origin so you can play it as soon as it releases
Don't really understand your second question... multiplayer is free, but dlc etc probably has a small charge. -
They are allowing pre downloading on the 21st. The only DLC content we know of now is the Back to Karkand expansion, and that is free if you pre order the game. I have a sneaking feeling that they are going to release it later for free just to screw all of us who pre-ordered, just like how they conned people into buying MOH by telling them it would give them BETA access for an OPEN BETA (2 days early is not worth $40).
Also, you live at the top of a ski lift? How exactly does that work? Is it currently winter where you live? -

Beta stats..
-
Very cool man
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
I think it's stupid:
47 billion shots fired. If you could travel one light year for each bullet, you'd reach the end of the known universe. Okay. If I had one cent for each bullet, I'd have 470 million dollars. If I had 3 dogs for each bullet, I'd have 141 billion dogs. What if I had 9 clowns per bullet? What if I could take 3 trips to hawaii for every 7 bullets? What if, instead of bullets, they fired BEARS!?! That would be 47 billion bears!
And other nonsense.
2.2 billion health regenerated! Guess what. That's just a number based on an arbitrary amount of health you get in the first place. I guess maybe it's 100 points / life? It could be some other amount, I'm not positive, and it really makes no difference. 2.2 billion health doesn't correlate to anything in the real world, so why bother relating it to some obscure real world statistic? I don't care.
1.5 billion kills. If you drop the units (kills) and just look at the number (1.5 billion), and you add the units "liters" - you get half the U.S. beer consumption in 2011. That's not my statistic, that's straight from the ad. Well, if you drop the number (1.5 billion) and replace the word "kills" with this baby's expression:
- you get a funny baby expression that happens to match my expression after reading the short little EA promo covering these stats.
Last thought - if you start with 1.5 billion kills, drop the billion and replace the letter "k" with "g" you get 3/8 the number of gills on a goldfish.
Here's to completely trivial and arbitrary statistics you pulled out of nowhere, EA. Great work. -
Why are you so mad? Is it really so criminal of EA to try and add some interesting relevance to otherwise blank numbers? :/
-
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Ive received an email from origin stating that from tomorrow i will be able to preload the game.
Cant wait, so excited, and for god sake i hope they did something to the performance, because beta was sucking hard. -
The Happy Swede Notebook Evangelist
Yeah i agree, i really hope they optimize the game further! Would be a pity if it ran like the beta... -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
I'm not mad, just using "angry tone" for the forum post. Means as much as an EA statistic. I actually thought it was hilarious (me, not them - I really do think they are stupid for it, tried my best to demonstrate my line of thought).
Taking a number of one thing, dropping the units, and comparing it to some other number with units is pretty stupid. It is not interesting. It does not add relevance. -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
*facepalm*
Really, dude? Ok. -
Same here, I received this email too. And regarding the perfomance they have stated a lot of things have been fixed from the Beta, we will see soon anyhow.
Btw, many of you will be able to test the release versione some days before me (I live in Italy). So I'm waiting for your impression on 10/25!

i have a sony cb with ati 6630m...
