The P90 and a few other pdws got nerfed ... they removed the accuracy bonus when you use the sights.

You shouldn't use them beyond the current range of the irnv.

 

When was this? I just started using the p90 and I'm racking kills with it. It's pretty good with a holo + silencer + laser.

 

While I understand the need for balance, I hate how seems every game they always nerf all the weapons to the point where there is little difference between then other than the skins.

They do it every game every time, so why not just make it that way from the start, its not like they shouldn't have the idea of how to balance it by now from all the other BF games.

It ultimately always boils down to. Some weapons will have higher ROF with less dmg, better for close quarters and spray & pray. Others will have lower ROF with higher damage and usually best for long range and those with accuracy.

 

It really applies to the suppressor portion.
And yes it is really good with the suppressor.

Actually, I believe your config without the laser is the best one for it too.

But I never once tested it outside of TDM though

 

Yeah, in BFBC2 they ended up nerfing everything so everything was almost the same. It was so stupid. A lot of the things that took forever to patch into BFBC2 that was actually worthwhile wasn't even included in BF3...

Welcome back bf2 maps! It only took me 4 years to get the right computer to run all of you at max settings in bf2. Now you are remade into the FB2.0 engine and will be played at the lowest possible settings.

Tehran, Seine, and Bazaar aren't bad, but not my style of maps. Metro is... Metro. Then there's Damavand. Some [not so nice teammate] gave the enemy our heli last night and they used it to hover over our side out of AA range the entire round. They would spawn and parachute and cap our flags while the other heli mowed everyone down. Most of my team would just ignore it and continue fighting in the fricking tunnel.

Last I really played it the boundaries for jets and choppers were quite restricting so I stayed away from it.

 

Laptop, my desktop's 6870 is on its way.

 

2 of us are in the server now if anyone wants to join us.

 

They just tweeted that online services will be down from 10-11am CET so that's a little over 7 hours from now. Looks like this is when they update us for Y2K.

EDIT: Just got a popup from Origin, it is KARKAND! Woot, imma try for 1 hour before I go studying for exams.

This expansion makes me wish I had taken advantage of that 60% off sale and bought the English version of the BF3 game, because now with my Russian version I do not really have an easy way to get this expansion and I imagine lots of people will be playing this rather than vanilla.

 

These maps are smaller than I remember them, but they're a whole lot more fun than the vanilla BF3 maps. Conquest Assault is nice too, now that we don't have to wait for the tickets to count down for the inevitable landslide victory/losses.

 

Only tried two rounds on Gulf of Oman 1000 tickets but cant say felt that epic nostalgia playing on it.
Seems that there might be some lag problems with the new update too. D;

I get rubberbanding and heavy frame drop now.
Hopefully it was just the server or something.

Only thing thats sad is that the server chat is filled with bad language and stuff like that.
Prefer the kind folks at the NBR server over the lame public server kidz.

 

Wish we could get more consistent activity on the NBR server, the random public servers are getting really annoying.

 

Feels like Gulf of Oman has too much armor. Everywhere you go you're getting raped by1-2 tanks/APC's. I think AT weapons need a buff too.

 

It does feel like that. I would say it's starting to be a good map for engineers, lots of opportunity for repair points, vehicle destroys, etc. The whole time I was playing, I rarely fought on foot and just hopped in the nearest vehicle.

Just noticed on Karkand map at Market (Point C) they play the original BF2 music, lol.

It seems that the uber high ranks are coming out of the woodwork with Karkand. Every map I go on there's like level 1-15 Eagles (whatever the hell that rank is), and stacked on one side. See this screenshot:

Anyways ... I didn't know you can use ecm jammers on tanks.
Don't know its a glitch or something.
I noticed it on my tank and it is useable. Despite I have other things as well.

 

I don't understand the point of not showing your own ping on the scoreboard.

 

The way I understand it, the ping is showing to the other players (and back of course) machines not to the server, so your ping would be effectively zero. I believe this is done because of client side hit detection.

You can see your ping to the server by using Ctrl-Alt-S.

Stupid Karkand map pack has pushed me back. Was supposed to go Xmas shopping for my little guys. Gotta go now!

But you aren't making 63 P2P connections, you're just making one connection to the server... your ping should be listed as the time it takes for your packet to get to the server and back to you. Everyone else's ping is traditionally reported as the time it takes for their packet to get to server and back to them. Now, it would be epic if the reports were based on the time it takes for a packet to get from them to the server, and then forwarded to you. That would be good to know. I'd still like to see my round trip packet time to the server... that would be consistent with the other reports.

Maybe get 2 people in game and test to see whether ping reports for arbitrary 3rd players is consistent between both.

 

i think we should organize some battles on the NBR server with the amount of people we are here we could easy fill 32 player map and here are players from Noob status to great status and it would be a good shance for people that are Noob's to play with good players and get some points how to get better and have some great fun

In BFBC2 though, I know the ping actually showed transit and processing time through server to other player and back to you, so pings were typically higher than what an actual ping would be (just a packet there and back).

haven't had a chance to play the new B2K yet, been scrimming dota games and working a bit on a paper.

I'd love to help the newer players out, I like to help and teacher other people become better gamers.

 

Just for the record, I added only Karkand maps to my practice server. I think I may switch tickets to 100 so after you cap a few points (or none at all if you're defender) you can switch to the next map rather quickly.

 

What do you mean? I have the Russian version and B2K works great for me. You just buy the expansion, extract a couple of files, change a key in the registry, and play. It takes a total of 2 minutes. If you've already played since the December 6 patch and extracted the files for that, then all you have to do is buy the expansion and play.
