Well, you sure you want to miss out 64 player battles only because it's not on steam? ;)

40 player difference is quite big...

Since EA sucks, I am still going to play BF2 (Or you know what version of such and such) Because in BF2, I can play 126 player (Bots) battles.

Now that, is not even a Battlefield.

    BF 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDDfPxF3EFE
    MW 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axuufVf3Quo
    'nuff said
I mean seriously the MW 3 multiplayer trailer is so much crap, and the BF 3 trailer is just opposite of that. But I am gonna get both, BF3 on PC and MW 3 on PS3/ MW3 is gonna be like a crazy sort of fun, you know like a Michael Bay movie, and BF 3 is gonna be more of a engrossing and addicting game, sort of like The Dark Knight.

Mw3 provides a similar experience on all platforms. If I were to buy one of bf3/mw3 on a console, I would do mw3...

MW3 was designed to be made for consoles, because of the obvious general audience of gamers on consoles.

In fact, I wouldn't want to play BF3 on console if I knew I was playing a botched version of the game compared to the PC version.

MW3 might not be as "big" as BF3, but at least people will expect that MW3 was practically made for the consoles, and getting a full experience of the game of what makes it fun.

I think anyone who liked MW2 style of gameplay will like MW3. Not everyone likes the "immersive war game" that BF3 is. I, for instance, love FPS but I played the beta for BF:BC2 and I didn't like it. I'm a professed run & gun type and that's mainly the market Activision, IW & Treyarch tend to.

As someone rightly mentioned earlier, BF3 has been in the making for the last 5 or so years. IW has had less than half of that time to create a game, and I think "more of the same" with some upgrades and improvements is just what some CoD fans want. I know once I get my machine I'll play it. All in all, they both seem like good games to me.

I didn't like the BF:BC2 beta either. It was buggy and felt clunky. The actual release was much better.

Have any of you guys seen the latest multiplayer trailer? It's absolutely laughable. It's more like MW2 DLC than a whole new game!

SO MUCH TOYS!!! HELICOPTERS AND PORTABLE TVs!!! Why go to RadioShack to buy RC vehicles when you got MW3?

After seeing this, I'm afraid the developers are just trying too hard now.

Both games appeal to completely different ends of the FPS spectrum. Some people like to sit down and rely on reflexes in a run-and-gun, with quake-esq action. Others enjoy a game that is more focused on position rather than reflexes and accuracy. In COD a player can act as a lone wolf, this is not really practical in BF as teamwork is necessary for victory.

Basically what I'm saying is it's stupid to compare the two as they are entirely different in their direction and play-style.

It's not that stupid, as both are military themed first person shooters. It's not like comparing Madden and Starcraft. I do agree that both appeal to different mindsets.

Well, probably why people keep wanting to compare the games is because EA has been boasting, several times, how it's going to take MW3 down. Each other publisher wants their games to be the direct contenders of one another.

I agree, I think most gamers will only pick one game from the "modern-combat" genre, so from a business perspective they are direct competitors, but in terms of gameplay they are very different (something that can't be appreciated by a casual consumer from looking at generic screenshots of iron-sights and middle-eastern environments)

The graphics, the sounds, the weapons and the gameplay look exactly the same as they were in MW2. Why would anyone buy this game? You're just supporting Activision's (Bobby Kodick's) philosophy of releasing a "new", rehashed COD game every year and charging $60 for it.

That's really the whole problem with the COD series. They're not bad games, they are just all extremely similar (the graphics really haven't improved substantially since COD4).

Different games w/ different audiences. But from the looks of the gameplay previews, BF3 will be better because it brings new stuff to the table. Meanwhile MW3 is MW2 with more Activi$ion DLC.

I don't get why you would get MW3 when it's essentially the same as MW2. It makes no sense to me as a consumer why you would buy it. Like seriously, you are just encouraging Activision to continue releasing new, crappy COD's every year and charging you $60 for some (a few) new guns and maps.

Remember Guitar Hero? Yeah, that's where the COD series is headed. Death thanks to Activision's greediness. I am disappointed in you guys.

I like MW for the single player campaigns; pretty fun. I didn't buy Black Ops, so this would be me buying a COD game every 2 years (MW = 07, MW2 = 09, MW3 = 11). Not to mention I do not buy any of the DLCs; since don't play multi.

Releasing a game every year with only a few minor tweaks, I think your confusing MW with perhaps EA Sports.

I'm getting it because even though it's not the most original gameplay, it's still fun. The campaigns are always well done, and I want closure after MW2's ending. And I guarantee I'll still have fun with the multiplayer. The redesigned perk system looks good. Survival mode sounds fun too.

I think BF3 will be more innovative and better game in general judging by bf2 vs mw2 so to say. However i might not get any of those just because i dont like shooters that much. Sometimes i feel the urge to shoot smth — at that point i buy such games but not before.

The only good thing in MW3 will be the new Survival mode and the Campaign. Multiplayer=GARBAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I really hope they try to maintain their epic single player games though. Battlefield series has nothing on them. I won't spend $60 for it, because that's all I'll play is SP, but definitely will pick up at < $20 if the SP is epic like the first two.

I've played BC2 for a bit, got to level 20. And this spawn and die with nothing to fight for just doesn't do it for me. Disabling a m-com, setting it, just so pointless. The squad death matches are even more meaningless and boring.

I like the single player story driven campaigns so I vote for MW3. Modern Warfare 2 campaign was much much better than BC2's. I hope it's not like Black Ops which was just tedious and boring not to mention stupid.

I think the best thing about the battlefield experience(bc2 4 ex) is really about how u get to completing the objective. One thing i will never 4get about playing bc2 is when the attacking team C4'd their own heli's flew over us bailed on the heli and C4'd me and my whole team, LOL it was crazy, they planted the bombs and rushed us while spawning lol, i had to give them props for that, it was epic. And it's things like that, that make battlefield fun to play...

I guess I'm one of the few guys who beg to differ. I play only single player and i found both COD games to be better than BFBC2. That's cuz my broadband is so slow it doesn't deserve to be called broadband and we don't have internet in our college hostels here. So yea.

COD single player is better than BFBC2. The multiplayer is an abomination, though.

And Black Ops was just horrible.
