After looking at the gameplay, I felt it was more like a DLC single player for Battlefield 3.

Yeah I kind of wish they called it Frostbite 2.5 instead of 3. Oh well, my biggest wish for BF4 is improvement destruction and a bugless bf3.

 

Keep wishing, won't happen. Read somewhere that the netcoding for BF was never intended for twitch type games, which is what BF3 has become, it's just an oversized console COD clone with tanks and a bazillion more lame and terrible ways to die.

I will take great pleasure for all those who pre-order and then BF4 having the same issues as BF3 plus at launch server issues. It's not an EA game if it doesn't. I already take great pleasure in reading here on NBR folks complaining everyday about BF3, and then... Play it everyday. It's hilarious. I expect BF4 will be the same. I will call it irony 3.0 to match FB 3.0, which is just FB 2.0, whatever, it's amusing that developers think gamers are stupid and won't notice this crap.

Even if it has higher res textures on the face, it looks the same for everything else, literally. It's the same gigantic gun takin up half your screen. Good to know it will be a whole lot of triangles again, people aiming at triangles, lame. Same running style movement etc. At least they got rid of the blue tint. What happened to that EA? Decided blue tint doesn't make the game it's unique look anymore? ROFL. I hope BF4 is a financial failure. Maybe EA will do something interesting rather than a yearly re-hash. Just cause Activision could do it well with their COD die hards doesn't mean EA should do it too...
- Oh I take back about the blue tint, there is tons of it in the driving scene. And plenty of lens flare and bloom and everything else that is so not realistic. Even movies don't have this crap.
- Oh and better textures? I take that back too. It just looks like tessellation, the most overrated graphics feature of the last 20 years. Which hilariously, neither AMD or Nvidia can get to perform well, even both moron companies keep pushing it. Annoying how both companies keep thinking their hardware is so great for general processing, but whenever you see games using it like TressFX or Tessellation, game performance tanks. What a great feature that is... here is some visual improvements that add nothing to the game, and watch your framerate drop 20...

Also love that some BF3 players in this thread are excited for BF4 knowing the latest DLC for BF3 that they paid for broke the game, that's hilarious. And you want to continue to financially support this IP? I really hope EA announces season pass for BF4 soon at $60, so right off the bat, chumps will spend $120 to pre-order + season pass. C'mon EA DOO EET! BF3 players want to pay $120, DOO EET!

It's not just higher res textures on characters' faces, it's higher res textures everywhere... this game looks significantly better than BF3 did. The characters, environments (especially the forest, compare that to the outdoor levels in BF3,) and facial animations are stunning. BF4 is going to give Crysis 3 a run for its money in the graphics dept.

 

Will have to disagree. It doesn't look significantly better, it looks the same... It's minor and it's just tessellation, that's all. But whatever, I hope you and others pay $120 for this pre-order and then complain it about it here on NBR when DICE still can't even get the basics fixed, not since BC2. DOO EET!

Are you pumped to continue to fight TERRORISTS in a US fuelled false patriotism game!?!?! Yeah... cause it's not the US soldiers who have killed the most civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq... ROFL. Whatever. BF4 will be more like BF2. BF2 chumps pay $60 bucks and $60 for the season pass pre-order. At launch, EA/DICE, Oh kidding, we didn't mean it was going to be like BF2, it's just BF3 with tessellation. Haha, you thought we were serious? Chumps. I've never preordered or payed full price for a Battlefield game. I got BF3 a year after release for 10 bucks on Origin. I only played the campaign. I like the graphics. What, that makes me some brain dead dudebro that fetishizes murdering people of different ethnicities and cultures? Get over yourself lulz

 

Battlefield is no singleplayer game. yes it might be fun but you maybe spend 6hours on it whereas you spend 200+ hours on the multiplayer. How can you say things like netcode and tint havnt been taken care of, whan all you see is SP footage. also where is the blue tint on Endgame? I dont see it. wait for multiplayer before you rant. Everyone knows EA are some money-grabbing s but that doesnt mean BF4 wont be great. Battlefield will never be like BF2 again. deal with it. Guys, stop talking with him (that's what he wants). After all he thinks 5 hour campaigns shouldn't cost million dollars... some people just don't understand how complex sophisticated software is to program = FrostBite2 / CryEngine3. Yes the game looks substantially better in terms of effects (lightning & explosions) / textures (I am sure they also unlocked some features of FrostBite2 as the new consoles will be able to pull them off). Certainly many many thousands of hours were put into upgrading FrostBite2 to FrostBite3.

 

Yeah, I've noticed lol. I'm pretty sure he just hates anything that doesn't run well on his laptop though... hence always bashing PhysX. BF3 ran like garbage on the 7970m back before 12.11, so it probably left him a little that he paid 60 bucks for it and it only ran at 15fps on his $1700 laptop.

 

Yes, I didn't buy BF3. Yup totally, that's why it's sitting in Origin, unistalled, doing nothing. And contrary to hockeymass's opinion, I do in fact buy and play a lot of the games I've complained about, it's why I complain, cause I paid money and spent time with something that is terrible.

Anyway, when you upgrade to your next Alienware, you should get it in brown with a tint of blue and maybe put a shiny US flag on it, to prepare for BF4

Do you mean that it's gonna say "AMD: Gaming Evolved" instead of whispering "Nvidia" at startup? That doesn't really mean a whole lot.

 

The intro will run a lot smoother on <del>ATi</del> AMD cards than on nVidia .

I imagine it'll be more demanding, but you've still got a beastly setup brother rusty. You'll probably be able to run it on mostly high settings. We'll have to wait and see to be sure though.

I really liked the way you can blast your way through unless its linear. And the ability to use vehicles is a plus. The scopes from MOH, vehicle uses and destructibility from BC2 and gameplay/graphics from BF3. It looks like a good stir fry.

 

Game looks great. It'll definitely need some beastly hardware to run it maxed in 60fps. Let alone 120.

 

Ditto. Not sure why some people are saying it looks just like BF3. It's a night and day difference imo. BF3 is starting to look a little dated, especially when compared to Crysis 3. BF4 may end up looking better than Crysis 3. Hard to tell from a youtube vid though.

 

Just look at the screen shoots! They tell you everything you need to know. It's obviously coming for the next gen consoles. That's why it looks so awesome.

Finally the gaming industry can move on after 5 years of hardware limitations. Sigh

For sure, I wasn't expecting quite this much of an improvement, especially in the character models and animation. Their gear bobs and sways realistically as they move; it's little details that like that that I find impressive. I'm glad they're bringing back destructable environments as well.

And I was referring mostly to people in the other BF4 thread that were saying it looks the same, not your previous comment didn't mean it towards you at all.

 

I know bro, I wanted to clarify for the community Game looks amazing, certainly I will up the GPU before it happens BTW there is crazy cloth simulation going on one of the buildings in 17 minute gameplay (when they enter the area swarming with RU squads and construction buildings), also did anyone notice the crazy realistic destruction pattern of one skyscraper in the video? I am still watching the announcement video over and over again, nice little hype

For the people crying all over that BF3 was a fail (guess who?), please stop. The game sold and entertained millions for many hundreds of hours. BF3 was a rare success (with all crazy features of FrostBite2, an engine that after a year and half gone, still holds respectably against many AAA titles) and I am sure BF4 will follow on its foot steps.

For BC3 people, hate to tell you this, but, we have Hawkins mentioned in the gameplay video ( = sequel to BF3 )..

Yes, but it is right that it looks very similar to battlefield 3, but i think this is only because the graphics of battlefield 3 were really good, too.

The biggest BF3 - problem for me were the Servers.
There are no real noob Servers, yesterday i reinstalled Battlefield 3 to play a bit, but it is absolutely discouraging to play vs lvl 100 Hardcoregamers.

I hope they make some Servers for noobs only (0-20) that everyone gets a chance to have fun in this game.
