Wait wut.
Coming this fall.
Mlg cops and robbers.
All ideas about open combat and jets and cool crap like that will be scrapped in favor of really amazing close quarters combat. Dedicated servers allow users to play in 360 no-scope lobbies that reek of 1337.
Dice is not handling the game because they were all like " it, we want to make money EA."
Battlefield Hardline Confirmed for Fall 2014 - IGN
-
So in short this is Call of Duty: Hardline, correct?
However you look at it this is a strange decision. Didn't BF4 release relatively recently? -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
EA decided to make it an annual shooter. -
They reneged on on that... but more or less every other year. Only a matter of time "F(r)ee to Play"
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Thank goodness I haven't bought an EA product in forever. Always funny when BF people bash Call of Duty when EA is no better..
D2 Ultima, killkenny1, Jarhead and 3 others like this. -
Well whatever they decide to do it doesn't concern me. I got BF3 Premium for cheap months ago, and I see no reason to get BF4 or Hardline. In fact I started looking into older titles, BF 2142 anyone?
-
Bf 2142 was the bomb.com
I couldn't get it running on my machines though cause of the lack of 64-bit support. -
Really? It runs perfectly for me, and I have Windows 8.1.1 64bit. What version of Windows are you using?
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I never had an issue with 2142, ran on my old Vista 64 bit rig.

Ha, play Bf2142? You have like <1 month left to play before they take down multiplayer for good. Gamespy is shutting down its servers either by the end of may or june and EA isn't going to do anything about it. (They initially were gonna have some fix for it but then a week later they changed their minds saying it was too hard).
The funny thing is that the BF2 community is working on a solution for being able to play online. Project Reality (BF2 mod) already has their own master server up, so this gamespy thing wont affect them. -
Qtracker is also working on a master server replacement to handle most of the gamespy games:
Qtracker Offers GameSpy Alternative - Blue's News Story
www.qtracker.com/master-gamespy.php
p.s. your overdue for a vist to TGN -
So it's turned into an annual release cycle a la CoD? Well the b@stardization is complete. Bye-bye Battlefield franchise...
This: Revive BF2 - Extend BF2 Past Gamespy
EA is not cool like Bungie, who saved an even older game (Halo PC/Custom Edition) with an official patch. -
EA was always on an annual release cycle. BF:BC2 = 2010, MoH 2010, BF3 = 2011, MoH Warfighter = 2012, BF4 = 2013, new major fps game = 2014. Just because each game didn't have the "battlefield" tag on it doesn't mean it wasn't super rushed. DICE handled both MoH games' MP too (not sure about Warfighter's SP), so DICE has been basically 1 game per year, worse than CoD.
-
BF is a better game than CoD. It simply is. It is flawed, but it doesn't suck nearly as hard as CoD does.
-
I love BF. So now that they are rushing should we just expect another sub-par product? I've made the decision to only buy these games once they go on some crazy sale, and after numerous updates. I'd recommend others do the same.
-
I'm not purchasing any EA products at all. Until they clean up their act and I can see from many people that on release, their games work well, play well, aren't hungrily selling unlocks as DLC and have a substantial enough base game that DLC isn't felt like it's necessary to buy (like how BF:BC2 vietnam was; you never felt like you needed it), then I'll think about seeing if their stuff is on a sale. People need to send enough of a message that they're not going to buy and be happy with rushed, unfinished, half-baked products.
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Are you crying because it sounds like crap, or is it because you still gonna cough up the dough for that game (and all DLC/supermegadooperpremium1337packbuybuybuybuybuy!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!). -
I'm a sheeple. I'll probably buy it. If it's anything like SWAT 4 it will be decent. I loved that game. I'll admit there is a dearth of SWAT and police type shooters out there. As long as it's not COD but more like Tom Clancy style it should be fun.

Don't worry, nothing to see. It's just a copy-and-paste cops-and-robbers mod of BF4.

I bought BF4 back when it was on sale, sometime near last Black Friday iirc. Played maybe... two dozen multiplayer missions after the single-player "plot" *cough*. Then I stopped playing BF4 for good sometime before winter. I wasn't impressed a single bit with how it was, and that's sad considering I used to be a massive Battlefield fan. But playing both the BF and CoD game series, really they're not different anymore.
Needless to say, I'm skipping out on Hardline. And whatever CoD brings to the table. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Heck, if it would be anything near SWAT 4 I myself would buy it ASAP. I freaking love that game. But somehow I doubt EA would make a SWAT like game, gameplay wise I don't think it's a very appealing game for masses.
Wonder how are them SWAT 4 servers today... Damn you, Gamespy!!!
Haha, same here. Way to show off your new game, EA. -
ffs, just disband the battlefield devs, world doesn't need a pile of **** game every year
-
The game BF Hardline looks promising. I cant wait to play this game. Hopefully there aren't that much flaws from this latest game compared to other older versions.
-
Beta's open. Been playing a bit. Feels just like BF4 with a slight twist. It should really be a BF4 add-on to be honest. It's so similar, there's not a whole lot different, yet they're trying to make it into an entirely new/separate game. So far there's cops and robbers basically.
There's two game modes in the beta: blood money and heist. Blood Money both sides try to take money from a point, you can only take so much at once, and have to take it back to your secure point. Of course the trick is to not die while transporting the cash back and also killing the enemy to get their money. Heist you have to set charges on two different money trucks, then escape with the cash. The police have to secure the point, which can take quite a while, and then the robbers have to try to steal again. Same types of classes, just called differently. I would say it'd be worth $20-$25 as an add-on to BF4, but no way $60 as a standalone game.
I think they would have been better off reducing the price of vanilla BF4 to $30, and then selling this packaged with it for $50 or something. That way they could milk both cows. And hope they buy Premium too or at least an add-on or two to BF4. -
Lemme show you guys what BF: Hardline is about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiYXJ8Hbar8
And as a bonus, here's the crane crashing in all its glory! After which the server crashed! BF: Hardline crane fall levolution 1080p max settings - YouTube -
i just got in the beta. it seems more like battlefiel: counter strike to me.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
So it's not even close to SWAT 4? One can dream, though. One can certainly dream...

If you want a Tom Clancy police-type shooter, you're looking at the wrong game unveiled at E3 this week. This should make you happy:

i force enabled sli in the beta and boy does the game run horrible, 40 to 60 fps on ultra but stutters and slows down every time I turn. It also feels exactly like bf4, but IMO looks worse!
-
Wow, that looks really awesome.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/10/e3-2014-breaking-through-rainbow-six-siege
" While the demo mission involves a young girl being held hostage in a house, the developers say they’re building lots of variety into the other missions. Though they weren’t willing to offer any specific examples, they seemed to suggest that previous Rainbow Six levels might serve as a good guide for the scope of missions. Whether we’re deactivating bombs in a hydroelectric plant, stealing plans from a high-rise office, or rescuing scientists on a space shuttle launch platform, it’s clear that the team has more in mind that just residential hostage rescue missions."Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015Mitlov likes this. -
Set it back to nVidia's default settings. The game updated with a 5GB patch a day or two ago; it now uses SLI by default. Your forcing it is probably actually making things worse. Also, I am still on 337.50 drivers and the game randomly started using SLI, so it's not a driver update that's necessary.

Hardline is a joke. It is essentially a BF4 add-on. Same glitches and bad network code. It's an abomination. Funny thing is that there are dozens of servers open, but only a few that are populated.
But I hope that R6 Siege will have a solid single player campaign as well. -
HaloGod2012 Notebook Virtuoso
i used inspector and set the sli profile from bf4, game runs amazing now. Locked 60 fps with vsync on ultra and haven't seen any dips yet on my AW18, my desktop laughs at the game.
-
it runs lighter than bf4. maybe because its only 32 players. ive beeen getting a lot of trade kills. maybe "netcode" issue. sniping doesnt hit unless the target is standing still. even then its a 50-50 chance you might hit. cash system is cool
-
32 players, smaller maps, fewer complex vehicles, less destruction...
-
Running everything at low will minimize hardware latency and make it easier to see enemies
Just saying -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
-
Yeah I have the Beta.
Let's just say it's......... crap -
its still in beta. its hard to say if its worth the $60 or not. the first few matches i played was fun. matches are a bit short; although, it will probably be longer once people get their own servers. sniping is harder than rock. no jets, which is awesome. there are a lot of super pro jets pilots that harass infantry in bf4. ziplines are there. its not bad.
-
But the problem is that it's the same thing, all over again. The only (trivially) meaningful changes made so far are the ones you've mentioned. Sure, maybe EA might add a few more maps, but I highly doubt that EA's going to put a lot of effort into Hardline, if any of their previous, recent games are any indication.
Personally, at best this should be a paid DLC, at worst (for EA) this should be a free DLC. But a $60, stand-alone game? Please....D2 Ultima likes this. -
Logged into Battlelog today and the first thing I got was a Hardline beta invitation. NOPE. No thanks.
-
Trust me, don't use "beta" as an excuse. Beta is "bugfixing" time. This means that everything is almost 100% as they wanted it to be already, and they just want to make sure it isn't crash-tastic on launch. Which, in BF4's case, doesn't even always work. Usually because they use an entirely different build for public betas than they use in the release code; like with Titanfall, which not only ran worse, but also lacked "triple buffered" vsync which was in their "beta" (read: release candidate build chosen for stability so people think the final game will be near-flawless).

BF Crashline, this game crashes every 5 minutes !!!
