I'm suprised no one even mentioned Homeworld 1. That game had such an Epic campaign.

Heroes of might and magic 3 was also an instant Classic.

My Classic Favorites that have some memorable value to me, and that I probably spent more time playing that I shouuld have:

    - Descent 2
    - Battlezone 2
    - Starcraft
    - Mech Warrior 2
    - Civiliation 2
    - Worms (of all sorts)
    - Splinter Cell (all)
    - Jane's F-15
    - Jane's Longbow 2
    - Enemy Engaged Apache-Havok / Comanche-Hokum
    - Falcon 4 (and Allied Force)
    - IL-2 Sturmovik
    - Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed (best racing game ever IMHO)
    - Descent Freespace
    - Quake III Arena
    - C&C Generals / Zero Hour
    - Battlefield 2

Note: for some reason a lot "2" sequels are memorable and not the originals...

You wouldn't mean Raptor would you? I loved that game.
    Also,
    Descent,
    Simcity 2000,
    The Settlers II,
    Commander Keen,
    Sam and Max,
    Day of the Tentacle,
and Full Throttle just to name a few.

I still go back and play a couple of these from time to time.

Full Throttle/The Dig/any LucasArts adventure games (sad to see those go by the wayside)
Dark Forces (The title that turned me from an NES/Console guy to an exclusive PC Gamer for almost a decade)
    Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight 2
    KOTOR
    C&C Red Alert
Unreal Tournament 99 (Still the BEST)
Quake 2 (Forced to Learn WASD+Mouselook by playing this online)
    Half Life
    Duke Nukem 3D
Freespace 2 (Best Space Combat Game EVER and one of my top 5 games of all time)

    and so many more.

Oddly enough, I never got into any of the blizzard games. None of them were bad, but they could never keep my interest.

Indigo Prophecy or Fahrenheits (European Version)

The game is the best action adventure game I ever played.

Homeworld 2, one of the best space themed strategy games I've ever played and still do from time to time.

Republic Commando and Halo 1 are regulars I still dust off from time to time and are favorites at the LAN parties I attend to with some friends.

Played Warcraft II and III from time to time but never really got to finish them.

Recently finished the campaign mode in Star Wars Battlefront II.

And I take even older (but good) games out for a spin on my past generation consoles.

From way back (eg, Before HDD)...

    Beyond Castle Wolfenstein
    Raid on Bungeling Bay
    Ultima III: Exodus
    Bard's Tale
    Questron
    Archon
    Mail Order Monsters
    M.U.L.E.
    Protector
    Blue Max
    Seven Cities of Gold
    Gateway to Apshai
    Summer Games
    Gunship
    Airborne Ranger
    Ziggurat

I still occasionally play Ziggurat, M.U.L.E., and Raid on Bungeling Bay on a C64 emulator...

The only PC games that I really liked from yester-year that I haven't seen mentioned (and yes, I think I read most of the posts)...

Curse of Monkey Island (laugh out loud funny)

System Shock (very intense for its time period)
Terra Nova (awesome FPS back in the day...still does OK although the FMV is cheesy...)
Both of the above from the same developer that did Ultima Underworld

Terminator: Future Shock (Mouselook before Duke Nukem 3D added it...survival oriented environment...ie, more enemies than bullets...and you got to pilot vehicles way before UT2004 did it...)

Panzer General (The only WW2 strategy game I ever finished...)

Wing Commander: Prophecy (Decent FMV...and awesome 3dfx effects...still looks good with a 3dfx sleeve...)

Dark Legions (Updated Archon from SSI...)

I built a computer just for old dos games...
    1 gig hard drive
    700 Mhz Celeron
    2meg Matrox video card
    awe 64 sound

Ms Flight Simulator 5... just because I can.
Pinball Fantasies Deluxe... that gets the most play time.
    Tetris
    WelTris

Some of the games I have will not run properly because of CPU speed issues.
MoSlow can not slow it down enough.
    King of Chicago.
    It Came The Desert.
I lost the key wheel so I can not play Battle of Britain.
I also have an older version of Mame for Dos. ;)

I can't believe it took 7 pages before someone mentioned Total Annihilation.

First true 3-D RTS, hundreds of units, a kickass soundtrack and multiplayer for up to 10 players and released a whole year before Starcraft.

I bought my first computer just to play this.

Mechcommander 1 & 2. They weren't fantastic, but combining BattleMechs and RTS in my book = WIN!
