Blizzard's new splash page.....what new game?

Seriously, we can guess all we want, it'll all be guesses until they finally announce it. I mean they could just be playing their mind tricks on us with this splash page...

 

Maybe it's "Starcraft meets Diablo: be everything you ever wanted to be!".

Im sure blizzard are kidnapping the best game programmers across the world for Diablo 3.

Im hoping it's the expansion pack after Wrath of the Lich King, with a level cap of 100, that would pwn.

 

Could be Xel'Naga related, they engineered the Protoss, and their technology is crystal centric. In the cinematic, Zeratul was telling Raynor that the XelNaga had returned (even though the official version is that there are only 3 races in Starcraft 2, they are probably very important to the story now)

Most likely Wrath of The Lich King release date, but hopefully is Diablo 3, The Sin Wars.

 

i really hope it's diablo 3. i don't want 2 more years of rumors and hints. i want it to come out now (and i also sort of want it to be an MMO )!

 

I would cry right now. Lol I started playing like a month ago and its taken long enough to get to level 35

 

It damn well better not be an MMO, Diablo has to remain a fast paced game. A Guild Wars type of set up would make sense but no more WoW, it sickens me to think about how much money they make with that game.

 

I don't see them announcing another WoW expansion anytime soon.
And I really hope Blizzard doesn't go crazy making an endless number of WoW expansions... In my opinion, there's only so much they can do to advance the story using the MMORPG genre, hopefully they will eventually turn to another genre to further the story line of the series... I hope anyway, I have no plans on playing WoW again anytime soon.

Either way, if they're going to announce a new game (which they might not), I highly doubt it would be another Warcraft or Starcraft game (since they already have one of each announced). So that leaves the Diablo series or a new series... And hopefully it's not another MMORPG.

I still think(and hope) it`s Diablo 3. Both D1 and D2+LOD were awesome,I played over 50 different mods too.

 

Yeah...now I don't know what to think. We've seen symbols from all 3 of their big franchises...And this ice stuff in the middle of it all...

It could be the announcement of Battlenet 2.0?

Or maybe ...WORLD OF BLIZZARD, play every possible character/class from all 3 franchises in one massive MMO!

...but seriously, I'm sticking with Diablo3

I think that the thing hiding behind the ice will be the SC2 release date.

They put the runes there not so much to throw off people, but to create a huge buzz on the internet about it... in which they are brilliantly successful if i may say so.

P.S.

I haven't heard it mentioned anywhere else... but do you guys notice that right next to each of the runes, there is a different smaller symbol. Just something else to get the conspiracy theorists going.

I honestly doubt it will be D3.

It will probably be a WotLK / SC2 info-reveal extravaganza.


I don't know about SC2, but there is a lot of new stuff in the WoW F&F alpha (and the obvious "Deathknights are the most OP class ever to exist" is not one of them). You could easily fill a seminar at WWI with that alone.



P.S. Deathknights are ridiculous even in their unfinished state.

It's got nothing to do with Starcraft II. They wouldn't create so much hype for something they've already announced for a year. It's gonna be something big: Diablo III

 

As much as I want to see a sequel to something, I'm waiting for blizzard to start a new original franchise. Blizzard has a good storytelling ability, I want to see where else they can go.

Blizzard has to stop toying with us, i can't take it anymore I want D3 so badly.

During a Q&A after his speech Pardo was asked to comment on the new game rumors, specifically those pertaining to Diablo III being announced at this years WWI. It doesn't seem to be ice... it seems to be crystal.. Crystal = StarCraft II according to me

Well, now it has broken a bit more, there is an extra symbol that looks sci-fi ish to me, plus you can already see a black sky with starts behind the crystal, so again my vote's for a sc2 release date.... or a 1 in 1000 chance that they have revived ghost.... it aint' gonna be diablo 3.

 

To fuel the speculative fires, go check out gamasutra's job postings. There are 3 positions posted yesterday to work on a "next-gen MMO". Given that they call out which project jobs are for for announced titles, it must be a new MMO under development. Maybe WoW II, but I really hope it would be World of Starcraft.

 

I hope it ain't WoW again.. WoS will also be bad..
Blizzard, this is a piece of advice, if you're trying to make another MMORPG, choose a title that is similar like a RPG, something like Diablo. FYI, Warcraft and Starcraft started out as a RTS, please let it remain so... WoW really tainted the name of Warcraft.

They might announce diablo 3, but that splash, i dont think it has something to do with D3, its definetly related to SC2, or with WotlK by default....but not D3.

I mean, Warcraft is an awesome game, both as MMORPG and RTS, WoW just broke what a game meant for lots of gamers... thats my opinion.

SC2...it just seems amazing.

 

I think Blizzard is just misleading us to believe its Starcraft II, but in fact we're in for a big surprise!
