Borderlands: Your favorite/best weapons & gear

Finally finished the game >.> Man those guardians were a pain sucks that I threw away most of my shock weapons...

Thank god for berserker + shock punch Onwards to playthrough 2!

 

Now is when it gets hard

 

It was harder till I found some insane claass mod and a few good weapons and it ended up being easier in a way. Just have to be on your toes, certain enemies can 1 hit you.

After you beat 2nd playthrough like me is when it gets harder, enemies go above lvl 50, elites become super elites, but drops and items are almost all lvl 48.

 

I think that giant moth thing was the hardest. Dropping napalm bombs from 500feet in the air. I had to play hide and seek under the vehicle spawn to keep from dying, lol. 10 minutes later....whittled it away with the sniper.

 

My top two guns so far... I'm level 26.

So far this is my favorite weapon, found it around level 18, using it since 21, and its still equipped on my Hunter (30). It's the most powerful gun I've seen for its level, all I know is that it literally cuts people in half, time after time lol.

Perfect for Psychos/midgets that run up on you

 

OOO nice gun, since I am just now starting to build my gunslinger tree on my Hunter I would have to have one of those.

 

My Siren has a Fatal Crux shotgun, and it is an awesome weapon. Mine only has a magazine size of 10, but that seems to be plenty... for now .

 

I don't have it (want it) but my friend said he got a shotgun that shoot rockets. I was like "OMG!" but then he told me how it kinda sucked... dissapointed

I was so excited when I bought this in New Haven because it was my first yellow.

then I found a better sniper (possibly, not sure how much more of an impact the fire is)

Bought today (I have another equalizer with 138 dmg, same acc and FR and 6 round clip)

This is the gun I use just about all the time. It's 70x12 damage, and it is beast. Easily one of my favorite guns.



Burst fire gun. Come in real handy. Good damage, fast reload, only wish it was full auto.



Not the best gun, but it's fire damage really stacks up quick.



If only it where as good as it says it is. A shotgun that fire rockets?? How can that not be good? Unfortunately it's not that good.

 

I really wish there was some form of personal and/or cross character storage. It'd be nice to store your novelty guns and transfer any amazing finds between characters.

 

On a console you can just do offline split screen and transfer to a mule character.

On PC its more complicated but still possible. For most people the best thing to do would be have an online friend help you with a transfer in a private game.

Also do not forget the claptrap quests give you inventory expansion, you can get up to 42 slots if you do all the quests.

 

Yeah I know about the friend transfer and claptrap quests. Do you feel like 42 slots is enough?

Finished the main quest last week ending at level 36 as Lilith and these were what I used mainly. All my play was online so everyone else looted most of the good SMGs before I could.


Used this one from Old Haven to the end against the Crimson guys.



Used these against the Guardians at the end. Worked extremely well.


Only SMG I had that worked well on the final boss.

Just started my second go through right now. Have to admit, the weapons are alot better, but the enemies are alot harder too.

Already got a shotgun a little better than the one I have pictured above too, lol.

Now all I am doing is holding out for a good SMG, and maybe a better AR (burst or full auto, don't matter).

 

I beat my second playthrough on my Siren last night and I'm finally level 50. The mobs become a lot harder once you beat playthrough 2. I was looking forward to a third but found out that there isn't one. I'm going to farm New Haven for stuff later tonight and I'll put some screenshots of my SMG. I'm pretty sure I have a revolver and a sniper for my Hunter on there somewhere as well, just need to get it transferred. I really want a Maliwan Hellfire though, still haven't come across one.

 

This game is AMAZING and I have been putting WAY TOO MUCH time into it on the weekends! I have a couple of real nice machine guns now waiting for me at level 40 (I am level 36 I think) and cannot wait till next weekend to get there!

Most likely GOTY for me.

Meh. Level requirement 48, so honestly not that amazing. I mean, the 3000+ damage is cool, but you're only going to be using it on the last half of playthrough 2.

I might be biased though also because I found the launchers in Borderlands entirely useless.

 

Never used them once. Same goes for those things with infinite ammo. Repeaters is next on the almost never used list. Then revolver and shotgun.

 

this is a good launcher due to the 5x larger than normal explosion, its situational but fun. In the hands of a launcher spec brick it would be even better.

infinity ammo weapons are your oh crap last resort weapons incase you run out of ammo in a fight, it happened to me all the time until I got a ammo regen class mod.

 

My current weapons I have been using are 4 revolvers. All 300+dmg, one x2 fire, one x3 shock, one x3 corrosive, and one with ammo regen. One or two also have fast reload times, but I forgot which.


Although, best weapon I have is my bloodwing. I can hit up to 9 people with it, and one shot usually kills them.. I have a level 4 corrosive artifact set up, 15 second reload time, and my classmod gives me +%44. Its great for groups of annoying enemies, and for bosses, it just wallops. Hits them over and over again, and also has a chance to daze. Oh, and it will oneshot all my friends in a duel.

 

I want to play this game so bad now.

My favourite guns right now. I can't remember all exact specs but like this:

Shotgun

X3 Incendiary
16 Clip Size

Revolver
193 DMG
X4 Corrosion
6 Clip Size

With my other skill upgrades in play, Lance Troops are a one shot kill with that Volcano Sniper. And I love how they burn (muah ha ha). Sometimes 2 shots are needed and the odd BadA55 Lancer needs a few good hits. Laser Sighted Turrets are also gone in 2 shots.

I love this game. For me this is THE GOTY. I thought it would be Batman but this game by far has me jonesing to keep playing. The DLC sounds like it'll be a lot of fun too!

This runs like buttah on my 8600GT. At 1280x800 (with a 110 FOV) I have it set to med-high settings, Ambient Occlusion On and it is so smooth. I get the odd lag when I have like 12 Fire Ants jumping me at once but otherwise I have no issues. The .INI tweaks help a bit too I think.

A storage locker for a game of this nature (i.e., discovery and exploration in hopes of finding rarities) is mandatory

 

Got some better weapons not to far in my second playthrough.

My all around Rifle. Burst fire.


Best Shotgun. It's 102 x 11 Damage. Amazing gun.


Good SMG. Full auto, scope, good damage.


I wish the damage was more, but oh well. The Fire damage stacks up SO quick.

hey guys just wondering if someone sometime would like to go treasure for good loot i have 2 lvl 50 a soldier and a siren now working on my hunter so if anyone wants to go just shoot me a friend request my siren has been lucky find rare oranges so if anyones wants to i am always up

 

I just got a pretty sick SMG. I think its a double anarchy...but it shoots 4 bullets at a time. Kinda like a full auto shotgun, lmao. It freaking unloads. I'll put pics up later.



btw....did you guys know that you can run multiple instances of borderlands on the same computer? I wonder if there's a way to manage a split-screen play with this....hmm. I was able to click into one window and play, and click into the other, and play...and set up a lan with myself on a single computer. Just need a way to enable input to both instances at the same time...

 

I have one of those too, its pretty sweet and reloads super fast.

 

I had a x4 SMG too but it was lower level, the problem I found with it is accuracy, I'm not sure of this but the x4 may have increased the recoil as well which maybe why I have my accuracy problem, so I usually had to go up close which I would have used my shotgun otherwise.

I respecced recently to try out the healing since I'm playing more multiplayer, it's pretty fun! It's a good feeling to have a brick run up there and punch someone and I'm spamming my leviathan at the two of them to both blow up the enemy and heal the brick at the same time, it's win-win I need to use my ammo regen class mod though since now you're both shooting at the enemies AND your friends

 

Yea, Here's how I spec my soldier so far...lvl 35ish. (1st pic)

and my alien lightening shot-gun type thing. it does x8 damage. (second pic)

anybody got any good shields? I can never seem to find a balanced one. Either they have high capacity, and slow recharge....or low capacity and high recharge. I can never get any luck when farming. All i get is pretty mid-powered weapons and cheap shields.

Also, what's the highest level elemental modifier? Like I have a level 2 fire for my turret. Do they go to lvl3? Or is that not till the second playthrough?

and finally, a pic of my main rifle I use to cut down those pesky Old Haveniens. (Stomp).

 

For the shield I tend to stick with one of the toughguy shields or healing shields, some of them have better health boosts than others. On my level 50 my shield is 1007 with a 40% health boost. I forget recharge time, but it's almost irrelevant considering how much HP that gives me.

You can get up to level 5 on the elemental modifier. I know I hit at least 3 on my first playthrough, maybe even four. Don't think I hit 5 until a second playthrough.

 

For my main hunter, I either choose between a lower powered healing shield, or a higher powered non-healing shield but with a classmod that gives me +14 Team Health Regen.

 

Here's my main loadout.

Lvl 32 Siren
Lvl 2 Corrosive Artifact

 

The shotgun and the combat rifle I got from someone who was handing out weapons. The rest are my own finds. The grenade mod I use is a level 48 fire longbow. The text in the boxes at the bottom is kinda small, but I made it that way so it'd fit 5 lines. If there's anything that can't be read, let me know and I'll either re-post the screenies or just let you know what it says.

 

Stryde use font size of 14 and it will show 5 lines and take up the whole box properly.

Some nice finds there, I like that purple machine gun, I do not think I have in the whole game ever seen one that was not small clip w/ 3 round burst.

However I was not really looking for one as a Siren, and now as a Hunter I am all about sniper rifles. As I build up my gunslinger tree I may hunt down a few good handguns though.

 

Oh I actually don't use rifles as a Siren either. It's just an item that seemed really good to me so I thought I'd post it up. I only use SMGs and occasionally a sniper rifle as a Siren. As a hunter though I find myself using revolvers the most, followed by sniper of course. I've yet to find a good pistol that isn't a revolver that's good enough for me to use. I've played with you and you're a pretty damn good shot with a sniper so I'll see if I can find any snipers that I'll hold on to for you Vicious.

i've been using one that does about 350 plus the 4x fire, and i thought that was good =P

 

First one is better, its more accurate and only slightly less dmg but it has the 50%+ dmg to crits buff, so if your a good shot even 1 crit will make up the damage difference quickly.

That sniper is .. meh it does high dmg but has no scope.

 

Ya, that's what I was thinking, couldn't decide though.

And I will be dammed, every time I post, I always get something better than I recently had!

Check this out guys...i found a cool glitch that works to my advantage.

I guess whenever you do a quest that rewards a weapon...it puts it into your pack even if it's already full!

I am thinking that you made these with a hex editor. There is no way those guns would have a level 36 requirement. Plus they're all too similar (name, even model number, clip size, etc).

 

The Level 36 came because of my level Proficiency. It is level 48 unequipped.

I am still trying to find the best possible combination.

It is quite challenging and fun

 

Alrighty, I'll finally do it. Here's what I use on my level 50 Siren.


I'm a Siren. I'm supposed to use SMGs.


And though I prefer corrosive, how can you say no to these stats? Plus it's good to have a variety of elemental types because of resistance/vulnerabilities.


I kind of use this more than anything else. It's so overpowered, it crit one shots almost anything. Including many BadMuthas.


Shotguns are some of the best weapons in this game. ESPECIALLY with high elemental.


Usually don't snipe, but sometimes I need it.


Corrosive weapons fo lyfe.

 

That is a little strange they all have the same clip size/level/damage/damage %

You didn't edit those weapons in any way?

I'm all for Moding if you beat the game, just make sure you say there Moded.

 

Those are moded weapons, there is not x3 on those kind of guns normally only x2 plus the level requirements and dmg are off.

Please only post real weapons here not modified ones, there is no point in showing off modded weapons unless we were in a thread specifically for it.

I am a master weapon modder myself but I never take them online, except my infinity ammo mod so I do not have to horde the ammo from other players.
