Borderlands: Your favorite/best weapons & gear

yeah those weapons arent found normally in the game for sure

 

Actually some anarchy SMGs do have x4, but you're right, I've never seen x3 only x2 and x4.

Plus let's be serious. Same brand. Same price. Same clip size. Same base weapon (look at picture). Same ammo regen. Damage way higher than is even in the game on an SMG. Oh, and the biggest give away is that they're all called SV550, when the numbers would be different if they were real variations of the same weapon.

Clearly modded weapons, but I wasn't going to pursue it any farther than I had before.

 

Those SMG are based on a Double Anarchy Gun I found.

Then I Upped the quality then so on and so forth.

Yeah you missed it, because it was not called "your favorite modded/hacked weapons & gear"

And it would have been common courtesy to state you modified them rather than make people scratch there head wondering how/why you found something like that, not everybody knows about editing techniques and in general that kind of stuff is kept low profile as some would consider it cheating.

Level 49 Soldier - I like SMGs. Also how do you modify guns? That would be fun but i'm sure it's too technical for my own good.

Hep, I've been looking for a combustion hellfire like that forever! Dam, was it a drop or in a box? The last Hellfire I found was in a vending machine. I have 2 Hellfires now but seen nothing with as high damage and fire rate. Sh%&, At least I know it's out there.

I got it in a chest in New Haven after beating playthough 2. I was level 50, and after you beat playthough 2 all enemies are level 49,50, or 51, and all chests are level 48 (note level requirement of the weapon).
PM me your gamespy ID. If you can host a game there's a way to dupe weapons as long as you're not host, I wouldn't mind doing that for you.

EDIT: Above is where I got the wildcat... forget where I got the hellfire, but it was obviously before beating playthrough 2... Wasn't in a machine, I can tell you that- I didn't buy any of the above weapons. In fact, I didn't really buy anything except a classmod early on, a shield and grenades where required in those early quests, and occasional ammo.

 

I had a really really nice lvl 24 orange volcano sniper that I bought in a machine that was the best sniper I had until lvl 50 lol.

 

How do you modify guns?

I have this shotgun that shoots ice. When you shoot it on the ground next to an
enemy they freeze and then when i mele them the enemies just break apart. The weapon is a level 60 requirement, $700,000, 635 damage, 95% less recoil, clip size 20. That was the best weapon i ever found!

 

Here's my weapon outload; I'm a level 40 soldier.

Glorious machine gun: damage- 112, accuracy- 84.6, fire rate- 7.6
Savage revolver: damage- 184, accuracy- 89.6, fire rate- 1
Desert Thunder sniper: damage- 513; accuracy- 97.5, fire rate- 2.4
bloody law revolver- damage- 306, accuracy- 88.8, fire rate- 1.6

I also stuck with the wee wees super boaster i think its an amazing shield
My class mod also gives me +11 ammo regeneration...so my ammo and healing are free!

I'm happy with my line-up but i'd like to replace my pistol and revolver with combat rifles of some sort. I don't like to fight close up

I don't really like the serpens, trying to get the S&S draco atm, if anyone has it I'd be willing to trade some pearls for it.

 

My level 48 Equalizer Masher - 261 x 7 damage, somewhat over 90% accuracy, 1.5 rate of fire (much faster with 50 proficiency and a Gunslinger Mod), ammo regen, and lightning-fast reloading. Not so overpowered that the game becomes ridiculously easy (I'm looking at the Maliwan legendaries here - the Defilers, Volcanoes, Hellfires, and Firehawks), but a ton of fun to use.

I wouldn't use modified weapons in game. It really ruins the game, the modified weapons are way overpowered, makes the game extremely boring.

 

Agree, right before I quit playing I tried my hand at modified weps was fun for about a day then realized there was no point in playing.

But went back to my normal guys and still realized there was no point in playing because I was still easily killing everything with my normal weapons, beat all the areas and found all the best gear.

Game did not have high replay value for me and online never worked out like I hoped it would with people running in there own directions, hogging loot, not being the right level for your game...

So I quit long ago before they started to rip people off by making them buy the game all over again for a few expansions.

 

I recommend you guys to download the General Knoxx DLC; it adds a lot more opportunities for getting orange weapons (like, enough to completely forget about purple and yellow) and also adds cyan weapons, which are extremely hard (or boring) to find.





These I got after killing certain giant purple lobster about 50+ times.

 

i hate that there are so many hackers online in this game :S

 

Actually the purple shotgun that I posted with my character is probably my favorite so far.

Pearls don't have a good damage shotgun and all the orange shotguns had very weird spread or other useless properties.

 

I still haven't found any pearlescents

I'm a level 50 siren, trying to kill Crawmerax sometime . My favorites:

Sirens are good with SMGs, I get addicted to ammo regeneration:


Not-so-strong shield, but so far it's the only one that regenerates health fast. I heard the Wee Wee King's shield does the same, but its capacity is not great:


My favorite SMG, Hellfire. It's good because as long as I can hit the enemy a couple of times, they'll catch fire, and I can go do something else while they take damage. Unlike non-elemental weapons, I spend much less time on each enemy. I realized I can't really use non-scoped weapons


My Anarchy, useful for close range fights, like with Spiderants, Maniacs, Principal Guardians and Devastators:


For shooting the Arch / Sera Guardians near the Vault: with high damage (x2), low recoil, fast rate of fire, it does a lot of damage at mid-distances quickly:


Long-range weapon. For sniper rifles, I consider only those with 2.4 zoom or more:


This almost replaced my Anarchy. It didn't because the fire rate is much lower:


For the first playthrough I used The Spy extensively. After finding Hellfire I stopped using that.

 

My current setup is this (ignore the level reqs because they are currently equipped, they are all level 61):





The shotgun was mentioned before. Even though it's purple I still use it a lot and it is one of my favorites, probably because I'm a soldier and I get some nice skills for it.
All the other weapons are maxed.

Shield I use, another thing to note with it is that it has extreme shock resistance which is a big advantage since the all shields are weak to shock:


Mod, really love the extra magazine size cuz I practically never reload:

Clip has max ammo I can carry (1140 I think) and fires all of it in about 10 seconds.
