If GM200 turns out to be a monolithic GPU on 28nm, I'm gonna have to skip it too. At this rate, my X99 desktop is never gonna get built. :(

Nvidia 'Big Daddy' Maxwell GM200 GPU Alleged Specs Leaked - GTX 980 Ti or GTX Titan X?

If Nvidia has thoughts on porting the technology to 20nm, it will be for the entire Maxwell frigate. They will first test it on GM206 and GM204 before even moving on to GM200. The question is - Is Nvidia really thinking about it when TSMC has already announced 16nm Finfet mass production by Q42015.

Its gonna be hell for us too :D
Having a piece of expensive 28nm hardware in our laptop when you know 20nm is out there in front of you (with better specs and power efficiency).

Even I would expect it to be a lot beefier. However the interesting thing about the rumor is - GM200 is actually in works and Q42014 seems to be a good date to counter AMD plans. Also based on the GM204 architecture I believe it can be scaled further.

The actual specs in the article are just plain rumors at this point and we should wait for further leaks and hopefully some benchmarks.

Completely OT but I think we're beyond that now.

Tore down my old build in the Enthoo Luxe, and rebuilt it in the Enthoo Primo. What a night and day difference. Not only is the Primo MUCH roomier (as in, there's enough space to fit ELEVEN 140mm fans + another two 120mm fans), but the build quality is obviously superior. Should've went with my gut and sprung for the Primo the first time, but I guess the Luxe's lights blinded me.

The Luxe is advertised as a full tower, but the interior layout makes it feel more like a mid tower. Enthoo Primo very nicely fills the gap between "full" towers and the monster super towers that are the 900D and Cosmos II. I don't know where I'd be had Phanteks not released this awesome case.

And with that we've come full circle.

I love both of these pictures and they are both actually relevant. Not like the second one is ever going to happen hahaha.

Unfortunately at this stage in the industry, this may very well be the case. 20nm on TSMC doesn't look extremely compelling at the moment, it is barely better than mature 28nm, plus the cost is only minimally better.
GM200 on an immature 20nm node with poor yields may cost almost as much as trying to fab 600mm squared + chips on 28nm.
