Works great (after a reinstall) on my Asus Gv0VT-X1, native resolution (1366x876), everything high, 4xAA, so SSAO (SSAO slows it down a lot). Logitech dual action gamepad works from the get-go as well, it even correctly labels the buttons starting at 1, not 0.
Also: the game is a ton of fun, just the arcade racer I've been waiting for on PC since NFS: Most Wanted.

how do i restart a race ? i cant seem to find it in the clunky menu system lol
and is anyone else finding it it hard to drive real fast and plan route thru mini map at the same time without crashing? the amount of times ive turned to early or late for a turn due to indicator lights on my car, the minimap and the street signs... well its only a matter of time before i have the city mapped out in my head -
Keep at it, man
You'll get the hang of it -

SSAO brings my system to its knees, registering an average of about 17fps. -
Guys, how do I play multiplayer with this game. I purchase the real game.
We should get a game going. -
wow, this game was pretty well optimised

9800M GT on Intel Core 2 duo T9300 (2.5GHz each) on 4GB 32bit OS Vista
Runs GREAT on 1920x1200 high graphics no AA. No noticable slowdown whatsoever. When AA is on, it does have few spots where it does lag for brief moment. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
been playing for hours what a great game
played online for a while as well, winning a couple of games
i had it on high,
i have no idea what SSAO is but putting that on made the game run really slow -
nice, may have to put this on my list of games to buy after I finish GTA4, Fallout3, and Mass Effect (yup still working on those).
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i havent seen played any of them
GTA 4 really interested in but after hearing about problems i removed it from my list -

Hey guys,
I've asked this on many other forums and all the people with the same problem were trying to run it on a notebook too but you guys don't seem to have probs.
So...
I installed the demo and wanted to play. I start it up and about 10 seconds into the initial loading screen it craps out on me. I tried reinstalling it and everything but nothing helped.
I have a Dell XPS M1530 with a core 2 duo T7250,2 gigs of ram and a 8600M GT,OS is vista ultimate.
The drivers are all up to date and everything but it just doesn't work
Any of you guys have an idea what the problem might be? I'm pretty bummed about this since I loved burnout paradise when I tried it on the ps3 and now want to play it with my buddies on PC. -
been playing on my m17..is it me or when u start driving extremely fast...with turbo...the game feels jittery or like the frames drop a little compared to normal speed?
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
anyone want to have some games online?
-
-
Sorry, I don`t like it, just have no idea what to do in this game
Any pointers? -
-
OK so someone from the EA nation forum got it to run by setting all the exes in the burnout folder to run on win xp compatibility mode. Now I at least get past the criterion logo but then the game freezes. I'm left with a black screen and a cursor that doesn't move.
I'm pretty desperate right now,why can't it just work
Anyone got any ideas how I could fix this mess? -
Daray whats wrong with burnout paradise not working. If its not installing make sure you extract the demo installer to a folder then hit setup.exe
Or just reinstall the game. Also update or reinstall your graphic drivers, that might be a b****H but just try it.
Post back if it helps -
Could it be down to the settings in the nVidia control panel? -
Is the actual game only 4GB? That sounds hard to believe because the demo alone is more than that..
-
the demo was the whole game i believe , cos the "trial" version lets u use the whole map and a handful of cars, but as soon as u input a valid cd key into the demo the whole game is unlocked
-
.
And yes - the "demo" is the full version with limited amount of gameplay. -

like some, i preferred the game play in the previous versions...i really din like to go around finding shops and stuffs. and i hate to keep checking back to the map in the races coz one wrong turn and u will lose.
racing game shldnt have a pause....they shld give directions instead.
im not so anal about them introducing bikes coz im a fanatic. but having boost in bikes would have been cool! -
I love taht feature that you can go anywhere during the game it makes it more fun. Also where is the cops in this game.
Can't p[lay tonite so i pm you if you want to play. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
maybe the cops are going to be added in that cops and robbers DLC?
i agree it would have been better if their were cops
send me a PM with ya MSN and we can chat about it, would be cool -
in game when you go to the burnout store you see the cops part but i wonder when its comming out.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
yeah i heard that its been announced on a website, it didnt say when it would be released though
-
I can't wait to that comes out. You know what kind of pisses me off is that you can't make you own level or they dont have a level editor in which you make your own ramps and stuff. That would be cool.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i think with a city this big i dont think it would work
it could be okay if you could create your own races like set where they have to go and what checkpoints they must go through
would be cool if you got money for winning races and you could buy the vehicles and houses, i think them giving the cars and bikes after completing a certain amount of races isnt that great and making it so that once you get to a certain level you can redo races youve already done to get the counter down and very stupid - once you have done a race you shouldnt be able to do it again when you have leveled up the driving license to get more races don -
Hmmm, strange. Pricing seems opposite of what it should be. PC version is $39.99, PS3 & X360 versions are $19.99. Is there anything substantially better on the PC version?
-
Yes,graphics
-
Enough to justify $20 more?
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
thats quite the price difference, im sure in the UK its the other way round with the PC version being cheaper
-
It will definitally go down in price by 2 months

i dunno...but for me...i just need some mindless speed adrenaline. -
I'm look at getting Burnout Paradise for my PC, but I've got a question.
I've read that Burnout Paradise uses in game advertising. My internet connection has quite a low cap, and I'd prefer the game not to be connecting to the internet to download advertising (I'd probably play mostly the singleplayer portion). Will Burnout Paradise still work if I block it from connecting with my firewall? -
-
Thanks for the info
Also - Does that mean it contains the bike pack or not?? -
-
Console version costs 20$ because it doesnt have the Party Pack.
It's a add-on for 9.99$.
ALL other DLC's except the latest (Party Pack) have been free. Bikes and such have been in the game for a long time. -
Thanks for clearing that up guys
all makes sense now -
Is Burnout Paradise ok for single player only? On the box it says something to the extent that if you like to play games with your friends this game is for you.
I don't have any friends. lol. Well, at least none that will play this game with me.
Thanks. -
-
So you're saying you can race single player then?
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
im surprised at just how much time i have spent on multiplayer - its very addictive
