This new video by DF does some talking about what I'm saying. They made some interesting decisions to use SSR + RT which worked around RT issues with particle effects. Pretty ingenious. I'm sure future iterations of RT algorithms and render passes will probably take these into account.

yeah but why use draw textures vs pictures....msfs 2021 does this

not sure why i HAVE TO RUN WINdowed mode to get 60fps but it works and its truely awesome having a 50in 4k screen 2 feet from your face, just awesome
-
also Id like too add...I was running 4k maxed and was getting less than 1 fps with my 1650 lol..such a gap between the best and worst cards...why though the actual cost of the chips remains pennies for all of them....x>y x=y in cost why not release just X
-
It costs billions of dollars and years of time from R&D to product launch and marketing and everything wrapped up in it. They can't sell them for pennies. Manuel is probably raking in 6 figures to just talk to people on the forums...JRE84 likes this.

but millions over millions is still cents....they make crazy profits regardless
i guess what im trying to say is when x=1000000 and they produce y at 50cents and y quantity is 2000000 its x/y x 50 cents = crazy profit margin -
for some reason crysis 3 looks like it has better special effects not sure if im tripping or it got an update

ok this is mad...crysis keeps getting updated...i have so much respect for crytek now because of the whole for the gamers attitude

Any new update? The last patch was about 3 months ago. Am I missing something?
-
they are doing small tweaks...
-
Without releasing any patches, I don’t think it is possible to tweak anything…
If you’re doing beta testing for Crytek, do you know when the next update will be released? I hope they will also fix the ugly low FPS vegetation animation.JRE84 likes this. -
i have epic version....think thats the only one and usually it will say updating download then it will start....the last patch adding dlss was a pretty huge deal...perhaps im just noticing all the little changes they made 3 months ago..the game just looks wild now

i'd go as far as to say this is the best looking game lighting wise on pc

All the crysis games are getting a remaster? This is awesome news!
After playing some newer games and finally starting Crysis 3, the graphics look kinda mediocre to me. Everything just looks off. A remaster with improved graphics is very welcome.
Let's just hope they'll be well optimized. I don't want to see people marveling at how their super high end rigs can run Crysis at max settings at 30-60 fps. That's just stupid. Software should run well on the hardware available at the time of the game's release.
Reexperiencing the entire trilogy at 144 fps is gonna be awesome! -
I would like them to do a remaster of Crysis Warhead as well. Personally i enjoyed it more than the original Crysis.
But it still good news!. -
i like crysis 1 the most for messing around but yes warhead is just funner -
Same here. Crysis Warhead is a laggy, unoptimized piece of crap that will not run at 120 fps no matter what I do. It sorely needs CPU side optimization. It is a pretty fun game, but the performance issue is a real turn off for me. I never finished it as a result.

I recall Warhead was better optimized than the original Crysis, which may not be saying much, but I never had performance issues with it. If you didn't finish the game you missed out ...the last level is tons of fun.

That is strange because Warhead has better optimization than the original Crysis
I would like to play it again but sadly i cant play it on my current laptop with Windows 10 because it refuses to load no matter what i tryClamibot likes this. -
I played it just fine tho. Performance issues were fixed by using timerresolution and setting it to 1msClamibot likes this.

Another utility to add to my arsenal. Thanks!
-
What version you do have? When i tried to play the original copy it refuses to load but Crysis worked which is strange. I dont wanna buy the steam version because it cost $20 right now and i already bought the game about 10 years ago.
-
Not sure, it was a DVD. I downloaded and installed the DX11 patch manually
-
I do not have Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead installed in PC right now but last time Method 1 was working for my Crysis Warhead Steam version. You can try it but please make backup of the original folder and files in case something goes wrong.

I managed to fix it and now i can finally play the game!.
I had to install the patch that adds the 64bit executable/files which it didnt have which is strange. When trying to run the game in 32-bit mode it refuses to load. -
The entire trilogy is getting a remaster!

It'll be awesome to relive the entire trilogy with updated graphics and enhanced performance.
Also on another note, Crysis Remastered is going to be on Steam soon. The store page is already there. I'm glad I waited. Once the next 2 release on the EGS, just wait a year to get them on Steam if you want them on Steam like me. -

I just played through Crysis 1(legacy 2007) with the Enhanced Edition mod installed.
Uninstalling the Remaster and never touching it again, period.
What they have done here is insane.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/crysis-enhanced-edition
I didn't expect a game from 2007 to look better than Cyberpunk 2077.
The reshade+reworked materials makes it look so photorealistic that it straight up looks like DSLR footage(especially in the mid day TOD setting) . Nothing I have seen comes this close, sans the UE5 tech demo.
-Remaster looks like dog **** now, only thing it's got going for it is slightly better CPU threading and Ray Tracing.Last edited: Sep 13, 2021 -
remastered looks great also.....but im a mod user also and love the crysis mods....

It looks like they stripped the new cryengine of like half the feature set of the original, looks even better ingame ! Even the draw distance is like for like with the mod, only CPU threading is bad.. -

Almost everything looks better, like atleast a generation better.. Notice they added a ton more vegetation and reworked most of the lighting. Also volumetric fog is completely missing from the new one seen on the cliffside. I just realized that
And the colours on the remaster are a joke..

you should check out the black fire mod and play with its presets....and use hd texture pack by rygel

Blackfire lighting looks unnatural, the colours & shadows seem oversaturated.
Also this mod has better textures than Rygel. -
some people prefer that look.....kinda like favoring a parrots colors over a pigeons

Try the enhanced mod+authors reshade preset and play most of the way into the first level if you havent already. It's like some black magic for photorealism. -

ironically in crysis and thats the only exception i prefer the pigeon also...crysis was aiming for photo realism....and too enhance that is a one up....however thats not to say remastered is ugly.....i just think we have enough sunset drive esqe games
-
Kunal Shrivastava Notebook Consultant
Agreed. Completely. That's why I said photorealistic.
For example in this screenshot the hillsides with the volumetric fog and sunshafts go into uncanny valley photorealism. I have never seen a video game do this before. Not to mention the sheer amount of added clutter in this scene...It almost made me feel like I was in Hawaii
Perfection...
-
yeah that looks really nice ima go check it out

Just lock the game to 30 and force on vsync and max out motion blur. Explosions(exploding cars especially) and particles hit the cpu exceptionally hard.
Also turn on ultra low latency mode in the control panel.JRE84 likes this.
But Can It Run Crysis?
