Well are you expecting the PC version to be a port of the PS3/360 remaster as well? I'm not.
-
Crytek would be STUPID to phone in the PC version of Crysis Remastered. The legacy, even if it's just mostly a psychological repetition based mind share meme, is just too popular. The fact that they had to backtrack from the initial announcement is a little scary, but hopefully they do some soul searching and realize ruining the "can it run Crysis" meme in one fell swoop wouldn't be a good idea.

I’m expecting it to be an enhanced version of the Switch port, which was based on the PS360 CE3 build not the CE2 original.JRE84 likes this. -
See, even Digital Foundry concludes the Switch port was built from the PS3/360 branch because it's such a weaker device,
This should tell us that it is its own thing, separate from the work being done for PC/PS4/Xbox.JRE84 likes this. -

The non-Switch screenshots don’t look like their own thing at all...

why are you just arguing just for the sake of arguing?
xbox one ps4 and pc will not be based off switch or xbox 360 versions crytek made that very clear...they are delaying and they have always had the best looking games everytime..they have never not released the best looking games of the generation..Like I don't know where youv;e been for the last 20 years but valve and crytek as well as cdprojekt red are tops.
google is your best friend....grabbed right from googles top link
The upcoming Crysis Remastered has been delayed after a leaked trailer disappointed fans with uncharacteristically poor visuals for the franchise. Crysis, released in 2007, became famous for its impressive graphics and infamous for its inability to run on low-to-mid-tier PCs. -

If you think Crytek can make a proper current-gen remake after such a short delay, I've got a bridge to sell you.JRE84 likes this. -

I haven't heard anything, but I've got enough going on at work that I haven't had time to pay attention or check.
-
Last i heard about it that they delayed the PC, XBOX, PS4 versions so they can polish it up somewhat. It still might be released this month but no clue when.JRE84 likes this.

I'm in the camp of I've already played it a couple times, that was probably enough. I think a remaster done well would do good to bring new people on board and service people that have a high level of Crysis nostalgia, but Crysis doesn't hold enough of a warm spot for me to care much one way or the other. I think maybe Crysis just isn't old enough for me to think the graphics are in that much of a need of polishing. If they just patched it to utilize cores better for modern hardware that would probably be fine, but they need money I guess and if they are going to remaster it they should be "In for a penny, in for a pound" and do it right. It's probably a really good idea to delay it, not sure what the hell they were thinking if that video was what they were going to release.TR2N likes this.

I'm super happy the System Shock remake is happening. That's a game that was way ahead of it's time, I think my friends at the time got tired of me talking about it. It's in dire need of modernization of the controls and engine to retell that story. It's still a good game even in it's 1994 state, but it's super difficult to play. The Enhanced Edition made it a little better, but, after playing the new demo of the remake, that's where it's really at.katalin_2003 likes this.

A New much better looking trailer but it looks like it's only launching on Epic game store? (or at least initially)hfm likes this. -
Need to see more but that might be impressive. Can't wait until Digital Foundry gets a preview copy.
DLSS and RTX support is great to see.
Epic Game Store doesn't bother me much.hfm likes this. -
Yeah that's more like it. If it's priced competitively $29.99? I might consider it.Kevin likes this.

The funny thing is that I've only really played the second game. I finished that one and then started the first. I've never played the third, but I do own the entire trilogy. I got caught up in other games and haven't touched the Crysis series for a few years.
I'm glad this remaster is coming. The original is a laggy unoptimized piece of crap (for today's systems), which is in no way Crytek's fault. They optimized for single core performance, not multicore performance since everyone was expecting Intel to produce 10 GHz CPUs in the future at that time.
Now I can finally enjoy the first game at 120 fps at long last.hfm likes this. -
I've finished both of them. I think I might have completed the first one to the end after playing the 2nd one. I recall liking both of them. The third one I did like, but I didn't progress far until my attention went to something else.

hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
I finished all 4 Crysis games that Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3. Like Crysis 1 and Warhead more then 2 and 3 due to its openworld play style however 2 and 3's linear style was what I didn't like in them.

I beat all of them also crysis in order of release is in order of best to worst crysis 1 being the best and crysis 3 being the worst. Mind you crysis 3 is still king of graphics

I'm on a cell phone and limited?but the new crysis remastered lòoks amazing and I'm glad they did a one up over previous.

I remember the first time I played Crysis. It was on my beautiful Dell XPS M1530 (Core 2 Duo @2.0 GHz / NVIDIA 8600M GT GDDR3 / 4 GB RAM DDR2) and I was amazed. I thought "this game is truly next gen, beyond every PS3 game". The god rays, the depth of field, the motion blur, photo realistic textures, the water realism! OMG I even showed the game to my mom lol... And probably something that not much people spots is the physics on this game are truly way ahead it's time. The bending vegetation (some early PS4 games didn't even had bending vegetation), you can destroy trees, and houses and pretty much grab every object, even now days we don't get physics as good.
And I desagree, Crysis 1 is one of the games that benefits most of SLI and uses 100% GPU and is not being bottlenecked by the CPU, which is good optimization in my book -
Did you see the ray tracing in that elevator?!? looked so lifelike

Now this is looking good...I thought msfs 2020 had the best graphics...did you guys see the updated textures on Xbox one x looks better than ghost recons...cant imagine the PC version...these guys are going overboard..unreal and this is beta

Apparently the new remaster will have a "Can it run Crysis?" gfx setting

dude has anyone else seen the trailer? the game looks better than rdr2
-
-
yeah but just like msfs 2020 they went too far...which I guess is what everyone wanted in the end...but im happy crysis will be king of videogames once again, I hope they go even more overboard with the graphics in the next week or so. why I say overboard and too much apparently they are using 8k textures and man I don't know anyone with 8k anything
-
MFS is just unoptimised imo. It doesn't look THAT good considering how much performance it needs.
-
ill double post this too put it to rest
and to add to the arguement msfs 2020 simply put is photo realistic and uses high resolution images as textures.. how on earth in the next 10 years can it get better. game is literally 10 years ahead of it's timeLast edited: Sep 11, 2020TR2N likes this. -
MSFS is a marvelous technical acheivement. I mean I have a paltry 15W CPU and a 2070 eGPU over TB3 and I think it performs perfectly fine and looks great for a flight simulator. The only thing I get annoyed by is the load times.

well here we are 3 more days and we get to see a game with 8k textures and ray tracing as well as the only game ever to be upgraded in everyway in less than 2 months. hopefully crytek can meet my expectations and if they do like other average gamers they will have a hit yet again

How long is this going to be an EGS exclusive?
-
I dont know but I was against egs and did not buy exodus and other exclusive games but crysis...yeah day one for me
-
Seems everyone that was soap-boxing and pitchfork and torching EGS has a price for their feigned principles.
-
yeah I'm not going to wait a year for this just because I have too many launchers and hate EGS
-
saturnotaku Notebook Nobel Laureate
When Epic started pulling their nonsense of taking Kickstarter games that were supposed to be on Steam, I deleted my EGS account (losing the free copy of Metro Exodus from my RTX 2070 purchase). I also got refunded for my second Shenmue 3 Kickstarter pledge and moved my primary one to PS4. My desire to see Crysis Remastered does not override that of needing to create a new EGS account to play it. So no, not everyone who has stood in opposition to them has compromised their beliefs. -
Shrug. I don't run any of them unless I'm playing a game and then I shut them back down afterward (yes.. Steam too). To be clear, you don't even need to have EGS running to play the game, you can just launch the executable directly. I did this with Control since my launcher didn't have support for EGS games directly at the time, only like 3 hours of my playtime ended up getting recorded through EGS since my launcher was just scanning for executables in the EGS library folder.
It's not like Steam where it starts up because the API integration within the game forces it to.JRE84 likes this. -
yeah crysis is currently my favorite and most played game it's not a hard descision
-
What I'm really hoping is that this remaster turns into a reboot of the crysis franchise, writing off crysis 2 and crysis 3and then starting anew
-
haha I'm so excited and no I cannot run crysis.
Very very demanding game, back as the king of graphics!! he hints of crysis 4 by accident. and this video shows in game almost maxed out on PC
Funny thing is its lagging and they are probably using a 2080ti, and this makes me happy, thoughts? -
Besides the ray tracing, and the blurred image the game looks pretty similar to me. At least now is fully compatible with Windows 10
-
?
blurry?
the same? everything\ all assets even ray tracing is in 8k this has never been done before -
Yeah that's why I said "it looks the same to me". I don't own an 8k monitor. In fact my laptop's screen is 1080p, so I can't enjoy those ultra hi-res assets. I see the image blurry, maybe the dude is playing with a lot of AA or too much motion blur. Or maybe he's using FXAA + TXAA like new gamesJRE84 likes this.

their is alot of fuss about this game as it stands, and it is going to be king in one day but im worried about performance 1660ti recommended and 1050ti min...their 2080ti can't even max it out at 1080p
But Can It Run Crysis?
