i am under the impression this is the best looking game for iq on all low.....correct me if im wrong but far cry 5 was similar both used to use cry engine and now developed by diff companies its funny how the main ideologies stayed the same as far as graphics are concerned

i dont see much diff between all on ultra vs all low...anyone else?
-
The game already looks really good on low settings, dare I say slightly better than the original on the highest settings. It also performs way better too. The only difference I notice between all low and all ultra is that all ultra lags really badly. Crysis Remastered on all low looks like all ultra in any other game.
Raising the settings above low only seems to artifically stress your hardware without increasing the visual fidelity by a noticeable amount, with the exception of view distance. The "Can It Run Crysis?" settings only serve as a showcase for how unoptimized the game can be. As a programmer, this disgusts me.
Don't get me wrong. I love Crysis, and I'm really glad Crytek did this remaster since it improved performance by a LOT over the original. I just think the higher graphics settings are unnecessary since they don't add anything. They don't make the game look better, and they make it lag. The only one that makes a difference is view distance.
In short, all low is Lag Off while all ultra is Lag On.Last edited: Feb 24, 2021 -
lol yeah thats perfect dude...completely agree
-
like i agree low looks better than breakpoint and cyberpunk 2077 but why not boost it further to make it a true successor

It's already more than 2 months since the last update. I hope the next update would be a major one.

i honestly don't know how they will be able to make it look better without changing polygon counts...which they have already done
-
i went back to the original with black fires mod not because it looks better but because of the mouse lag its hard to aim vs original...and once you aim at the enemies they instantly move very annoying, they made the game with a modified crysis 3 engine and just like crysis three the lag is awful....doesnt feel snappy like warhead or cs go ect.
anyone else annoyed by the mouse input lag or is it just me?seanwee likes this. -
Crysis Remastered PC Update 2.1 - DLSS Update! Finally!
Downloading it now.JRE84 likes this. -
ripped from cryteks site
Crytek has released a brand new PC update for Crysis Remastered. According to the release notes, Patch 2.1 adds support for NVIDIA’s DLSS tech.
However, it appears that there are some graphical issues with DLSS. As Crytek noted, some distant textures can appear to be blurred textures when DLSS is active.
In addition, this patch brings numerous bug fixes. For instance, it fixes some shadows that would disappear depending on the camera angle on Contact – Island. It also fixes some disappearing prompts from the Classic Nanosuit wheel. Additionally, this update improves stability by fixing a number of crashes.
As always, Epic Games Store will download this latest update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.\
Crysis Remastered PC Patch 2.1 Release Notes
General
- Added DLSS by Nvidia to Crysis Remastered.
- Improvements made to the tutorial descriptions in all languages. Corrected many placeholders and incorrect prompts.
- Fixed an issue that caused the rocket tutorial prompt to not be correctly displayed in Traditional Chinese.
- Fixed an issue that caused the camera shake to be too intense while using the mounted MG with armor mode enabled.
- Also fixed an issue that prevented the alien AI from exploding which prevented mission progress on Exodus, Fleet and Paradise Lost.
- Fixed an issue that resulted in Armor mode being active at the beginning of a mission.
- Fixed the missing audio tied to the SCAR in the intro cutscene on Ascension.
- Also fixed a CRYENGINE crash that could occur on Exodus – Sphere.
- Fixed the translations of the Classic Nanosuit mode control tutorial in all languages (previously only shown in English).
- Fixed an issue that caused the controller tutorial prompts to display mouse and keyboard instead throughout the game.
- Also fixed a crash that could occur on Reckoning – Fleet.
- Fixed an issue that resulted in the FPS counter showing the incorrect information.
- Fixed several bugs that caused the incorrect information to be displayed in the tutorial prompts for the controller.
- Also fixed several tutorial descriptions that would appear in the wrong languages when using the Traditional Chinese language settings.
- Fixed a missing tutorial prompt from the VTOL rockets in the Traditional Chinese language on Ascension.
- Fixed a placeholder from the “fire minigun” tutorial prompt on Ascension when using mouse & keyboard.
- Also fixed an issue that resulted in the English translations appearing for the Classic Nanosuit controls tutorial when using other languages.
- Fixed some Italian localisation issues (removed placeholders and added correct text).
- Fixed an issue that caused placeholders to appear in the HUD when the Japanese language was selected.
- Also fixed an issue that occurred when trying to ADS on any mounted machine gun while using a controller. Previously this would incorrectly activate the cloak instead of aiming down sights.
- Fixed an issue with the animations for some CEPH scouts.
- Fixed several placeholders that appear in the Classic Nanosuit menu.
- Also fixed some shadows that would disappear depending on the camera angle on Contact – Island.
- Fixed some disappearing prompts from the Classic Nanosuit wheel.
- Some distant textures can appear blurry when DLSS is ON.
- In some cases, you may encounter motion blur issues on some systems. Deactivating motion blur will resolve this matter.
- The windows for civilian trucks may have yellow windows when Raytracing is set to “Very High” or “Can it Run Crysis”.
- Anti-Aliasing is disabled with DLSS by design. However, the menu will still show that it is set to active when DLSS is enabled.

Crysis got another optimization update whaaaaaaat?
I'm waiting for it to come to steam. I'm getting fed up with having to have more and more launchers that split my library further. Some of my games even require two launchers running at the same time to work, which is pretty stupid.
Back to topic, it's awesome to see Crysis Remastered getting these updates.seanwee likes this. -

Nice. Game might actually be fully fixed once EGS exclusivity ends.

It looks like it performs really well on low settings too.
I'm glad I wait a year or two at the very least before getting a game. Usually all the problems with the game at launch have been fixed by that time, not to mention it becomes cheaper too. My hard cap is $20 a game. I won't spend more than that. I'm looking forward to seeing it on sale on steam. -

Look better than ultra in most games from a decade ago, maybe...
-
you mean 5 years ago.....crysis 1 looked better on ultra than other games on ultra for a decade roughly 2017.....farcry 3-4 being an example.....this remastered cannot be touched
farcry 5
crysis
yes the mountains look nice but crysis is untouchableLast edited: Mar 12, 2021Clamibot likes this. -

Witcher 2, Crysis 2, and Battlefield 3 came out nearly a decade ago...
-
bf3 crysis 2 the witcher 2 are not as good looking.....crysis 2 was a downgrade
-
I think Crysis Remastered is too bright. Lowered the gamma setting a bit (around 40%) improved the visual. Default slider position is around 52-53%.
So far I’m happy with DLSS 2.0 boosted performance. However, this game is still CPU limited. I hope the developers can improve this in future updates.hfm likes this. -
at first I was only using 4 cores....then they updated the game and it was using 6 cores now its back to 4 cores not sure why...but yeah its cpu limited now

The foliage is far better as is the shadows and global illumination and ambient occlusion.
Crysis was amazing for it's time but the tech increases really ramped up in other games in the few years after too.JRE84 likes this. -
in the comments thousands of people are saying crysis looks better, i guess im not alone
after scrolling through the comments it looks like everyone said crysis looks better as far as i can see, i doubt a poll with 99 percent in favor of crysis can be wrongLast edited: Mar 15, 2021 -
I think BF3 looks a bit better mostly because it uses DX11 while Crysis uses DX10
But still Crysis was ahead of its time and no wonder most people couldnt run the game on Max Settings back then. It took other games years to catch up to Crysis graphics. -
i think the lighting in crysis looks better but the color grading in bf3 looks better but as for textures if bf 3 had textures on a crysis level imagine how poorly it would run...I remember playing bf3 and thought wow these textures look worse than half life 2
-
Just replayed crysis 3 and I'm surprised how bad it looks. It looks grainy and has some sort of chromatic abberation applied to it. Grass also looks very low res.

Is DLSS broken in this game for anyone else ? Anything above 2560x1080 is broken for me,its pretty much unusable beyond that res.
Tried the usual stuff (deleting save folder, shaders folder, reinstalling game,DDU nvidia reinstall etc)
Edit: I also need to mention all resolutions beyond 2560x1080 are DSR factors set in nvcp(1.25x ,1.5x , 2x).JRE84 likes this. -

Ugh, why are games so broken post cyberpunk.... -

basically crysis and witcher 3 are perfect games in a sense.....and now where do they go and how do they best it? they can't....look at crysis remastered, better in everyway and all they got was negative feedback...lesson learned
-
does anyone know where I can get mods for remastered
-
looks like they did another update....graphics now looking silly detailed

Yeah I saw that. That ray tracing update in my opinion actually makes the game look worse. I'd rather leave the option disabled and get better performance instead.
-
i noticed low textures no longer look like ultra they look blurry crytek def made some changes
-
Artificial gimping perhaps?
-
the performance difference between low and ultra is nihl so i dont see why
But Can It Run Crysis?
