Death is still like 0.2 seconds. If the netcode is as good as Ghosts' netcode was, it's going to play just like ghosts XD.
-
-
Will at least give this a listen
-
dont bother. nothing mentioned about PC at all. and no player questions answered.
glad i didnt stay up to watch it now.D2 Ultima likes this. -
So another basic interview huh... Anything about the time to kill in there? If they're not changing it, it probably isn't even worth an install on my system on launch.
-
they might have done but i must have missed that bit. they did mention a new game engine and sound engine though. and talked about some of the new game modes and perks.
take a look if you can spare 30 minutes of your life wasted
-
Eh i might listen to it while I play Titanfall or something.
-
ive not played that for months. think ive missed 3 dlc's since i last played so it will be like a new game with all new maps.
now just got to find the time to play it. -
this is what steam was showing yesterday for spec:
OS: Windows 7 64bit, windows 8 64bit
6gb ram and directx11
today the minimum ram has gone.
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
DirectX: Version 11D2 Ultima likes this. -
Don't think they actually know what they're doing with this game. When it comes out and it gets added to my account I'll let you guys know on this thread if it's worth $5 or $30. We all know it won't be worth $60 or $120 hehe
-
interesting interview with Michael Condrey
look at the last question (possible dedis) Interview: Sledgehammer's Michael Condrey on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Stevivor -
CoD is my guilty pleasure game... already got the game pre-ordered, will see if MP is worth the additional $50 for the season pass. Kinda got burnt on both MW3 and Ghosts season passes :/.
-
Well the last question says they WILL support it.. likely for current-gen and PC only. But at least dedis will be here.
Still not interested much unless they fix the time to kill though. -
xbone,ps4,wii only
-
I don't mind guilty pleasures, but it doesn't mean it's worth the asking price, no? I mean I'm not trying to tell you to not buy it. You've already made that (informed) decision that you still want to get it and kick back a couple times a week with some arcadey run and gun or whatever. No harm no foul, we're still bros and such. But for the people who don't think like that or want to know if to take it seriously as a good PC game? Those are the people I'm more targeting.
Hell, you should have seen my pastebin of issues that were present in Ghosts' at launch. It was disgustingly long, and it all took months to even have 1/3 of that list addressed... if AW launches in a similar state, I simply cannot recommend anybody to purchase it for the PC platform. If it launches more similarly to Black Ops 2, which tried from the start to be a very good PC version (and dare I say succeeded for the most part) then I'll happily say people can pick it up for a hassle-free run and gun experience on PC. -
full PC spec being posted tonight on Steam
https://twitter.com/SHGames/status/523316679531442177 -
System Requirements
Minimum:
OS: OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit / Windows 8.1 64-Bit
Processor: Intel® CoreTM i3-530 @ 2.93 GHz / AMD PhenomTM II X4 810 @ 2.80 GHz or better
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 450 @ 1GB / ATI® Radeon™ HD 5870 @ 1GB or better
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 55 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX-compatible -
I like the blatant Nvidia bias. 5870 is more than twice as fast as GTS 450. Maybe they crippled performance on AMD cards with GameWorks again?
D2 Ultima likes this. -
I've seen this in a lot of titles. It's like no game developers actually remember what those AMD cards are capable of. Lots of 450/460 chips paired with a 5870 for min specs.
Also, did anybody notice that this "min spec" is a blatant copy of Ghosts' min spec with more powerful CPUs being required and an extra 15GB?
For comparison:
Ghosts:
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
RAM: 6 GB RAM
HDD : 40 GB HD space
Video: NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTS 450 / ATI® Radeon™ HD 5870 or better
Sound: DirectX® compatible sound card
DirectX®: DirectX® 11
Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet connection required for activation. -
somekind of voodoo magic that enables an executable to be run without RAM?
-
ive seen a few websites with the recommended spec as well but its not on steam yet so cant varify this but:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 – 680 @ 3.6GHz
RAM: 8 GB RAM
HDD : 40 GB HD space
Video: NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 760 @ 4GB
Sound: DirectX® compatible sound card
DirectX®: DirectX® 11
Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet connection required for activation. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Another specs:
This Is What You Need For CoD: Advanced Warfare PC -
That's pretty low for a game with 6gb RAM requirements, pretty sure it's not legit though.
COD Ghosts were locked to 6gb RAM on steam, any lower and the game would NOT launch. Though the weird thing is that pirated copies run fine with 4GB RAM. -
Good Lord!
" 55 GB of available hard drive space"
What's up with these massive storage requirements now too!? -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
A comment from that article:
This does not see good at all. I know, 2TB HDDs are not that expensive, but if you are like me and like to put games on SSD, you will run out of storage very quick with these "next gen" games.D2 Ultima likes this. -

campaign 6.6gb
multi 36.4gb -
Campaign is 6.6GB? Wow, that's brilliant. I might download it when it appears in my steam list.

Ultra amazing perfect 4K textures...

COD Advanced warfare:

Welp, here's a port report from our favourite brit about it. I'm waiting for it to appear in my game list so I can put it through the ringer myself.

This one looks like it might actually be decent for a change. And with Battlefield out of the picture, it'll probably make another record-breaking sales figure.
-
Nah, Destiny stole its thunder long ago. It might make aftermarket sales figures though if it's received well enough, but the fast time to kill being mitigated suggests it has BO2 style netcode... which means people will eventually grow to yell at it.
-
LOL not if you asked the console people I know. To them, Destiny is old news, a has-been that they've already stopped playing a while back. I think the real competition for AW is gonna come from Halo MCC and FC4 this season. Destiny or CoD, either way, Activision wins.
Of course, that's assuming GTA V doesn't just destroy everyone... -
I was thinking about pre-orders, which went down with Ghosts and went to rock bottom with AW. Which is why I said they'll make it up in after-sales. And oh I know destiny is mostly old news, because Bungie has no idea how to build a MMO. And people who don't play MMOs don't get the "grinding" aspect that Destiny took from it. And many many other reasons XD.
MCC probably is a huge thing yes. FC4... I don't think so. People don't usually sacrifice mainly MP games for SP heavy games, and as fun as FC2's MP was, FC3 had no competitive MP as I saw it, and FC4's competitive MP is likely a wild card nobody is betting on right now.
Plus, ya know, MCC is apparently 1080/60 on X1. People be jumping on that. -
I thought Destiny is a pseudo-MMO FPS not a real one like, you know, PlanetSide 2 (which is also gonna be on PS4 "eventually").
BTW Halo MCC definitely isn't a perfect 1080p60. The Halo 2 remaster is only 1328x1080 due to having to run both old and new engines side-by-side for instant switching, so I'm guessing the upscale stretches everything out horizontally on a 16:9 display. The other games are 1080p but don't hold a locked 60 FPS.

1 - This is why I said "apparently" because I didn't believe it myself
2 - LOL. LOL, LOLOLOL, LOL. With extra LOL.
3 - LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
4 - I've composed myself. I wonder if xbox 1 is ever going to do 1080p 60fps in a non-racing game this century that doesn't look like it was designed for a PS2? The Wii U is doing it with like every 1st party game.
Anyway, the masses think it's 1080/60 so that'll be a huge boon. GG MS, GG. Will laugh if it comes out on PC later. -
If Halo MCC ever comes out on PC, it would be an insta-buy for me and I would forgive M$ for all its PC gaming sins over the years.
Back to AW. I watched TotalBiscuit's video at 1080p60 and I gotta say, this is by far the best-looking CoD I've ever seen. I think I said this a few times before. Definitely the first "next-gen" title in the series since CoD4 or maybe CoD2. It's not state-of-the-art like a Ryse or Crysis 3, but it's finally up to modern day standards of visual fidelity.
And dat options menu. Pretty impressive.Cakefish likes this. -
i only mannaged one game at midnight as started work at 7am in hospital and got to be fully awake for the onslaught of patients.
so 1 game in multiplayer
graphics are better than ghosts but didnt have time to play about with settings.
smooth gameplay better than ghosts
zero lag (so far)
for the one game i had it looked slightly like medal of honour warfighter style map but i was half asleep.
roll on tonight. -
Well, AV will probably update it for me today, so I'll likely try it tonight. But I'm really liking Evolve a lot, I'm waiting for the final release. Did not expect to love that nearly as much.
AW I'm willing to give a try, though all the people playing seem to have no insta-kill instances, which means the netcode is tending toward the broken side. -
Game runs at a locked 60FPS, at 64% load and not getting hotter than 63 degrees on my 980m. All maxed out at 1920x1080, SMAA T2x, Crazy well optimised.
There's some stutter that seems to be related to streaming (happens when doors open) that brings down my FPS by 10 or so. It's weird but it seems like one of the in-game settings is causing it. Can't remember which but I'll play around with them later. The videos during the load also have their audio out of sync but that's the only other issue I have. The load time is also ridiculous for an SSD, but, again, there's a specific graphics option which states that it'll worsen load times for better performance so I need to fiddle there too.
Game is fun, occasionally look phenomenal (although only in the real time cut-scenes) but generally just looks decent. Character models are fantastic though, minus questionable hair.MrDJ, D2 Ultima, Cakefish and 1 other person like this. -
The hair problem is because they aren't accustomed to doing hair often because last-gen consoles all had to use helmets and generally not render hair on most characters to save on memory. So I'll forgive them for not knowing how to draw much hair.
That being said, that seems pretty good. If you get that on a 980M at stock I should also get at least 60 maxed on a 780M, and closer to 90 max constant when SLI is out. Unfortunately I'll have to give up T2x SMAA ='(. Interesting that there's no TXAA this time; was actually beginning to consider using that for the temporal filter in SLI. What have you done to me Evolve? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!!?!?!? -
Apparently the audio sync issues only happen when you go into the next level after finishing the previous. Not a problem when booting up the game first time and loading up from there. Weird. Also annoying since there's no option to back out to the main menu once you finish a level. I mean, sure, you can ALt+F4 your way back and restart but that's not an ideal solution.
Will try fiddling with the cache settings to see if I can get rid of the judder once I'm home.
EDIT: People on NeoGaf are saying that if you switch the game to borderless fullscreen and turn V-sync on, it fixes the hitching. Will try this later. Shame I'm currently banned from their site for two weeks otherwise I could find out for sure... -
dumitrumitu24 Notebook Evangelist
Seems like a good port.770M and up can expect 40-50fps without AA according to neogaf benchmark pics
Some report stuttering but the game uses 2gb vram at 1080p at least what i read from the comments.I didnt liked the last year COD.This one seems better
-
Stuttering is caused by poor in-game V-sync. Force it into borderless fullscreen mode and it should get fixed.
-
I'm getting this game when it goes on sale. First CoD since MW3.
-
Well the game finally appeared in my list, so I'm downloading it now. I'll do some performance testing and such by tomorrow. If I actually go through with it I'll do a review too.
