Yup. Not on max settings, though. Just a thought - did you even bother to check the system requirements of those games before asking for help?
Generally, your graphics card will limit your game playing. Use notebookcheck.net and search for your preferred graphics card. It will tell you what games you can play on it.
-
Yah, If tried searching, but I´m preaty nooby in this.
And I heard that there were People with good knowledge on the notebook forums, So thats why I chose it
Thanks =) -

Sweet. I'm gonna go pick it up.

Hi Guys,
First post. I recently got a Dell 1749 with i7-620m and ATI Mobility Mobility 5650.
I tried running GTA IV on the machine and it was really choppy and laggy. I reduced the settings the lowest possible.. and it still was coppy.. especially when driving around. According to notebookcheck it says my lappy should run it fine on medium settings.
Any ideas?? -
SomeRandomDude Notebook Evangelist
Have you patched it? -
I haven't done anything to the lappy just yet.. took it out of the box and pretty much installed the game.
what would i need to patch? sorry for the completely noob questions. I'm not too great with technology! lol -
Download the patch here

Avoid patch #6 , performance sucks on it.

stuck between which one i should buy :/ -
The GTX260M would easily play at higher res and details compared to 5650 as it is a high end 256bit GDDR3 card compared to a 5650 which is a 128bit card.. however , depending on ur budget u might get a better card.. u might want to fill up the Notebook FAQ in the What Notebook to buy forum..

I have a hp laptop with 16:9 hp led dbrightview, intel graphics media accelerator 4500mhd intel croe duo and windows 7. can I play games requireing radion video cards? for instance legand hand of god or tropico 3
-
can my RIG run
Battlefield Bad company (I understand BF BC will be tasking but i can play at 1024x768 at medium or so resolution...)
and GTA4 (i just need to know some exact options you need to set it at for 24~30FPS...can't get the mix just right)
RIG (DV5T- T9400, 4GB DDR2 800, 9600MGT 512 DDR2 (blech!!!),PM45 Chipset) -
Actually...probably more like high settings. Don't underestimate the 4570, it's on the level with the DDR2 9600M GT.
If I can run it max without AA at 1280 x 800, I'm sure he can as well. -
I've made a post already with those two laptops that i was thinking of buying in but no one suggested anything else
Anyway, I've found some other laptops on ebay for very good prices so could you or anyone else please tell me what i'd get on these two?
Want to run WoW at max settings
Dell XPS M1730 (refurbished)
Processor: T9300 Intel Penryn Core2 Duo 2.50GHz (6MB Cache, 800MHz FSB)
Memory: 4GB (4096MB) DDR2 667MHz
Hard Drive: 2 x 160GB Serial ATA (SATA) 7200 RPM, Two Hard Drives-Total 320GB!
Display/Screen: 17.0" 1920x1200 (WUXGA) CCFL UltraSharp Widescreen Display with TrueLife
Graphics Card: 2 x 512MB nVidia GeForce 8800M GTX SLI (Total 1GB)
I realise WoW doesn't support SLI or doesn't take advantage of it or something? But even without that would i be able to run at max settings?
Alienware M17 (used)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X9100 @ 3.06 GHz
4GB 1066MHz DDR2 SDRAM
160GB SATA2 hard drive @ 7200rpm
TWO ATI CrossfireX Mobility Radeon HD3870 graphics cards
1920x1200 17.1" LCD display
Is it the same that WoW does not take advantage of crossfire either? Anyways which one will run better at max?
-Thanks -
It's going to be a hard call, the Dell XPS has more graphic power while the Alienware has a better CPU, which also has much more overclocking potential.
The difference between dual 3870 and 8800M GTX SLI shouldn't be very big to justify your end decision and from what I have seen, WOW taxes pretty hard on the CPU, the dual 3870 should be able to provide you enough graphic power for WOW anyway. With x9100 (easily overclock to 3.5Ghz+), you probably will have better chance running WOW at max settings. In short, the Alienware should be a better bet for you. -
So the alienware will most likely be able to run at max at a playable fps? If i don't win the alienware though should i just take the XPS or will that not be able to handle max settings?
Thanks
EDIT:
surely this thing will run at max easily?

Purchasing another laptop. Been looking into this one to play some older games:
Dell Studio 14

4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
1GB Mobility Radeon 5450
1366x768 native resolution
How well will it play:
Oblivion
Sims 3
L4D2
Empire Total War
Crysis -
I don't think it will run it if u need a raedon card.
It isn't on lvl with a DDR2 9600M GT... when u see some of the 3D Mark 06 benchmarks , the ones on standard res are about 700-1000 points less..
The XPS will infact run it better... the 8800M GTX SLI is better than 3870 crossfire.. I would get the XPS... and as for the gateway , it worse than both laptops... XPS is the way.. it has way better cards although CPU is worse but in most games XPS is better.
You should run them on low-med settings on native res... -
It should run, as long as the Radeon card required is about the same power level as the 4500MHD. It's just the game recommending a certain Radeon card as it would have a certain power level, much like games recommend something like an NVIDIA 9800 GT or better, but you can still play on a 4850, can't you?
It's maybe a little less, not all that much, it's a tad more powerful than 9500M GS, on the level with a 9600M GS. But he will most likely be able to run it max, without AA, at 1280 x 720. -
How would I run Battlefield BC2
Would I be able to get low settings with 1280x800 with good fps? -
A single 9800M GTS can't compete either dual 3870 or 8800M GTX SLI, the difference is going to be HUGE. If you can't win the Alienware somehow, grab the Dell XPS, it's still a great powerhouse, forget about the £690 with a single 9800M GTS.
-
Specs:
I7-820QM (8MB L3 Cache), 1.73GHz
8GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM
Dual GTX285M SLI
18.4" 1920x1080 display
Where will Crysis play at? -
Where will COD MW2 and BF BC2 play at?
Thanks
-
MW2 will run on both but BC2 will have problems on second set up.. GTS360M isn't powerful enough to run at full HD.. u might want to consider a Sager Np8690 or Asus G73 which have ATI 5870 which should be able to run on full HD with a quite nice details.

I am such a newb plus I'm 60 years old lol anyway just a dumb question. (And I know I'm not posting it in the right place *sigh* bear with me sonny you'll be old one day)... so I have this Inspiron 1520 DELL laptop computer and on the right side there are 5 little icons that light up...now, I know I should refer to my laptop manual that came with it...but, I forgot where I put it. So, I just need someone to tell me what those 5 icons that light up blue...mean. I do know that the one that is 3 up from the bottom is the battery (it has a plus on it) but the one above that sometimes blinks like crazy and it drives me nutz because I don't know what it means. Can anyone help. Thanking you all in advance.
"Z" -
I think there are 3 LEDS?
closest to farthest from front of laptop
1-Battery status light
2-Hard Drive Activity Light
3-Power Light -
Maximum Crysis. Without AA.
The one that blnks like crazy would be the hard drive activity light. It has an icon with a couple of discs stacked on top of each other, right? If it blinks like crazy every now and then, it's normal. -
I am a Ps3 gamer and I am going to receive my new dv7t quad edition Monday hopefully. (held up by an earthquake in china and a volcano in Iceland) I am writing this from my emachines from about 6 years ago that cost 200 to begin with. I am wondering what games my new pc will be able to handle. I play fps and rts games. Also I searched for weeks for the right laptop and landed here because of the 450$ off hps? so what do you think was 960 a good deal?
• Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz
• 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
• 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 320M
• 17.3" diagonal HD+ High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen Display (1600 x 900)
• Lightscribe Blu-ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
• Webcam Only
• Intel Wireless-N Card with Bluetooth
• HP Color Matching Keyboard
• 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
• Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
Thanks in advance -
Max settings most likely and maybe 2-4X AA...
Well , the card quites average.. its about the same as my 9600M GT... u won't be playing new games on 1600X900... i would look for something else.. if u can spend a little more , in 15 inch there's MSI GX640 which comes with i5 , 4GB RAM , 15 inch 1680X1050 screen and ATI 5850 , which would smash GT320M to ground.. its about $1100 so if u can cancel this , i would get that... Just for u to note , GT320M is just a rebagged 9600M GT in essence. -
can Half-Life 2 and GTA San Andreas work on:
Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Pentium Dual Core T4200 2 GHz
4GB DDR 2 ram
Windows 7 64Bit
? -
guys help...please
-
You should run Half life 2 on quite high settings... I don't know about GTA San Anders , but it should work.. but just for u to note , this is not a gaming laptop.. if u can get something else if u already haven't bought it.
u should run BC2 and GTA4 with most of the AA turned off.. i don't have both games but turn off settings like HBAO and SABO or whatever... and keep any details to medium.. its trial and error as it runs on different laptops differently. -
It got delayed and will arrive April 28th, just making sure I will be able to run all current games at atleast 22FPS. -
I5 430m ( 2.26-2.53)Ghz
ati mobility radeon hd 5650 1 Gb Gddr3
native resolution 1366*768
How well will it play:
Empire Total War
Batman Arkham Asylum
Bioschok 2
Mass Effect 2
Thank you for answering -
It should run most games at full HD res with low-med details.. it really bottlenecked by 128bit GDDR3... if u can , consider a MSI GX640.. its much better and has a 5850 GDDR5 , which can easily play all games at 22FPS at full HD (externally as it has 1680X1050 screen ) with med-high details.. would certainly consider that if u can cancel ur order.
it should run at native res with most details on medium-high... -
Still wondering about this because I might go out and buy it.
Native Res: 1440x900
NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M(512MB DDR3)
Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 @ 2.0 GHz
4GB DDR2-800 RAM
Also curious about performance on games like Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, and Wings of Prey(IL-2 Sturmovik). -
Hey guys would I be able to run Battlefield Bad Company 2? If so on what settings approximately? I also have my card overclocked a fair amount. The system in question is in my signature!
Thanks,
- Cody -
Might have been posted but I couldnt find it.
Can I run Fallout 3 on low/med settings, or any for that matter with:
Processor: AMD Turion Dual-Core M520 2.30 Ghz
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows 7
GPU: ATI HD 4200
HD: 300 GB
It is just a HP Pavilion dv4 notebook -
Sorry, Kill this one Please =)
-
i will be able to Play Decently BC2 on MP with the laptop on my signature?
and wich settings in order to get the best performance/eye Candy? -
you can play at native res but with med-high details.. u might want to look for something else.. if u want to play with max or full details.
you can run it on 1600X900 with med-high details without HABO and all those posh settings .. it needs a real good card to run anyways and 4670 isn't powerful enough.
u can play at
you might not be able to... u really need a better GPU... but i'm not sure. -
I have DV6 1330
3gb DDr3
ATi hd-4530 512Mb
Core 2.duo 2.2
Can i play
dragon age origins?
Farcry 2
GTA 4? -
I can vouch for GTA IV. It will perform much the same on that machine as it does on mine, which is quite poor. It will be playable, but you'll have to drop the resolution to about 1024 x 600, and keep it at medium settings, or maybe 1366 x 768 at low settings.
At any rate, it won't run well, I'm sorry to say. It even has problems on high end desktops. -
Probably a mix of high and medium settings with 4xaa, no HBAO at resolutions around 1280x720/1440x900.
You could probably crank up the resolution a fair bit (1600x900 or even 1920x1080) and turn off the AA.
It really depends on how much mouse lag you're willing to live with. On MP, you'll probably want to turn down the settings to medium/low at a lower res just to get a consistent 50+ fps. In all honesty there's so much dust everywhere that you don't really notice the differences between medium and high anyway, especially when you're concentrating on killing the 1000000 people who are shooting at you
-
What settings can I play Battlefield Bad Company 2 on this:
4GB Ram
1GB 9800M GS
2.40Ghz Core 2 Duo
Windows 7 -
u should be able to play on high at 1366X768... for higher res , it will be medium with those posh details HBAO and all turned off.
-
I recently put in an order for the MSI GX640 and I really want to play old school games on it! I'm talking about games like Planescape:Torment, Thief, and a bunch of others.
CPU - Intel Core i5-430M 2.26GHz Processor
GPU - ATI Radeon 5850
Display- 1680*1050
My problem is probally going to be with the OS of windows 7 being incompatible for these games is what i think. is there any way to bypass these problems so i can play my classics again? =)
