Hi frens.... How's everyone....
I just got myself a Acer 1810T with Intel SU7300 & "Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD"
I have only 30 mins a day to do gaming so i dont have time to solve puzzle based action games or RPG/Team Oriented/Tactical or anything which takes time, basically anything which requires using the brain....
Therefore i need to play games which are packed with "Instant Action" thus giving me maximum gratification in my 30 mins available to me daily..
Hence i am looking for "First Person Shooters & Racing Games"
Also i dont like to play any games based on Horror or Ghosts etc. I would prefer games based around normal people...
Could you guys suggest me games which will run on the Intel 4500MHD....?
Thanks to all....

Notebookcheck: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD (GMA X4500MHD)
As you can see, most new games will not run well on that GMA, so you are stuck with some Valve games and older games.
For FPS, try:
Call Of Duty 2
Call Of Duty 4 (If you can bear with 25 FPS on low settings)
Battlefield 2 (usually a round lasts more than 30 mins)
CounterStrike Source
Fear
Doom
TeamFortress 2
Left 4 Dead
Half-Life 1&2
FarCry
For racing, try:
NFS:Most Wanted
TrackMania:Nations (Free)
Colin McRae Rally 2005 -
redrazor11 Formerly waterwizard11
Battlefield hero's. you get to jump into the action very fast...it's browser based, and games are really short compared to other fps games.

racing/puzzle? Try TMnations united! free, racing/puzzle game. Very fun.
Sorry for the double post...damn road runner timing out -

For an online action RPG, Guild Wars is very fast and rewarding. Because it's instanced, you can quick travel to any town you have visited. The graphics should also be decent on the 4500MHD.
YouTube - Guild Wars Gameplay - [Secret Lair of the Snowmen] Deldrimor reputation points -
Galactic Civilizations 2 is a good turn based stratgy that you can come back to on a daily basis.
I second TrackMania Nations, great fun, simple and fast.
I don't know if you have internet access or not but Quake Live is fun. -
Its not browser based, you need to download and install it.
But its still free and it played around 30 fps on my brothers single core Celeron 2GHz with Intel GMA 4500m.
The wierd problem is that Source games (including L4D) ran better than CS 1.6 on that laptop.
Its crazy.
-
Quake Live? I get a good amount of play, it's free and easy to get into.
-
you want quake live.
-
you'll want cs 1.6
it's simply fantastic
that or cs source, but cs 1.6 is better IMO
cod2/4 wont run well -
Counter-Strike 1.6 is not playable on the Intel GMA 4500MHD. Apparently, there is a bug in the drivers that makes the game jump from 15FPS to 60FPS constantly with vsync turned off. Most of the time it is in the 20's, which is unplayable to me. Remember, that CS 1.6 need a constant of 60FPS or 100FPS to be playable. Since, it is using an old graphics engine, Intel will not update their drivers to fix this problem. Tested on both the stock Intel drivers and the newest Intel drivers. Also, tested with Direct3D and OpenGL.
However, I tried Counter-Strike: Source on the Intel GMA 4500MHD and I get around 45-65FPS with some tweaks and it's very playable. Even at 30FPS, Source seems playable. The reason is because Source has a newer and more efficient graphics engine.
Games like F.E.A.R. or Left4Dead, etc. will run on low settings at 640x480. Which is why I don't recommend them.
Games that run smoothly for me on the Intel GMA 4500MHD (1366x768):
Counter Strike: Source
Diablo 2
Starcraft
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (1st version)
Age of Empires 2 -
Live For Speed is really fun racing sim that doesn't chew up your CPU or your GPU. Live for Speed - Online racing simulator Really easy to jump on start playing(Everything is unlocked at the start) Good demo to try out on they're site.

How would I play Mass Effect 2 on my current system? Specs are in the signature.
Mr. Mysterious -
At 1920x1080, your 9600M GT is going to struggle. But you still should be capable of running it with a mixed settings of high/medium, mass effect 2 is really well optimized.

Don't forget me plz!
I'm really interest in this game, but also really not shure my rig can handle it.
Thanks a lot

Negative. Metro 2033 taxes very hard on PCs, just googled: minimum requirement for graphic card: DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant graphics cards (GeForce 8800, GeForce GT220 and above). You can run it, but don't expect enjoyable gameplay with 9600M GT/P7350.
-
not at full HD but easily at 1280X800 or 1366X768... u can push res up to 1600X900 but details will drop.
-
I just found out today that Blur is also being released for the PC as well, I tried the demo on a friend's 360 back in march and it's probably something I want to play.
Anyone have any idea how well this would run on my laptop? I'm looking at running 1080p if I can while playing online. I can run my GPU overclocked a bit with 600/1600/500.Code:Recommended: OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 Processor: Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz or better Memory: 2 GB Ram Graphics: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT or better or ATI Radeon 1800XT or better with Shader 3.0 capabilities DirectX®: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c Hard Drive: 14GB of free hard drive space Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card Internet: Broadband connection required for Multiplayer Connectivity

Just ordered the Envy 17, specs in my sig. I was originally getting a Sager NP8690 with the ATI 5870, but from what I'm told the 5850 isn't that far behind it? What type of settings will I be able to run Starcraft 2, WoW, Final Fantasy 14 MMO and Modern Warfare 2? Also by the time Diablo 3 is released, would I still be able to run it at close to high settings? Thanks for any input!
-
Starcraft 2- Maxed setings
WoW- maxed settings
Final Fantasy 14 MMO- no one knows yet
Modern Warfare 2- Max settings
And yes Diablo 3 definitely at least on high settings. -
If thats the recommended system requirements, then you should be able to run it on high settings. Or at least medium
-
Thank you soo much kind sir!
-
The minimum reminds me of something from 2004/2005 for some reason:
Code:Minimum: OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 Processor: Intel Pentium D Dual Core 3.4ghz or better Memory: 1 GB Ram for Windows XP, 2 GB for Windows Vista or Windows 7 Graphics: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or better or ATI Radeon 1600XT or better with Shader 3.0 capabilities. DirectX®: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c Hard Drive: 14GB of free hard drive space Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card Internet: Broadband connection required for Multiplayer Connectivity
-
well no one really knows how well the game is optimized since it isn't out yet. You will definitely be able to run it though.
-
I guess I'll be one to test the game out then, just have to wait until the 25th before I can run it, anyway. But thanks for the reassurance

Shadowfate Wala pa rin ako maisip e.
I personally tried playing SC2 with a HD3200(Turion 2.1 Ghz) and in a INtel 4500(2.7 Ghz).
Witha a HD 3200 it can play in Medium settings in 1024x768(I think it also can play in 1280x800 when plugged in) and the Intel with 1440x900 at LOW plugged in or not. -
Probably on low - medium. The 5470 isn't a high end card.
-
thanks for the reply CZX58 Shadow
yeah i didnt think it was
but oh well
thank youuu -
This is Blizzard -- one of the reasons why they're so popular is that they don't make games that require powerful graphics cards. The 8600M GT should be perfectly fine. I'm not even surprised to hear that even the GMA 4500 can run it.
-
Shadowfate Wala pa rin ako maisip e.
Well the thing here is that playing SC2 at LOW settings looks like all the characters are devoid of life.
The bare minimum should be at HIGH settings.. Of course even my 5750 cant handle ULTRA settings when i launch an all out assault.(Like having 12 carriers) IN normal situations it can Handle Ultra but you will experience a GREAT DROP in FPS in battle.
I try to keep my frames above 30. -

Could I run them? -
Finally, some AMD triple core cpu shows up!! We don't even have any reviews show us how it performs against current c2d/i5/i7. Thus some of opinions here may be merely speculations.
Out of the games you listed, you should be able to run most of them on medium/high except Metro 2033 or maybe just cause 2, guild wars 2 ain't even out yet, so no one can tell you how well it will run on your laptop.
As for Dolphin and PCSX2, you may as well forget about ever playing wii/gamecube/ps2 games on your laptop. Dolphin is known for being unoptimized for multi-cores(can't utilize more than 2 cores), you will need at least a 3 ghz dual core processor to make SOME, note just some games playable. For PCSX2, it's pretty much the same case. You can always try though, although I suspect you will most likely get miserable fps. -
Hi,
I'm playing SC II Beta on my 8600M GT (overclocked tho), with 1280x800 res, a mix of mid to high graphic settings (no AA) and it plays very very smoothly.
I should try with AA or higher graphics settings to see how far can it go with good fps, but i'm focusing on playing right now
will do that with the full game.
Hope this info helps

I have the opportunity to snag a Sony Vaio AW240 at $900CAD, which I plan to use for among other things, gaming. I'm going to be playing Halo: Combat Evolved, NFS Underground 2, NFS Carbon, Star Wars Battlefront II, and Halo 2 Vista on it.
System Specs:
Core 2 Duo T6600(2.2GHz)
4GB DDR2 PC2-6400(2x2GB) @800MHz
NVIDIA 9600M GT 512MB
18.4in screen, 1680x945 screen resolution
320GB SATA 9.5mm 5400rpm HDD
DVD Drive
Will the AW be powerful enough to play these games on full? -
most of them yes
-
For a cheaper price of just $749.99 CAN you can buy the more powerful ASUS G51VX-RX05 instead:
Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 2.0GHz
15.6" HD LED
4GB RAM
320GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB DDR3
DVD-writer

I'm looking to get an Envy14 next month and was wondering what sort of gaming performance I can expect out of it. I'm looking to play Half Life 2, SC2, Diablo 3 when it comes out, and if it's up to it, some modern shooters (Crysis?). Specs are:
i5 430m
ATI Radeon HD 5650m
4gb DDR3 RAM
1600x900 display
What sort of settings can I expect to play with? Also, are there many games in which the 430m will be a bottle neck? Would there be a significant gain in FPS or max settings by upgrading to the 520m or 540m? If I can get away with a lower end processor for similar gaming experience I would be happy to save $100 and the heating/battery life concerns. -
Don't forget that these are very different in terms of size.
-
That laptop will provide you a decent gaming performance. Crysis should run at least on medium native res. SC2 probably high-ultra. Half life 2 definitely maxe out and not sure about Diablo 3 but imo at least on high settings. Modern shooters like CoD MW2 will run maxed out settings. This card is comparable to the GTS 250m which is pretty powerful. You should save the extra $100 on the processor. You will only see a minor performance gain with the upgrade.
