Can my notebook in my sig run Alien Swarm on steam. Doesn't matter on what settings.

I have an:
HP DV7
i7 720QM
4GB of RAM
ATI 5650
Win7 64 bit
and the Starcraft 2 beta is running a lot poorer than I thought it would. I can only get it to run smoothly at 1280x720 with medium textures and medium graphics settings. Is this about right for my system specs? I was thinking that I should've been able to run it smoothly with high textures and graphics but maybe I was expecting too much? -

Hey.
I am currently torn between the Envy 15 and the Envy 17. The 15 has a 5830, the 17 a 5850. I know that the 5850 is absolutely the better choice, the only problem is I have no desire to purchase a 17" laptop.
The most intense game I plan on playing on the laptop is Final Fantasy XIV.
How huge of a difference will only having the 5830 with DDR3 be compared to the 5850 with DDR5?
If the game will be playable at 1080p on low or medium with the 5830, that would be fine for me. Will it manage to do this?
Specs are the same for both systems outside of the graphics card.
i7-720QM
6GB RAM

Hi, I just bought an HP dm4 with the following specs:
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel i5-430M Dual Core processor (2.26GHz, 3MB L2 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz
4GB RAM
500 GB HDD
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450
1366 x 768
I was wondering how it would play:
-Mass Effect 2
-Dragon Age (Origins, Awakening, and the eventual sequel)
-Star Wars: The Old Republic
... and any other generally interesting RPG-style games that will come along.
Do you think that the build above would play the games I mentioned at least at low settings, or should I just invest in a 360 or PS3? -

Can a Sony VAIO F serie with i7 and 330m graphic card able to play Bad Company 2 multiplayer with 32 player maps?

Depending upon your memory type (GDDR2/3), your FPS will dip below 24fps on medium settings.
It can run fluidly on low details though.

Just a little inquiry people, would the GT 330m run Empire Total War? I have an i5 processor etc, I just have doubts over my graphics card. I have bought it and it is playing, but I experience a lot of slowdown when there is a lot happening on the screen so I am wondering is the graphics card holding it back.
Thank you. -
Can I run Red Faction: Guerilla on this specs?
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.10 GHz
GPU: 128 MB ATI Mobility Radeon X2300
RAM: 3 GB
Display: 1280x800
Can I run it even on lowest settings? With AA,V-Sync and Shadow turned off. -
-
If its GDDR3, you should have no problem running it on native resolution on low details. But if you plan to play BC2 a lot, I'd suggest getting a slightly better graphics card
The 360M should be able to run it on High details.

Prolly getting this question a lot but can I run starcraft 2?

Oblivion and/or Starcraft 2?
Really want to know about Oblivion. -
All in all i'm pretty happy with performace and the fan isn't a problem either. -
Hi Guys,

CPU: Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz
Memory: 4GB
Graphics: Intel GMA X4500MHD (GS45 chipset)
I know settings will probably need to be turned to lowest, but would it be playable then? How about on one of the new low power Arrandales? -

Hi I'm new to this forum. I've been looking for a thread like this so I thought I should post before I buy my laptop.
Batman Arkham Asylum 1 and 2 (2011), Burnout Paradise, Need For Speed: World, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (Upcoming 2010), Prince of Persia (2008), Split/Second, Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2 (Upcoming 2010), Test Drive Unlimited 2
Acer TimelineX 4820TG
CPU: Intel i3-350M
RAM: 4 GB 1066
GPU: Mobility Radeon HD 5650
Display: 1366 x 768
I would like to play these games at the highest settings that will put out 30+ FPS. -
Acer Aspire 5920G
# Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2 GHz Dual-Core
# RAM - 4 GB (installed) 4 GB (max) - DDR2 SDRAM
# Hard Drive - 250 GB
# Operating System - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
# Graphics - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
Games: World of Warcraft
Thanks! -
You'll easily be able to run WoW on low graphics. Any higher graphics though, and your fps will suffer.
-
Most of them should be no problem at low-medium settings -
-
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
-
Although I'm a bit worried with all the future titles he spoke of.
Whereas the Mobiliy 5830 comes not a well reccommended., from similar products, I'd expect only 80-90% of the 5850's score.
I'd say medium, or medium-low, would run smoothly on the 5830.
Here's a good thread answering your questions [ GPU and CPU score list] -
Thanks for the replies. As long as it's playable on low to medium settings I am content. It's a laptop after all, it's not like it's going to win any speed awards compared to a desktop.

Hi,
I'm buying a new laptop with these specs and was wondering what kind of performance I could expect from playing Fallout 3. Thanks!
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
Intel® Core™ i3-350M 2.26GHz
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470, 1GB -
I'm new here too, and this thread is awesome
Games: Warcraft 3, FIFA 10, CS Source
Specs:
-
low-med settings at native res.. consider getting a laptop with 5650 to play on high- max settings. -
How well will I be able to run age of empires 3 at 1366 x 768 with
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-620M Dual Core processor (2.66GHz, 4MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.33GHz
• 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 160GB (Solid State Drive Flash Module)
• 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5450 switchable graphics
I think since the resolution is low, the lower end graphics should be okay. -

These are the specs of the piece of crap notebook I have:
Acer Aspire 4810TZ:
- Windows 7
- Genuine Intel Pentium double-core processor SU4100 (2M cache, 1.3 GHz, 800MHz FSB)
- Intel GMA 4500MHD Up to 1695 DVMT
(Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family)
- RAM 4GB
- 320 GB HDD
... Yeah. :/ So, I want to know if Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Bioshock can run on it? Even on the lowest possible settings, I don't care as long as there won't be constant lagging that will drive me insane.
Can You Run It says I can't. This is what it said:
http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/6103/onlivionbioshock.png
But this list says that Oblivion runs with a SU4100 (1.3Ghz).
This Yahoo Answer says that Bioshock works with it also.
CYRI also said that my video card is wrong, but my card DOES apparently meet all the minimum requirements. Also, this forum post says both Oblivion and Bioshock should work on low.
In addition, there are several youtube videos showing gameplay on that video card. (GMA 4500MHD and x4500 are the same thing, right?)
So, what do you think?
Will they run?
PS: I bet Dragon Age will never work. T_T will it?Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Point is, Oblivion should work. I've never tried to run Bioshock on a low-end system like that, so I can't help you there. As for Dragon Age...heh. I'm doubtful that it will run, but ya never know!Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Starcraft is not hardware demanding at all, aside from GPU which cannot happen to be strong enough. -
As far as Bioshock, I don't know. Probably low detail at 1280x720 or 1366x768. You don't need 60fps in this game. It's pretty much a slow paced shooter.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

I finally came up with two laptop options and was wondering, which one you guys would choose taking into account how well the games are run and how 'durable' they are in terms of handling future demanding games.
1) Intel core i5 450m (2.4 GHz) with Radeon hd 5870 1GB GDDR5
2) Intel core i7 720QM (1.6 GHz) with Radeon hd 5730 1GB DDR3
I know that i5 has two cores and has four cores that can be simulated or something while i7 has four and eight cores similarly.
Thanks! -
Almost every game I've encountered has been bottlenecked by the GPU. The games are not using CPU power as well as they should maybe or CPU from intel are just that amazing.
Go with the i5/HD5870M combo. I doubt ANY game will fully utilize your i5 to it's full potential. Even BC2 will probably only use 50-60% of your i5. -
i5/5870 option. Trust me
