So I'm thinking about getting a Sager NP8662 with the following specs:

    -Intel® Core™2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz Processor w/3MB L2 Cache (25W) - 1066MHz FSB
    -4GB (2 SODIMMS) DDR3/1066 Dual Channel Memory
    - 320GB SATA II 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive (16MB Cache Buffer)
    -nVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M w/1GB GDDR3

I want to know if I will be able to run Empire: Total War with that kind of configuration. Any thoughts?

Back again, just to see if its possible to run TrackMania on my HDX18 in my sig. The minimum specs for the game are rather low, but what framerates should I be expecting if I run it at 1920x1080?

ML6721 Gateway, COD: WAW playable(only multiplayer, have 360 for single)? it plays COD4 pretty good after I did this http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intelgm965/sb/CS-030534.htm

also how good is a Nvidia GeForce 9400M GS? my mom has a HP laptop with a 1.83GHz processor and a 9400M GS, only got 1GB RAM but I could upgrade that? be worth it to beg her for it?

PS: Forgot to say I took Vista off the 6721 its got XP Pro 32-bit now much faster actually

Hey man let me know how the game runs.. I have been very excited following this game over the last year, well I decided to sell my gaming custom build desktop to my parents. It's a beast, but since I'm done with school and moving across the country to take a new job I wanted to have something more portable. I bought the RX05 thinking it would get me a couple years of decent gaming, and now I'm thinking I should have gotten the newegg.com version. O well I'm thinking of replacing the CPU with a P9700 I found on amazon.

Anyways the game came out today, did you buy it?
    System requirements are as follows:

    PC MIN SPECS

    * Operating system: Windows XP SP2 or later
    * Graphics: DirectX 9.0c
    * Graphics card: Nvidia 7600GT 256mb or ATI X1800XL 256mb
    * Sound support: DirectX-compatible sound output
    * RAM: 1GB RAM
    * HD size: 8GB Hard disk space
    * Processor: 2.4GHz Dual Core Processor ----HERE IS OUR PROBLEM
    * DISC drive: Dual layer DVD-ROM

You said you have your CPU overclocked to 2.4, so does that mean you meet those requirements? If it's working for you let me know, and how you overclocked it. I will overclock this chip and get the game and wait until I have more $$$ to get my new CPU.

    Thanks!

How much better is the GTX 260m than a desktop 4670? Will a GTX 260m be able to do Crysis at 1366x768 and Very High with at least a 23 fps average?

Look up benches of the desktop 9800 GT (from which the 260M is based) vs the 4670, and you'll find your answers.

Few cards can handle Very High Crysis, even at 720p.

I'm installing Warhead right now, so I'll run it at max setting, 1366x768. It's going to be a couple hours from now though.

Tell me what you find Kevin Jack2.0.

So, according to those fps averages, the GTX 260m should be a lot better than a desktop 4670, right?

Okay, so I ran Crysis Warhead, @ 1366x768 w/ everything set to Enthusiast, no AA. I played through the first couple levels.

It ran 18-21fps, sometimes dipping to 15fps, but it was always playable. In some indoor environments, it gets up to 30-34fps.

    Hope this helps.

    P.S. - Keep in mind that I have a 2.93Ghz CPU behind my 260M.

260M gets about ~10000 in 3DMark06, and 9800 GT according to TH more than 13000. On the other hand HD4670 gets about 10000 which is just about the same as 260M. So - no - it won't be much faster.

Um, htwingnut already posted benchmark showing that the 4670 is much slower.

An XPS 16, with it's 4670, will get no where near my M860TU's performance. It's a proven fact.

3DMark06 scores are meaningless in these comparisons, as CPUs play too much of a role.

Here's the stats of my stock 260M vs an extremely overclocked desktop 4670:

    And at stock 9800GT clocks:

    GTX 260M wins.

Edit: Here's some more 9800GT/4670 benchmarks

the desktop 9800GT is also running on a desktop CPU, most likely higher clocked and with more cache. if it was an i7/C2Q CPU that would attest to the differences in 3dmark scores.

Yeah, I used to have a Studio XPS 1640, although it had a 3670, the 4670 even OC'd best I've seen is ~8000 by Chrusti although not sure what CPU was installed. But I can't speak for desktop4670

I've been wondering if my notebook can play these games, albeit with low settings if I have to:

    -Bioshock
    -Fallout 3
    -America's Army v2.8.5
    -Age of Empires 3
    -World of Warcraft

I'm getting a notebook to play aion with. Originally i was gonna get:

    TOSHIBA Satellite A505-S6985
    Intel Core 2 Duo T6600(2.20GHz)
    4GB Memory DDR3
    250GB HDD 5400rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M

Then i found an acer for cheaper. A lot of the reviews saying that instead of a geforce gt130m they got a gt240m. If i get the acer and i dont get lucky with the 240m will i be able to run aion smoothly with the 130m? Or should i just stick with the toshiba for $150 more?

    Acer Aspire AS5739G-6959
    Intel Core 2 Duo T6600(2.20GHz)
    4GB Memory DDR3
    320GB HDD 5400rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M
