I believe there's something wrong with NBC's unit.
I can't get this thing to go anywhere close to that. With OpenCL CPU+iGPU+dGPU 3-way stress (which is probably the most ridiculous stress that can theoretically happen), stock voltage and no bottle caps it maxed out at ~90°C.
-
Is that more stressful than Prime95+Furmark or some other combination of simultaneous CPU and GPU burn test (e.g. OCCT PSU Test, Linpack+Heaven)? What about compared to BF4? I know HTWingNut was getting close to 100C CPU on his W230ST in BF4.
-
You should try to run Furmark + Prime95 at the same time Koala.
That is what Notebookcheck did. -
The problem with Furmark + Prime95 is that is simply to push the limits, but some machines may throttle down to 2.8 GHz while others will run at 3.0Ghz, and while the 3.0GHz is running a bit hotter, it's also faster. Same thing with Furmark, although Kepler, and now Maxwell especially are less likely to throttle at the rated boost speed, because temps are so low.
-
That is with some undervolting right?
-
Yes. It's 4700MQ with 75mV UV as described in #1049.
But even without UV temperature should be similar. The chip is hitting TDP anyway, and without UV it will just run slower. -
Sorry this is pretty incomprehensible to me. What were your max CPU and GPU temps? And how long into the test were the measurements taken?
-
Did test again today. Max temp recorded was 92°C which lasted no more than a few seconds.
The temperature was measured after at least 10 min. It's definitely in a stable state. -
What were your CPU and GPU clock speeds? That's the important part of a stress test. It could run 92C but did it throttle to run cooler? It could run 90C all day, but if the clocks keep going down due to heat, then it's not so much of a steady or stable state.octiceps likes this.

92C for Koala on a downvolted CPU. 99C for Notebookcheck with a CPU running stock voltage.
Maybe their review was not so wrong after all?
Anyway, its a stupid test to run Furmark and Prime95 at the same time. Or even run one of them.
Gaming is what matters, and otebookcheck had no throttling or performance issues in the gaming suite. I am sure the Clevo notebook runs acceptable temperatures during everyday tasks
-
Is it just a matter of time before Clevo reveal their roadmap for the end of this and early next year?
-
hahaha, really?
To heck with it, lets have 3 Maxwell threads
I think Clevo should update their notebooks soon yes. Perhaps some new models will arrive?

Can I have my own Maxwell thread too?
-
-
Hopefully the P570WM/3.
Will they require a new model/chipset for 900 series? -
It would be great if they don't. There is no technical barrier, right?
On they other side, a new model with X99, DDR4 RAM and other updates would be great too. -
DDR4 RAM for laptop? I thought it wasn't release yet, and won't be for a while.
Nevertheless, imagine a laptop with 5960, 980M SLI, DDR4 RAM - Merry Xmas!
Clevo notebooks with 800M series coming out February 2014
