got the same rig as you - everything medium is 30 fps and if you drop shadows it is 35-40+ fps.

drivers 169.04 ... odd that your getting those kind of results considering i know a couple other people that own this laptop and are getting the same performance around where i am at. the drivers have really boosted performance in the games. do you mess with Ntune or anything?

    Hi,
I have the demo downloaded and it works fine. How do i "extract" the file for all the weapons etc after i download that? Can i have a step by step im not very computer saavy...? thanks

btw it runs pretty darn good on my laptop by having the rig detect optimal settings...

At least lower your resolution. 1440x900 is too much at medium settings for mid/early high range mobile gpu's. Other things to do is to check that your system is optimized for performance...

The resolution is what's killing you. Crysis eats video memory and memory bandwidth for breakfast, and at 1440x900 it's pushing the memory bandwidth to the limit. Turn down to 1280x800 (or better yet, 1024x768) and see what happens.

This is what I kept saying about the 8700-series - it's the 128-bit memory bus that kills it. With only 25.6 GB/s of memory bandwidth (vs. my 44.8 GB/s, or better yet, the desktop 8800 GTX's 86.4 GB/s), it simply can't play Crysis at high resolutions. I have huge increases in performance with each drop in resolution. 1440x900 at medium settings isn't playable for me, either.

I play at 1024x768 at medium-high settings and I get around 20-25 FPS, which is playable for me.

You have downloaded a file which, after you extract it, should be named "level.pak".
    Now check the folder where you have the demo installed;
In "Crysis SP Demo\Game\Levels\island" you will see the original file called "level.pak".
You have to change the original "level.pak" with the one you have downloaded.
So, remove the original "level.pak" and then copy/paste the downloaded "level.pak" into the "Crysis SP Demo\Game\Levels\island" folder.

You cannot start by playing a saved game, you have to start all over, jump out of the plane> find your living team mate> find your slaughtered team mate > go to the beach with the jamming station> on the far left side of the beach you will find all the sniper rifles, Gaussguns, claymores, tanks, chopper, tactic nuclear grenades etc etc.
    Enjoy.

i have ntune and rivatuner, but i have never messed with them before, i just downloaded them to view simple information like core clock, shader clock and whatnot when i changed drivers.

what about the other people that say they are playing with same rig as me(sig), with same settings and getting the same performance? like kraz30g above? same drivers, same settings, and getting 30+fps whereas i am getting 15-21 with dx9 and even lowver in dx10?

also, how do i check if my computer is fully optimized, thx

I downloaded the file from here.
It's a WinRAR file so I just unrarred (new verb ;)) it with winrar.
And yes, you can just delete the old "level.pak" and copy/paste the new one in its place.

(Of course, you must save the old "level.pak" and reverse all steps if you want to play the original demo later on for whatever reason)

I'm playing at 1680x1050 in DX9 with settings mixed up between High and Medium with a few Low and I'm getting fine results.

IF those lows are "shaders" and "shadows" the it figures. Those are what make the game look as it does, and they`re also the ones that really kill performance.
I really love it when people brag and lie about Crysis settings and results.Nothing personal, just a general fact.

On right top of every picture of yours i see two icons. Both of those icons are showing: '100%'. What does this mean?

I got Crysis running on my HP dv6045nr's Geforce Go 7200. Like Far Cry, it'll run on anything as long as it's a Shader Model 2.0 capable card.

So did your laptop blow up? Just kiddin, but on a serious note if it did run on that card, did it run at like 5-7FPS?

When you play Crysis on a laptop you get these two icons. One is the state of your battery, and the other is the strength of your WiFi connection :)

All you have to do is add "-devmode" to your Crysis shortcut on the desktop. Right click on the shortcut, hit Properties > Shortcut, and change the Target from "K:\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" (or wherever your shortcut points to) to "K:\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe -devmode".

Now you can start the game and hit F1 for third person view.

The normal F1 function is third person for vehicles only. So you're only adding third person for your character on top of that ;)

It runs fine, but two things of note: I'm overclocking the GPU, and I use a custom Crysis config so I can play with HDR, shadows, sunrays etc. while still getting playable framerates (at 1280x800). If you're interested, try Cuban's Custom Crysis Configs. I'm using his second profile, but modded to be prettier.

It started at around 15 with overclock but it gradually got slower I think due to GPU heat slowing down the processor. I still need to try running it with forced Shader Model 2.0 as like I said, it did wonders to make CoD4 more manageable.

That's pretty good for a 7200. I can only manage to run Crysis medium low with 20-25FPS. :(
Call of Duty 4 run fairly well at 1280x800 everything maxed except shadows off and no AA. So if CoD4 runs well on my sh*ty X1600 graphics then your 7200 can probably handel it on low.
