I've tried to be nice for the most part, but you're really irritating. There is a difference. If you can't see it, that's your issue, and if others choose to run at higher settings, that's their decision. Still photos don't tell the whole story, and your standards are not anyone else's standards. It would be nice if you had ANYTHING whatsoever to contribute to this thread, or in fact, this entire forum besides "if my GPU can't run it it's stupid and pointless".

Yeah, I'm dumb to run it on very high because my computer only runs at 60fps with vsync. Silly me. I should set everything to low so it runs at 200fps.

200fps>60fps, right guys? It would be SUPER smooth on my 60hz screen.

Did anyone notice frequent crashes with AMD drivers 13.2 beta's in crysis 3? I also noticed a crash in metro 2033 as well when I have never had that before.
Anyway, I have since gone back to 12.11 beta 11 and it's running much more smoother and yet to have any crashes.

    Just a headsup. :)

At what clockspeeds? I find the game is sensitive on 13.2 beta 6 when I OC the card as high as I can on stock voltage. I can only run 965/1450 at stock 1.05V. Any higher then I get frequent crashes. Could reverting to older drivers make it less prone to crashing?

If your PC can't cap it at 60 it will drop down to 30. That's how Vsync works...

why would you want v-sync? the game has some minor utilization issues so it wont run smooth 60 all the time anyway I'd recommend to run it without.
Now I guess that like me you hate these kinds of answers, that dont adress the question :p

Try disabling v-sync ingame and enable it via CCC

e: hockeymass, his pc should be able to run it though no? 7970M and everything..

I run game 1080p all very high expect shading and objects at high with no AA. My fps are 35-45 with v-sync off but I have tearing. If I enable v-sync it locks at 30 fps. D3doverrider doesn't work.

well if you want 60fps vsync you'll have to achieve that first. drop the settings some. very high is overkill anyway. I play on low and get 80-90fps. try high settings, with shadows on medium. i get around 60fps on high with a large overclock

I wasn't saying his PC couldn't run it, just saying that Vsync by design locks your framerate to some multiple of your monitor refresh rate. So if it can't lock it at 60 then it drops down to locking at 30. Basically it makes no sense to say "I want to use Vsync but not have my framerate locked" because that's all Vsync does.

With a 680M and high OC why wouldn't you play with everything on very high? May as well buy a midrange card if you want to do that lol.

If my lowly 7970M with modest OC can play the game very smoothly at all very high I am sure you will be fine!

Has anyone else noticed weird fps dips in the singleplayer mission 1&2? As in looking in a specific spot will drop fps to 20-25 from ~45-60fps depending on the scene.

Yes the first mission with the rain has really bad issues, second one I'm not so sure, but yes the game has some optimization issues.

King Of Interns, If you mean me, I dont play on very high because the frames are sooo bad, i get like 35-40, now I'm that guy who ever since switching from consoles to pc cant play below 60 frames. It has to be atleast 60.

I play on low because @1440p looks alot better than high @1080p on my 27 inch monitor. I also feel that high doesnt look much better than low, it just looks different kinda hard to explain. Anyway crysis 3 is an exeption here because its so demanding. All the other games I play on max settings :D

    Take a read of this:
Crysis 3 Melts Your Machine, But Low Settings Are Still Beautiful : Crysis 3 Performance, Benchmarked On 16 Graphics Cards

So if that's the case then why buy new GPU's? when the CPU is the better upgrade? I dunno it's kinda stupid when you put physics of ropes swinging on the CPU and yet it destroys the greatest of gaming systems FPS. Me thinks there is some poorly optimized coding going on with Crytek or there was indecisions made about certain aspects of the crytek engine.

    ^totally agree.
my 680 is lucky to go over 72-75c but two of my cores can hit 95-96c and the other two 86-88c
not even battlefield 3 pushes them that much.

I think this must only be with nvidia cards. I have played through the first level several times and my 920xm even heavily OCed doesn't get anywhere near 90C!! I played with everything on very high and smaa x 1.

Perhaps the rope physics is handled by amd cards but not by nvidia cards properly causing the high cpu loads?

Red star rising bug got me... If I die in that chapter and hit load either the BGM disappears or game freezes. And when I click on resume game at title menu the game freezes at loading screen at Data mapping... Well all these issues apply only to red star rising saves... Anyone got a solution?

new DLC released and the maps are quite good. a lot bigger than original maps. only managed 2 quick games so far but looking good

Continue the Hunt in Crysis 3 with The Lost Island DLC! | Crytek

doesnt show on origin but type cry in the search on origin and it shows up. £11.99

i swore i wasnt going to buy it this time after the fiasco with both dlc's and crysis 2 but my next game will be battlefield 4 so this will keep me going for a while.

    anyone else taking the plunge.

I'm somewhere near end of red star rising I think. Game has just gotten annoying more than anything, when you can't quite figure out where you're supposed to go, or go somewhere you think you should be able to but for some reason can't.

I just started red star rising so far this game to me is in the epic category. I will play it again and again and again just like crysis one and warhead. The graphics are truely nextgen. Im currently playing it completely in 720p 3d and it looks amazing 10 feet back. if I sit closer I have to up it to 1080p.

    HTWINGNUT: hang in T sir

So glad this thread is back, Crysis 3 is the most under rated game by gamers iv'e ever experienced since the days of the sega master system

Indeed, the more you play Crysis 3, the more attention to detail you see from crytek developers. It is truly an amazing game graphically speaking.

cant remember the new game name but i had a few games last night where everyone has the same weapon and it changes every minute. great gameplay and brings a whole new feel to the game.

the one problem ive found and would be interested to hear if anyone else is having this problem.
picking the torch up in the other new game. i just cant pick it up??? as far as i can remember it used to be F key but ive tried every key but nothing works. checked controls and theres no blank key strokes so im stumped.

Finally finished Crysis 3 today! :) YAY!

I wouldn't say it was as much fun as it was a grind. All buggy scenes kinda sucked because it was always blurry and couldn't see what the heck was going on. The ending was quite cinematic and drawn out, but that's OK.

One thing I still don't get from Crysis 2 that other dude, Alcatraz, took over the suit yet Prophet still ended up being in the suit in the end? I'm completely confused about that whole thing. Not to mention Nomad and all the crap that happened on that island through Crysis 1 and Warhead, I thought that was a pretty awesome co-story, happened at about the same time. Was hoping Crysis 2 ended up being a third co-plot that tied them all together, but no, just a NYC backdrop.
