1ST PC PATCH IS LIVE
Official Crytek source here
Origin should download it automatically.
-
And you might save it as a profile for the crysis 3 executable. -
I'm getting improved performance - about 10fps more with same settings in all areas after this patch. How about you?
Game is finally playable on my laptop happy days -
still downloading. 217mb and half way there.
no good. another freeze up on second game. -
MrDJ are you referring to MP games? I'll give it a whirl with my machine for a little while too and see what happens. With BF3 the lockups would happen due to PunkBuster issues, but this doesn't use PunkBuster... or does it?
edit: I just played and got dumped to desktop at start of second round... -
yup multiplayer.
joined first game half way through and got to end but now on 9th game and each one on a different server and it freezes each time.
it doesnt dump me to desktop but freezes screen and only way out is ctrl alt del and popup shows game is not responding.
im getting this error which means jack to me:

UPDATE:
Crytek have found the cause of masses of people freezing during games and will (if not already) be re patching another update. -
King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiast
At the ending when prophet slides away from psycho and the screen whites out the game always crashes for me. Had to watch the conclusion on youtube lol
Anyone else have this issue.
Either way interesting ending. Makes me want to fire up Crysis 1 again -

whoops didn't think it was a huge spoiler
also I dunno how to use spoiler tags
-
blah spoil this spoil that
-
hows everyones multiplayer now. any freeze ups still?
Server Owners please reboot your servers for the patch to take effect
no download necessary for players. -
Most servers reboot once every 24 hours, so in the next day hopefully they will all be patched.
-
had 6 games now and no freezing yahooooo!
nice video. me not even played hunter yet, total pants if you ask me. didnt enjoy it in alphaor beta. just hide in a corner and do nothing and get highest points.
now spears on the other had is great and a nice alternative to crashsite. -
one small question.
I have a 6990m and cannot max this game, what settings should I use. like what settings improve performance without taking away visual quality.
right now im using veryhgih everything shading shadows pfx to medium and averaging 20-40 fps. I just cannot see the differance between that and all veryhigh. is it possible I have some weird illness that doesnt let my brain pick up on details? because I just dont see it.
ps if you want to argue instead of help post pictures comparing the two and use proof not slander -
Funny. I went to play Crysis 2 (yes 2) from Origin, and it launched Steam and tried to launch from there... This whole launch client to launch a client to launch a website to launch a game is going to get quite tiresome as time goes on.
-
It tells you what each setting does and how much performance hit it takes
For reference, since patch 1.1, I'm using on my lowly GT 650M (aiming for minimum of 30fps):
Resolution: 1366x768
Anti-aliasing: FXAA
Textures: Very High
Game Effects: High
Object: High
Particles: High
Post Processing: High
Shading: High
Shadows: Low
Water: Very High
Anisotropic Filtering: 16x
Motion Blur Amount: Disabled
Lens Flares: Enabled
I might turn shading and post processing down to medium with more testing. Gotta see if they're worth keeping on high or not. -
Google Translate
Its translated from czech so there maybe some bugs in the text, but if you browse through the pages you'll find what setting cause what fps loss in game.
Dont forget that if your using MSI afterburner to monitor your fps it has a weird bug where it displays double the fps you are really getting, so better use FRAPS. As for me, I'm playing it on high with fxaa and some thigs like water, particles set to very high. The most performance eater is shading, shadows and postproces in my opinion.
There are definitelly visual diffrences between settings, especially water on very high looks gorgeos- those reflections are perfect. But visual quality is much less when it comes to overall experience when compared to smoothnes. Game looks much better on medium and 50 fps than on 20 fps very high. -
thanks alot guys

I wish they just extended the single player a bit more, like 10-15 hours, it is really good so far, I just don't wanna finish it (on the second to last mission
)
-
you can always replay it on harder difficulty later

dont worry Cakefish, your not the only one
will hunt you down for a multi game soon ;-) -
so i fiddled with all the settings.
seriously someone please please post a picture of 1 setting that actually changes the look.
im running all low getting 100fps and it looks amazing for all low heck it looks better than farcry 3 maxed metro maxed and any other game to date, but i guess if you have the power why not max it out just for the heck of it -
Try very high if you don't see a difference something isn't right. FC3 looks better maxxed out than crysis on low

If you can't tell a difference between low and very high settings, you probably need to have your eyes checked, or you're better off gaming on consoles if everything looks the same to you. -
pictures.

pictures then say my eyes need to be checked -

why dont i post screenshots? because im not debating it
why have they not posted screenshots? because they are against me and cannot prove jack!'
failwheel why did you finance a m18x if your income is upwards of 70 k -
failwheeldrive Notebook Deity
I financed the last $1k on my M18x because Dell gives a 5% rebate card if you finance, so it's a free $250 gift card. I also had over two grand in my M17x that I didn't have refunded yet, so money would have been tight if I paid the whole $3k+ up front. You jelly? -

Here's a great "on the fly" cvar editor made by Maldo himself. Allows you to change graphics options and play in slow motion by simply pressing keys in-game. Pretty handy. MaLDoHD for Crysis 2: MaLDo OnTheFly for Crysis 3

my overall review:
game was even shorter than what I expected
AI is horribly designed.
Graphic is good but added way too many graphic eye candy stuff in it. (So much shiny particles, nano patterns when you turn on armor mode, blood, water and the BLOOM, wow I don't think the sun is that bright lol)
Still, the story is way too short and so it really lacks any WOW moments, unlike far cry 3. Feels more like a tech demo tour game more than anything else.
I loved the first chapter in the rain, it's rare to see good rain effects in a good looking game.
I am also surprised at the hardware power it requires because from the look of it, the graphic improvement isn't all that much from crysis 2 but the hardware requirements jumped a lot. (maybe some poor coding?)
Other than some scenes, the low graphics actually doesn't look any worse than the best settings, it just looks/feels different. If you have played in Low and highest graphics, you will know what I mean.
Is this game worth upgrading the graphic card/laptop? NOT AT ALL.
Multiplayer is surprisingly fun -
failwheeldrive Notebook Deity
Antialiasing, texture detail, and anisotropic filtering/postprocessing all have a huge effect on the graphics; it's immediately apparent when you turn settings to low. It's a massive upgrade in graphics from Crysis 2, and easily the best looking game ever made. Even with excellent mods like MaldoHD 4.0 and Quality Mod, Crysis 2 doesn't compare. There are a few problems where certain effects cause a massive performance hit (like the moving ropes in the first level, but it's still really well optimized imo.
Agree that it's way too short, but other than that and a few AI glitches I thought it was awesome. Just wish it were 10-12 hours instead of 5-6. -

Agreed. I said the same thing in another thread lol. I normally dislike DLC, but I'd be happy for some single player content. That, or full sdk and mod capabilities so people can make more content.
-
After playing Crysis 2, Crysis 3 is way way too short...
-
I just don't understand how x32993x can't post the screenshots himself/herself. Whatever.
I'm finishing up Crysis 2 right now and move on to Crysis 3 after. Although Tomb Raider may throw a kink in that plan. Although I have played some Crysis 3 MP and didn't think I'd like it but it's a fun quick romp so far. I can't say I'll play hundreds of hours or even dozens of hours, but for certain may put in 10-20 just trying the different gameplay modes.

Mp is fun but only the first month...
