can u find patches only on fileplanet?
-
where is this new patch?
-
i dont think there is a patch... i belive you have to redownload the whole new client...Beta 3
-
oh, that is what im using. the first issue i had was with the textures but i had to alter the resolution to fix that.... now the issue is with cryengine crashing during gameplay - anyone else?
-
drivers, perhaps? which ones are u using?
-
Yeah my textures are totally out of whack. I can't see anything.
-
The textures gruadually come in from what I heard. It may look all white and stuff but the textures have to load.
-
I tried playing for a few minutes, everything was still messed up. I could see some things, like the ground. Other things were transparent, like the characters, backround and pretty much everything that wasn't the ground.
-
i think i'll just wait for the demo rather than trying to figure out why cryengine crashes for me... seems like waaaay too many people having problems with textures and stuff (including me) - i guess its time to beat farcry
-
damn! check this out. got the game, blah blah blah. ran it, detected 1024*768 all med, no aa or af, i think. played it on that res, but the game looked like crap, so i decided to switch to 1280*800, from then it looked beautiful! i did lose, however, considerable number of fps, but it was still playable and looked great on those settings.
-
OW yeah, I ran Crysis on all low at 800x600 and it ran VERY smooth (above 25FPS). Then I tried the game on all medium at 1024x600 and the game ran OkAy, but not very good either (looked better though
).
In conclusion I can run Crysis very decently on my cr*py X1600 at reasonable settings (low).
PS. Crysis plays the same on both my laptops; one with an X1600 with 256MB of dedicated VRAM and one with 128MB dedicated VRAM. The only difference is that it takes a little longer for the wired textures to clear up to normal on the 128MB X1600. -
i downloaded the beta got a working key, but its asking me about a registration #? where do i get this? thanks again, i wanna see how it runs on the 8600m gt
-
reg number is the same as ur key, make sure to use hyphens

does anybody like the bloody game?

If you're having problems, be sure to install the 163.69 divers from LaptopVideo2Go (for your respective OS). There are some even newer ones (163.71) that include further improvements for Crysis, but the modded .inf isn't up for it yet...
I was also having crazy texture problems until I installed the 163.69's that I'm using now.
Edit:
Edit2:)
-
Is your texture problem something like EVERYTHING that look like artefacts?
Because that's what I get on my desktop. The sound is also very lagggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggy. But I'm betting this is because my CPU is the bare minimum + integrated sound + 1.5GB RAM on Vista -
) and as far as i believe, those modded infs do not add anything special to the drivers, they just tell it that 8600m gt(the mobile version) is compatible... i don't think that that particular inf file would make any performance difference..
@crimsonman, yeah..the game is pretty nice...not revolutionary or anything, like a lot of people seem to put it....it's a little better than far cry, graphics wise, but nothing put of ordinary... or at least not form what i've seen playing it for 15 mins.. -
about the laggy textures, i had them only when i booted in the game first at 1024*768...changed to 128-*800 and had no such problem anymore..*yet*

If people keep talking about specific details about crysis, I'm going to have to lock the thread. Read the NDA agreement!
-
but it's not something so illegal that breaks the dna agreement...

Yeah you guys are revealing too much. When you check that little box you are essentially signing a legally binding contract. Main problem is that thats an illegal activity which these forums can't condone.
General NDA:
"A non-disclosure agreement (NDA), also called a confidential disclosure agreement (CDA), confidentiality agreement or secrecy agreement, is a legal contract between at least two parties that outlines confidential materials or knowledge the parties wish to share with one another for certain purposes, but wish to restrict from generalized use. In other words, it is a contract through which the parties agree not to disclose information covered by the agreement. An NDA creates a confidential relationship between the parties to protect any type of trade secret. As such, an NDA can protect non-public business information." -
once the 3d beta was made available to the general public, that pretty much meant A LOT more people will get their hands on it. don't u guys think we're actually helping them out by expressing our limited feedback (textures and settings, for example). a lot more people will want to get it because of that, i think. the game is pretty tight for a beta.

I'm just saying I understand why the mod wants to close the thread.
-
not being a snitch, but what about this particular thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=175322

But what often doesn't get included with these statements is that the game is not optimized or complete - they are constantly tweaking the gameplay, and performance is hampered by a very un-optimized engine (which should drastically improve - as much as 50-75% according to them - by the time it's released) as well as additional resource-heavy background programs for the beta that monitor gameplay and technical data so they can analyze it and make adjustments. -
-
so crysis runs decent on a 8600m gt?
-
can't tell u lol
p.s. yezzzir -
EDIT: never mind
