After TW3 i was depressed. Because I could not enjoy other games, it was that good . Downgrading unless really bad is bs. Its just game optimization to run smoothly without unecessary toll on cpu/gpu- many dont understand this.

Is it just me that I feel the so called downgraded final version looks way better than their E3 version that many talk about. I felt the final version was more colorful.

When people talk about the downgrade, they're referring to the VGX trailer.

Yeah I have seen this. Although it has a more cinematic feel and colors, I still feel final version is very beautiful in its own right- yeah the graphics went down a bit to make sure min specs is not a 1080ti . For me after playing TW3, this video sums it up:

I feel the realism in CP77 might finally look as good as the VGX trailer you linked partly due to gpu improvements this gen. Lets hope..

CDPR changed the renderer after VGX, but even as late as E3 2014 they were still showing unrepresentative footage of the old renderer interspersed with the new one:

The lack of forthcomingness until they could no longer skirt the topic, that was the main complaint, not about the downgrade itself.

Anyway, the Cyperbunk 2077 hype is real. It looks like a true generational leap over Witcher 3, and I find the cyberpunk setting far more engrossing than dark fantasy. The lighting and materials work in the trailer look amazing. The primitive lighting (few dynamic sources, and lack of global illumination) and plastic looking skin shading were huge turn-offs for me in Witcher 3. Yes I'm a shallow SOB, but for singleplayer games, graphics and immersion factor are almost as important as gameplay and narrative for me. Multiplayer games, I don't give a rat about visual quality as long as it plays well. I also hope the new game is optimized better without compromising on fidelity like the last game did, although that may be asking too much from CDPR as they have never realeased a well-optimized game. Witcher 3 with HairWorks off still makes my GTX 1080 sweat even at 1080p if I keep foliage draw distance at the highest setting, and Novigrad is a stutter fest unless you have 12 CPU threads. There are many open-world games that both look and run better than TW3, so here's to hoping Cyperbunk improves in the optimization departement.

Have played Thief 3. Thief is classic! I have just gone back to Skyrim now. Although dated textures and bland visuals compared to witcher3 its still hasn't lost it charm.

Btw have u played kingdome come (KCD)? Its amazing, gonna be my next RPG to finish.

naw bro, im old school. Thief 3 is quite bad compare to the original thief imho, not nearly immersive, graphic/looks aside, the sound/music/level design, map design, game mechanics are all better than thief 3.

Sometimes places will use end of year dates as filler when they have nothing else. This is interesting though. Weird that they wouldn't have announced it if it was this close. I call BS on this one.

The giant comes with a deadline, by which time the projects must be completed. Assuming they’re for Cyberpunk (they totally are), there has to be a Cyberpunk 2077 release date in June 2019.

Boy howdy. Now that I've seen the demo shown to the journalist at E3 I'm more excited than ever to get my hands on this one. I went through it a couple times trying to see what I could pick up that might not have been reported but didn't really see anything. I had read something about NPCs without quests responding with more than a "hello" or some such when you click em but if it is there the demo never touched on it. I always thought that was a weakness in games of this sort, some of the characters are clearly not part of the game, just scenery. Not a deal breaker or anything like that but it would be a big step forward in immersion if every NPC responded in a fashion that made them a living part of the world instead of something akin to plastic plants.

It looks fine and all, but the real question is, will we be able to Safety Dance?

Jokes aside, watched the demo video a couple of times and it got me very excite for the game. I think FPP indeed works the best for the gameplay, which kinda reminds me of DOOM.
When it will be able to purchase I'm gonna throw all my money at CDPR, as they are one of the few in the gaming industry who really deserve it.

Analyzed the gameplay video multiple times. My opinions for discussion are below (I took into account it is in alpha):
I just felt they "could" have easily given a 3rd RPG view option (nothing pathbreaking or new, skyrim had it) and it would not break the gameplay. Gameplay seems fluid (i find those flying numbers too distracting imo, would have prefered just the bars). Population density outdoors look good similar to Novigrad (didnt feel the hype tbh). Indoors were not revolutionary, just same as some games. Graphics looked great and left me scratching my head (didnt feel the hype again over here). It wasnt like revolutionary or somethin (maybe im biased due to the dynamic realistic scenery from kingdome come/ witcher3 ). I felt the color pallete made the building facade too bright and bland like "judge dredd" rather than the colorful "gta V". Of course they havent shown night gameplay, outskirts-dusty mountains and other districts so my opinions might vary. Please chime in your perspectives!

C'mon man. Im not getting into ur gears. Been playing fps since grade school lol so what am I supposed to counter. If i can play skyrim in both first and third whats the big deal (skyrim isnt the only one too). Some place i preferred first and in some third, used to switch by pressing a button on keyboard lol. I like to see the clothing and world view from third person perspective sometimes (its not a game destroying experience). Not a point of contention. If you have your constructive perspective, please share.

PS: I can imagine Doom in third person might look like Mass effect

Now now, no need to get so defensive.
Shooter in FFP and 3rd use different mechanics, and what suits one doesn't always suit another. 3rd person shooters usually use cover mechanic, which in FPS doesn't work so well. That 's why I mentioned to try to imagine how Doom would play in TPP... Probably horrible. And if CDPR needs to switch to 3rd person view this means they would have to rebuild maps, to suit both perspective gamestyles.
And Skyrim isn't the best example in my opinion. At least I found combat in 3rd person too clunky. Roaming open world is fine, but combat...
I guess something like that could work for CP2077 though - roaming city in either first or third perspective, but switch to FPP in combat.

Totally agree with what you said regarding gameplay. Im 100% on the same boat. Your last para explains my viewpoint beautifully. Would have preferred third person switching mechanism on my keyboard to roam around the street and inside the mega building etc.

Killkenny1, BTW what did you think about the color palette they have used for buildings etc? I felt graphics were amazingingly fluid and view distance was superb.

If it's a choice it doesn't matter, the end user chooses, everybody wins, problem solved. I'm not sure why that didn't make it in but I suspect there is a reason based on how emphatic they are despite some vocal criticism. Frankly, I'm first person whenever possible so for me it's all good. Looking at it realistically even if it was 3rd only I'd still play and I'm sure, enjoy it; although I'd need a little bit of whine sauce to make it more palatable. :)

    Of course!
Because the game was already released and we have benchmark results.

I think they cut TPP because it doesn't suit the combat, pure and simple. To allow both, they would probably have to change gameplay mechanics and/or make some restriction, which might already be too late or will once again lengthen the development.
Obviously more choice is always better. but personally I don't give a toot. I will play it either way - FPP, TPP, or both. Perspective is really not a big deal, in my opinion. Although there are plenty of people on the internet who obviously feel otherwise. But I will leave it to them...

No way to know this. Wait for the game to be released and for it to be added to benchmark suites.

You're looking at it the wrong way... The question is not will it run in HD at 60 frames on a 1070, the question is "Do I I need to upgrade to the latest and greatest?" I can tell you right now the answer to that question is almost invariably yes! :)
