Yes, I am patiently waiting for this game myself.
I'm still undecided if I will pre-order on release, or wait to go on sale. It will all depend on how much GW2 keeps my interest. -
This is a day one buy for me! Huge fan of Deus Ex: HR and this game promises to be faster, with more options, and the ability to be creative.
-
Me too! This game sounds very promising, not to mention the looks of it are insane

They've now produced a short animated film series narrated by Chloe Grace Moretz Tales From Dunwall - Part 1: The Awakening

I don't know why, but this game reminds me of Thief 2: The Metal Age
Stealth?
Steampunk?
Hmm... SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!

It's from Bethesda, of course I'm getting it!

Wow, today's episode really blew me away - just gorgeous animation. They should release it on bluray or something.

Now they've released a pretty cool interactive video, actually lets you sort of play through an early level map via making your choices on youtube. I tried it a couple times and died!

One more day!

The Steam preorders will supposedly unlock in a few hours at 9pm PST / 12am EST.
If anyone has it, please let us know your performance results, as the official minimum specs seemed to be way too high IMO. Perhaps they were just being cautious. -
I'm hoping to purchase Dishonored soon, does anyone know if I can plug my controller in and play?
-
ÐÑпиÑÑ Dishonored (Steam-веÑÑиÑ) Supposedly this would mean its only around £10. Anyone know how legit this site is? And if i'd get the EU language?
-
It's a Russian site... Does that tell you enough?
-
I don't know? Should it? Just asking if anyone else has bought from these before as it could save quite a few people a bit of cash...
-
yuplay is legit...
its were i got sleeping dogs and borderlands 2 for cheap -
The person above has and says his transaction was successful but I personally don't trust ANY Russian site just from previous experiences(My anti-virus goes crazy if I dare visit a Russian site.) Nothing against Russians, I'm Russian myself.
-
Been on a game buying kick here lately it seems, but just snagged a copy from Greenmangaming.com using their 25% off coupon, got the key instantly... downloading from Steam now... excited to play, watched some gameplay videos and reviews, looks like fun. Reminds me a bit of Thief/Bioshock type games, of which I loved both.
-
That reminds me, I never finished Bioshock 2 even though I loved Bioshock 1. I guess I may get Dishonored although I will likely never get to play it for another year, lol.
-
Running great, played for about 1.5 hours so far, really liking the gameplay even in the early stages. Performance is better than I expected, have everything maxed with in game settings @ 1600x900 and MLAA on, rat shadows off, and smooth as silk on my G73... haven't bothered to FRAPS yet but no reason to, haven't had a single hiccup yet. Seems at least to me the minimum requirements were set a bit high for this one... so far very impressed and look forward to continuing game play.
Ha, I actually never finished Bioshock 2 either, loved the first, but got distracted.... Dishonored is good so far, I wasn't really following its development, but saw some posts and watched some footage, and got excited the last couple weeks. Was gonna wait for a sale, but was itching for a good action/first person/stealth type game.... so far it is delivering! Have been in a FTL fog the last couple weeks with non stop play, AWESOME game there and can't say enough good things, but was up for a change of pace for a bit before I go back after those pesky Rebels.... -

That's great to hear, I was a bit concerned because the official minimum specs are crazy high, like higher than Metro2033 and Witcher 2 min. specs.
I see some of your specs in your sig, but what is your graphics card? -
Sorry, should have included that.... playing on my trusty G73JH, with the ATI 5870 and older i7.... definitely not cutting edge anymore ha. Was a tad worried with listed minimum requirements but game plays great on my hardware. It runs as well and I dare say better than metro 2033 or witcher 2 at least so far in my limited play time.... performance shouldn't be an issue.
-
Really good to hear,
Either way it all comes down on how much they optimize it,
I mean games like crysis 2 and Witcher 2 run great in any system that meets the requirements.
Then you have others like Divinity dragon saga and carrier command that the graphics are not demanding at all yet run so bad. -
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
Never tried Crysis 2, but Witcher 2 seems to be poorly optimized compared to most other recent games. It seems to be much more reliant on GPU. Many folks I know who can run every game at 1080p need to drop down to 720p for Witcher 2. I've tried lots of recent games, everything runs great at 1080p, often with mostly maxed settings, but Witcher 2 runs like crap even at 720p on lowest possible settings.
I was particularly concerned about Dishonored because the minimum specs for Witcher 2 (Nvidia 8800 GTS 512M, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz, 1GB RAM) are much lower than Dishonored's minimum specs (Nvidia GTX 460 / AMD 4850, 3GHz Dual Core CPU, 3GB RAM). -
Haven't read the comments above but have just played this great unique niche title and up to 3rd level.
The graphics have an element of HL2 to them and the scenery too. I am thinking this looks like a valve game. Easily getting past 100fps and am using MLAA as FXAA was poorer image quality well what I saw when choosing it.
Anyway enjoying it immensely and is rather unique and do love the beheading's with the sword.

Just bought/downloaded it. Looking forward to playing it.

Pre ordered mine from Yuplay. Yey!!!
-
failwheeldrive Notebook Deity
HL2's art director worked on this game, so it should look similar to half life
. It's like a more fantastical/exaggerated HL2. I just wish the textures were better.
-
Awwww damn, this one is actually region locked. Managed to activate it with VPN but cant download it. Sucker!!!
-
That was a great game... Though I beat it in 15 hours. I did all the side missions and everything on very hard difficulty.
-
Thought so.... and yeah the textures are a little old me thinks circa 2003 old..
-
moviemarketing Milk Drinker
How is the replay value, does it seem like a game you will want to play several times to try different approaches? -
Yeah I'll probably run through it again without using stealth this time. Pure chaos this go round.
-
Right so, activated it and downloaded it via VPN. But if i restart Steam and and try to play it, it remains region restricted. My only choice is to use a VPN, start steam and go "offline"
No ideal, but i suppose it works.
Avoid this one on Yuplay. -
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
I keep loosing my key bindings. I usually play offline, but that should be saved local right? Anyone know where that info is saved?
-
I've been doing the same with XCOM
My steam is in offline mode for days. -
The game was not for me.
I prefer more thrilling and engaging gameplay which just wasn't there for me in Dishonored.
The story was decent at the beginning but became a drab and ultimately boring.
The game brought me the feeling of nostalgia due to its similarity to Splinter Cell, just with less murder.
