*Dead Deal* HOLIDAY DEAL: steam's five day long, one day only sale!

I got mirror's edge and monkey island today. Osmos & Grid friday.

 

I bought Mirror's Edge, just so I can throw away the retail disc.

 

Deals today kind of suck. I guess I'ma grab the THQ pack.

I'm always installing/uninstalling games so that wouldn't work

Especially because there are no hotlines/helplines you can all in the middle east for stuff like this

 

You know most people only play the single player once, but think about how often would you be playing this game? If you can get a great experience for 10 bucks I think its worth it, plus there is always ways of getting around the drm...

 

true, but for me at least, steam as a drm is a plus. i want to know i can return to a game years later without any trouble, even less trouble with a physical copy.
imo steam is one of the few drm system that doesn't try to restrict your rights rather than just managing them. gog is also very cool but their library is much smaller.

Section 8 doesnt look very good...

 

It's high-tech fighting with soldiers in armor that would make the Master Chief cry. I think I'll love it.

 

Beta was pretty fun, it had a tribes feel to it

These were some good deals.

 

I bought KOTOR on Friday for $2.49. Must... stop... playing... The story is better than the three prequel movies combined. I don't know why I didn't pick it up years ago.

 

The story is better than almost any movie I've watched in the last 10 years. Best video game story ever.

P.S. M2TW is a great game

 

I grabbed Mirror's edge, and have been downloading it for the better part of the past day and half, and am only at 70%. Love my dial-up fast DSL.

Mirror's Edge is going at around 35

Guess the servers are overloaded

But, it was a great deal

EDIT - As soon as I posted, it jumped to 195 kb/s

Hey at least you have high speed, there are still people out there with 56k. I remember back in the days when the halo 1 demo came out for pc I would leave my pc on and go to school and come back to see it done. So it was like 8 plus hours to download 100mb on a 56k modem... And sometimes the modem would fail then you would have to start all over...

 

Oh, I definitely remember those days, except I actually had Halo for the PC along with Custom Edition, so downloading maps was always a multiple-day affair.

 

... ohhhh dagnabbit! I missed the last day of the sale! I wanted to pick up Evil Genius and Mirror's Edge. Damn me!
