The thing to me though is why L4d 2 is better doesn't anyone else feel like it lost some of the ambiance in its transition?

Wow, my sentence made no sense, lol.
At least you understood what i was saying. -
l4d1 is totally worth it, its movie ticket price now! and tax free too!

Theres less then 6 hours left, jump on it if you can.
-
If I get L4D2 from Amazon, can I use the CD key from it to tie it into my Steam Account? I'm looking to have it be re-downloadable from Steam mostly...

Ty for the reply. -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
And I haven't updated that thread in ages. Sigh. -
I still want to get L4D...but I just spent $200 yesterday so I can replace the exhaust on my car. :/ Oh well...

What do you guys think, is BF2 worth picking up now? I'm always hesitant to start a game like this so late, as I usually get steam rolled by all the veteran players?
-

Well if you are good at FPSs I'd imagine it wouldn't take too long to learn the weapons/map/quirks of the game. No real deals today that I want either. I'm just crossing my fingers for torchlight.
-
For $15 it's hard to go wrong. Gameplay used to be dominated by dolphin-diving tv-cam ace vets, but since they just released a new patch with expansions now free, there's been a revitalization. Though that's another thing, I take quarrel with them charging money for free expansions, at least now the price reflects this more accurately.

Btw is there another set of offers tomorrow or was this the last one? Also when will the THQ pack sale be taken down?
-
I also have a question about the thq pack. Do you guys think it will be offered again this Christmas? i.e. was it offered twice last year during the holiday season?
Also, thanks to all who responded to my question on BF2. If anyone has comments on the current state of punkbuster that would be helpful as well. I've read a lot of conflicting reports on its intrusiveness and problems updating. -

I've bought several games from Steam in the last couple of days, like GRID, Plants Vs. Zombies, Left 4 Dead, etc.
I've just tried to purchase World of Goo now and my debit card is being declined, saying the company (my bank Chase) is denying the card.
Has Chase put a hold on my card or my entire checking account because I've bought all these games and they may suspect its fraud? I've never had this happen to me before, its a huge shock to me.
What a major pain, now I have to contact Chase Support and the deal may expire on the game before this gets sorted out and I may not get to buy any games for the final sale tomorrow.
Stupid overbearing Chase bank!!!! I really, really hope I don't have to keep doing this every time I make several purchases in a couple of days! -
-
I added the last set of deals to the first post. Only 12.5 hours left!
-
is there going to be another set of deals tomorrow, or is this going to be the last set?
i believe the deals started on Wednesday and today should mark the last day -
I think today is the last day of deals.
-
Senor Mortgage Notebook Evangelist
Damn. I was hoping for a final cyber Monday extravaganza.
-
The wording is a little ambiguous, as it says that there will be a new sale every day through Monday.
I purchased BF2, so I'm pretty happy. -
I believe there is one more set of deals for tomorrow.
-
Thanks-you for posting this, ive been away for a while and missed so much. xD

Part of this is due to the fact that banks are seeing more online fraud lately, and it is giving them problems, so multiple online purchases in a short period of time can trigger red flags.
I have managed to do so several times when shopping at Amazon.
Amazon Prime FTW!
Doh, looks like they put my card on hold again.
Edit: called HSBC, not an issue on their side.
Might be a Steam issue. If you purchased several games over the last few days, it is possible that the hold on your account is due to fraud protection. -

So I ended up getting KoToR, and some war game by square enix, what did the rest of you guys get?
-
Senor Mortgage Notebook Evangelist
Nothing off steam yet, though I did nab Borderlands from Amazon for 20. If nothing cool comes up today I might splurge for the THQ pack.
-
Evil Genius for $2.49 is a good classic RTS/action game. Mirror's Edge for $5 might be worth it too. $25 for Section 8, but meh, maybe wait for it to drop below $20.
-
Seems like the last day sales aren't that great
-
was hoping Cyber Monday would bring epic deals... but much suckage here haha, oh well got Dragon Age Origins out of it, kind wish I jumped on a couple other deals but was holding out.
-
manwithmustache Notebook Evangelist
oooh if Mirror's edge is $5 then I'm gonna have to get on that
-
I already picked up Mirror's Edge for $6 and Prince of Persia for $7 at Half Price Books, they have a lot of copies.
-
Is Mirror's Edge any good?

I've bought LOADS of games these last days, these deals have been epic indeed.
Dragon Age Origins, Aion, Left 4 Dead 2, Far Cry 2, Dead Space, Grid, Left 4 Dead 1, Madballs in Babo, Mirror's Edge, Quantz, Osmos, Resident Evil 5, Monkey Island Special Edition, World of Goo.
Damn thats alot.. -
REALLY REALLY want to get mirror's edge, hopefully my dad will let me borrow his card
Also, I'm looking at riddick
How good is it?
I mean 2 games for $10 is a steal -
yep, had to snag Riddick and Mirror's Edge today... was hopelessly hoping for CODMW2 for a sale of some sort, but also snagged Dragon Age early on.
Downloading Riddick now, loved the first one, so excited about it. Dragon Age, I know everyone loves it, but struggling to get into that one... played about 6 hours so far, fairly boring... just my humble opinion though. -
Added Monday's deals to the first post. Nothing too exciting today IMO.
-
killed the deal for me. -
mirrors edge is awesome 5$ is a steal!
-
-
ended up grabbing Mirror's Edge and Monkey Island today.. and previous haul included Madballs 2x (gifted to sis) and Dragon Age Origins. hooray!
-
Steam had placed a hold on my account for fraud protection probably because I bought several games in a short period of time. Has this happened to anyone else? Because of it, I missed on the $5 World of Goo sale.
I got it fixed now and purchased several more games from them. Their cryptic error message hinted to me that my bank was the problem and I called them and they stated they placed no holds on my debit card so I found out Steam was the culprit.
Hope it doesn't happen again. -
Not too familiar with TAGES to be honest
Thanks -
i personally never heard of TAGES before, but i really don't like excessive drm, steam itself is enough.
*Dead Deal* HOLIDAY DEAL: steam's five day long, one day only sale!
