Is anyone running this with specs similar/the same as mine?
i7 2630qm @ 2.0Ghz
4gb ddr3
6770M 1gb DDR5
If so, what performance are you getting, and at what settings? Wouldn't mind picking this up if it runs well!

Phistachio got a notebook similar to yours, but slightly slower.
He gets mad performance. :3 -
^ in that case then lol
-
oh dang. I get paid Wednesday. hope that $35 thing is still going.

I must be moving a bit slower. I just finished the 2nd boss, Yelena, and am now back in Detroit after 25 hours. Good news though, I have most of the augments, only need a final few to be full decked out. I'm also sitting on a very very large sum of credits, 30k and no more Praxis to buy
-
I like that it's set in Detroit.

The only real complaints i can find, is some textures and some facial animations. So yeah when those 2 are the only problems (They are only small problems) then you know its a well made game!

I play at DX11, No AA, No SSAO, Normal DOF, 16xAF, Normal shadows, Tessellation enabled, Post Processing enabled at 1080p. It performs better than I expected! SPECIALLY at DX11 WITH a noticeable amount of tessellation ( character meshes )!
Don't worry, you'll run it just fine! -

Everything maxed out at 60+FPS with a i7 920 @ 4GHz and 5870 @ Stock (desktop). I'm new to this kind of FPS, but it seems worth it so far. Requires a little more strategy than your run of the mill shooter, I'm sort of the guy that just prefers going in guns blazing!
Bought the game yesterday at Target for $50 and got a $10 gift-card.
Anyways, can anyone help me figured out the hacking? I've watched the tutorial videos and read the manual but I still suck at it and have no idea what I'm doing. FYI, I'm trying to get into the safe box in the storage unit at the beginning of the game, it's a level 3 security but I always run out of time and get kicked out. Any tips? -

1) Do another sidequest to get praxis points and decrease the chances of getting detected.
2) Providing your chance of not getting detected is somewhere around 50/60% you can try quicksaving and quickloading until you get at least two nodes in undetected.
Just locate the fastest way to the main node/s, and also check for SPAM nodes, that give you a few more seconds to work. -

Alright, I got it! I upgraded my stealth skills so now it takes a little longer for the system to detect an intrusion. I've done the first two side quests and now I have to sneak into the Police Station morgue. I hate having to be sneaky but I can't just shoot everyone in the police station.
Any tips how to get into the morgue which is in the basement? I've already been through the roof access and second floor door entrances but it's nearly impossible to get to the morgue through there with so many police officers. -
As for sneaking in, I guess my only tip is just remember as long as they don't go from alarmed to hostile, the cops won't hold any grudges against you. Just fall back to a non-restricted area or out of sight when they get mad and you can safely wait for them to wander off. Nonlethal weapons and takedowns should be okay to use too, the street vendor in the first area should sell a tranq rifle to help with that. -

I couldn't convince the guy to let me in lol, so I hacked the sewer entrance door. All I had to do was tranquilize the scientist in the morgue.

Only a few hours into the game and have to say, it seems they did a fantastic job, not screwing up what made the original a great game..........and dig the music too, which is reminiscent of the original !

This game is great, my only annoyance is that I cannot play it with DX11 without it crashing every couple of hours

i find it hard to fault the game, im just wrapping things up after my first visit to China, and at around 19hrs logged to date, other than the facial animations and lack of being able to stealth bosses, this is a near perfect game, the story is absolutely gripping and.....hmmm i actually find it somewhat believable as a possibility in the future......great fun.....i highly recommend it.
runs flawlessly on max settings @ 1920x1200 with the notebook in my sig, a couple of friends have said they have had some stability issues with their Nvidia cards.....but nothing to complain about from my side. -
I was shocked about the fact that I TOTALLY forgot about the hostages at the beginning...hahahaha!
"Have you heard about my husband...he was with the hostages..."
"I'm sorry, they didn't make it..."
"Oh my god...how could this happen..."
"I'm sorry."
Hahahaha, I literally had a jaw drop moment.
Restart time...!
-
Im at my second play now, doing a pacifist run.
Hard to resist using "hold Q". xd -
-
. I restarted my game and saved them ...finally haha.
Oh and I made a small mini movie with my laptop, although I'm not that great in making movies.

Are you able to play on max settings? and did you update your drivers via nvidia site vs. Sager? -

Either way, I'm fairly excited to FINALLY be able to play this game without crashing and on DX11. -
Its a scripted call that you recieve after 15 minutes.
SWATs bulls*** you anyways.
They still do it when you save all the hostages and only knock out the enemies.
At least i got respect among the victims. -

lol i got bored last night and started taking out the entire police station via knock outs and dragging them in to ducts. I hope I don't need them later in the game ;x
-
I am a pro at the conversations, except for the desk sergeant at the police station, he went all emo on me.
Waiting for power to come back up so I can play again. -
im at the police station and i talked to the dudes, they wont let me in.what do i do now?

I'm the kinda guy who will sneak in and starting headshotting everyone one by one. Basic pistol w/ armor piercing and laser FTW!! Yesterday I took out an entire contingent of Belltower officers in that Chinese city using only my pistol.
Screw stealth, if I can go in and take out everybody I will. I feel better knowing everyone is dead and that no one is gonna come after me. -
To me, the best investment of Praxis points was the maxed out Typhoon. I killed both bosses so far with two Typhoon blasts. -
-
You go past the police station, youll see a group of 3 punks talking, go in the door near them, get past the electrified water, then when you go outside you should be able to find a way to get up the side of the building. That's my best recollection of how I did it.
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
The best way to get into the Police Station is a door in the sewer that leads you directly into the basement. You have to hack it, but it's much easier than going through the roof or fire escape doors.
All I had to do was tranquilize a lab tech in the morgue and avoided one guard. Easy enough. -
Front door, second floor backdoor, airduct on the roof and sewer entrance. -
the best way is to just persuade your friend to let you in
-
Getawayfrommelucas Notebook Evangelist
I read somewhere that hacking is useless...I completely disagree because when you get it maxed out xp pours in like candy
-
I do recommend that you invest points into Stealth hacking, since being detected usually means an alarms and a bunch of angry guards. -
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Hacking can be a little annoying sometimes with level 3 terminals and up, but it's quite rewarding once you figure it out. I've yet to trigger an alarm by failing to hack into anything yet. I'm playing on the normal difficulty.
One thing I've noticed though is it's not really a good idea to do head to head combat, you have to sort of sneak around and take people out one by one. Although I'll be the first to admit that I have started firefights with 10-12 armed guards head on and won!
It just requires A LOT of ammo which is something that's not easy to acquire. I can easily burn through 40-50 shots in such a firefight using my pistol only. I really do love the pistol because mine is upgraded with armor piercing and laser upgrades, so it's really accurate as opposed to the sub-machine guns and assault rifle which have too much bullet spray IMO. -
I randomly tried a head on fight with one of those big- sentry droids that walks on four legs. That was intense...
