    I just finished Deus Ex... I almost cried at the end ;_;

    It's just true... I chose :
    to broadcast Darrow's confession
and then it showed a clip, that I just can't say how amazingly true it is...

Eidos has won my respect again. I hope they make another worthy sequel of Deus Ex. This is an amazing game, with the best storyline I've seen.

I did no sidequests, only the main story, which is like they said : around 25 hours.

My choice was more brutal. xD
Flood the whole station, killing everyone.

Im doing my second run now, grabbing all the sidequests, doing some achievements and try the pacifist run.
    Its pretty challenging.

One thing I just noticed, experience system is kinda broken. If you do every sidequest, hack everything, and play with stealth, you can easily max out your augs by the end of the game. And every new power loses its individuality.
If any of you ever played Alpha Protocol, it was done much better there, you had to save XP points for the big upgrades, and even then, you could max two abilities at most, and maybe complete half of other two.

I don't really mind this, the original DX had some really hard choices for augs and skills, and it was kind of frustrating.

Game runs great on my p7805u @ 1920x1200, maxed settings except ssao. Runs unexpectedly smooth at those settings on my beastly 9800m gts :D

For those who have finished, how badly do you want to play it again? Is there replayability?

Already started my second playthrough, on the highest difficulty (had played medium before). For me the replayability comes from self imposed challenges wanting to get achievements, like non lethality, no alarms, etc. And of course, trying to find different routes and taking more time to discover every piece of information/email,etc. I can.

I never had a chance to play the first, but I've heard amazing things. Can't really decide if I want to drop cash on this or not...Is it something I'd enjoy if I'm not into OCD gaming?

The shooting in this game is pretty bland.

So drop cash if you are patient to play stealth. You get far more benefits from stealth in this game and spent a lot of time interacting with a weird hacking system for computers. One of those point and click on nodes. It's a very tedious game.

    Example Scenario:
    - Must infiltrate a building. Hack into random computer from some dude to confirm and discover new info.
    - Building is guarded with guards patrolling the around and within building.
    - Run around until you either find a sewer entrance or able to traverse upwards unto some ceiling or some floor with an entrance through the vents,
    - After infiltrating in vent, you must be careful and look for patrol.
    - Wait for patrol to come to you, you don't want to knock him out where other guards might see him fall.
    - Knock him out. Hide his body in the vent you just crawled out of.
    - Proceed further, and wait for another guard. Knock him out. Drag his body all the way back to the vent, you don't want it discovered, the body.
    - Proceed a little further, knock out another guard, hide his body.
    - Finally reach the room. Few guards in there. Wait until both looking away, sneak around them. Get computer.
    - Play the tedious hack the computer mini game.
    - Sneak away from room after, waiting for guards to move and look away.
    - Sneak through vent and out.

    Tedious to the extreme.

It has a bit of an elaborate plot also.

For a more casual fun game, if you haven't played it with some RPG elements, I'd go with Borderlands. The best shooting game with some story plot I think in a long time. It's a lot of fun and very casual. Very little frustration in this game.

If you think this game is tedious and/or frustrating, you have to try the Deus Ex Alginon Run.

    Have fun!

Different strokes for different folks. Borderlands is not even in the same galaxy as this game, completely different. If you're looking for a pure shooter, this just isn't the game for you.

You exaggerate way too much. Borderlands true doesn't have stealth. But then DX doesn't have the quality of shooting mechanics as Borderlands does.

But they are both action/FPS games with RPG elements. And I was telling who I was responding to, if you are a casual gamer just looking for some fun, I'd suggest Borderlands over DX since DX is pretty tedious, and I don't think very casual. Try replying within the context in which I was replying to person I was replying to instead of just having some pissing contest.

I wasn't saying DX was a better game, I was saying that they can't really be compared because they're completely different. I think they're both great games, but if you don't like a more RPG style shooter, Borderlands isn't going to be too much fun. It definitely has more RPG elements to it (inventory management, hit points, levels, etc) that I didn't enjoy. Don't be so defensive.

I have to admit, I'm just not that blown away by this game. I've heard all the hype about the original. Never got around to playing it, even though I've been gaming since Pong. Think I was much more into the original Thief game, and Half Life, back around Deus Ex days.

Don't get me wrong; this is a quality game. It just doesn't do all that much for me. Found that I enjoy the hacking game, and have maxed out my augs in that fashion. Also, as stated, this is a MUCH better stealth game than a gun/shooting game. Anyone approaching this game expecting a COD experience, is going to be sadly disappointed.

Still, for whatever reason, it just isn't blowing my socks off. The bland as hell graphics don't help either.

It doesn't ever have to be run-and-gun, though. Apart from boss fights. Which were probably the weakest part of the game on the whole, but well.

How sad if you think this game requires brain matter. Very little brain activity is going on with this game. The conspiracy and story is straight forward, no surprises so far or anything that makes me ponder. None of the puzzles are worth mentioning and none of the game mechanics are of any concern.

Very little brain activity required. It's just VERY VERY TEDIOUS. Tedious does not equate difficult or requiring a lot of thought.

DEHR runs very well in the 30+range @ 1200p max settings with normal ssao and 8x anisotropic. The 9800m Gts, with some pro overclocking and tweaking has been an epic card in dealing with the latest games.

Gee. Must have set you back quite a bit picking up that rig. Why not just set it up yourself and get the same parts at half the price from NewEgg?

Anyways. I finished HR a short while ago, and I can say that it's been a great ride. 25 or so hours on Medium difficulty, stealthy, non-lethal, sidequests all done.

Dell Outlet + 20% coupon + first thing in the morning before they got scarfed (I only found one for this price) for one day special = Fully loaded Aurora R3 (Even includes new Tactx KB + Mouse combo) = $1149 shipped to my door.

I'm one of the few unlucky who resides in NJ and gets hit by Newegg sales tax. :( I usually end up buying from Amazon more than Newegg now except for specialized parts.

Definitely looking forward to the game. I've played through the first one so many times, and I even played through the second more than once.

Hey I had a question about something I screwed up lol. I accidentally threw a flashbang grenade in the alley near the basketball court (Detroit). And it saved after I threw it. Now I cannot go back... I had already done the quest for Tindall and killing the thugs at the basketball court, but I was wondering, the vagabonds I had to kill, were they important? Thanks

lol, I normally do build my own rigs (Been building rigs for over 15yrs now). I was price shopping a 590 or 6990 to upgrade my aging rig's GTX 280 (3 years strong, <3 EVGA), but for the price I paid, it came out LESS than buying the components from, well, anywhere.

At Newegg, the price of the GPU and CPU alone = $1127 shipped. Price paid for the entire desktop loaded (in sig) w/ TactX KB+Mouse = $1149 shipped.

If you can build me out a complete system with water cooled i7-2600K, Radeon 6990, 875w+ PSU, custom case, BR/DVDRW, Windows 7 Ultimate License, 1TBx2, 8GB, SB Titanium, and a good KB+Mouse combo and an on site warranty for $1149 total shipped to my door, I'll take a looksy. ;)

I know I can play it again, but I LOVE this series (minus Invisible War) and I want more of the story, and especially more of this style (the Human Revolution aesthetic). I can't even explain how much I loved everything about this game.
