You and me both man, I'm on my second play through, now I am not killing anybody. Melee takedowns all the way. :D

Not sure what everyone has against invisible war. I thought it was fun and engaging. I played it through twice actually.

If I had never played the original, I would have thought it was a fine game. It just didn't feel like Deus Ex.

Ditto. While it wasn't nearly (understatement) as good as the original, I still enjoyed it immensely. I especially liked the music, as it was much more polished IMHO.

The original was just so mind blowing. It was a bonus for purchasing a Radeon DDR card when I finally jettisoned my VooDoo2 and since it was free, I figured I'd play it. I just remember being blown away by the original on so many levels.

Do you guys recommend I play the original GOTY before this one? I have it with modded textures but not sure yet.

Storywise, I don't think you need to play the original before HR, but I would. Going from HR to DX1 would be visually jarring, methinks.

Were it me, I'd play the original first.

I started playing this game again from start. I was somewhere halfway when I change laptops and can't seem to find a way to transfer my old saved games to the m17x..

In anyways, I'm playing it at max gfx settings, I also maxed my NVidia control panel.. I noticed more now how good the physics of the characts in HR, like the dancing punk at the subway and everyone else. The game does have a "Thief" feel to it in a modern setting specially without any armor upgrade.

Many ways to play this game, ... w/c is nice.. I like the overall graphics of DXHR.. and story and gameplay too.

You might not be able to continue from where you left off if it's been a while since you last played and the game went through updates during that time. Otherwise, I'm not sure why you can't continue.

^ It's okay, I got in to Shanghai within half a day. This time every sub-quest is completed.

I was able to kill Barrett with just the 10 mm pistol and few arounds of the combat rifle without any armor aug. this time, ..I've been hacking alot :). The pistol was upgraded though.

I say BF3 graphics quality is the same almost as with DXHR. I'm getting more familiar with the map too and overall gameplay. The 680M is OC'ed to 893 / 2407 when playing HR.

DXHR is a quality game. Though it's for AMD, my GPU is very cool, at 68*C max , cpu at 78*C.

Though Dues ex's story is very good and its overall presentation, ..it's still not as "gripping" or grippingly-very good as the Thief series/franchise. The cutscenes alone in Thief is just one of them..

David Sarif: Jensen, I have a dangerous job for you, you think you can do it?

Adam Jensen: No problem boss, as long as it has an "Air Duct" ... :p

Just a comparison, they're both Eidos anyways. A decade apart. In the spirit of stealth play..

Have you tried the enb series for Human Revolution it will hit your gpu frame rates but the game does look so much more beautiful. I really need to go back and play this game again such a terrific amazing game with all the conspiracy stuff, and just the story itself and the way things are going with humanity right now and technology it's all very interesting and very chilling and have you seen the trailer for the fan made film that is coming out i don't know when but it does look very good.

Yes just about every time it makes the game look more better but with some things you really need the horsepower to utilize them.

Thief is a very different type of game. There's no direct assault option in Thief.

I was actually disappointing by how graphically bad DEHR looked. Of course I can't judge it fully while playing on lower than high settings, but there were games which looked better on low settings than DEHR. And secondary characters looked very awful as well. They even looked better in HL2...

I have to agree. It has very flat textures and bland environment. I got fairly far in one play through, but have to start from the beginning.

I played through it on my PS3 when it first came out, but I didn't get a sense of how unimpressive it was graphically until running in on max settings on pc.
