i would never play bs because its a useless hero, but i will definiatly win mid with him vs most players.

but im also very confident to play against bs at mid with most heroes. even ranged hero with slow attack animation like shaman. just have to know how to be aggressive, and try to hit creeps so the bs has to make a decision on wether to deny or ck. always ck before deny against bs if you are ranged.

Yeah its not easy to mid against a good bs. Even with ranged and good attack animation and such as invoker. Even with my wex orbs and higher attack speed when he has quelling blade and shield its very tough. Especially good ones (good melee mids in general) who know how to control the lane by pulling and pushing it to adjust play. I don't think you've played against a good bs.

awful may have been too strong of a word, but I don't feel that BS is a great mid hero. he has good survivability, sure. But he doesn't have the lane control that other heroes have.

And a bs with wards has fantastic lane/gank potential. He can beat you to a rune (unless your a blinker perhaps, even so he can silence if the situation calls for) by using his ult or by having dd or a haste he can in a gank face by keeping an enemy in place and silencing whoever can escape/nuke.

ive never played against a good bs in my whole dota/hon play. because most of the actual good players dont pick such a useless hero.

So I got the game yesterday and the first Hero I tried was Venomancer. This game is 1000x better than LoL. Seriously, I had fun.

Hey guys, I am making a spreadsheet so it's easier to track the names of the NBR DOTA 2 beta players. I am missing a few Steam ID's from:
    Shobster
    Fedoras
    Kevmanw4301
    Andros_Forever
    Helios22
    bks1987

If any of you would like to be added to the list just add your name to the spreadsheet.

Also, Alias if you don't mind incorporating it into the OP for easier access, that would be awesome. :D

Add your name to the player list

    View Player List:
DOTA 2 Beta - NBR Player List

P.S. We can do some NBR only games if you all are interested in doing such, since there are more than two members that are in the Beta. :p

P.S.S. For the people that I added already, if something is wrong just fill out the form and I will delete the old one.(Unless it's the skill level one I will just add it for you) :)

Under the Join The Game section click on "Dota 2 Survey". It will launch the survey in the actual Steam Client not in your browser.

i sometimes wish we had a em mode for dota 2 as some of the games really drag out a lot like 1 hours plus. A short game mode for those that are constrained by time.

I just got into the beta for DOTA 2, but am a complete noob to this type of game as my buddy just introduced me to LoL. Do you guys reccomend any starter guides that cover the basics for the game and the interface? At the store part there is a donkey courier and I have no idea why he's there. Don't get me wrong, donkeys are great but this one doesn't talk.

dotafire.com is a good place to start reading guides.

Playdota.com has some good guides, not sure if there's any specific dota 2 guides though. The courier is to carry items from store to your hero so you don't have to walk back every time you need to shop.

Sorry for the bump. I created a DotA2 thread cuz I couldn't find one that currently existed and then the OP here redirected me to here.

Anyways, my steam ID is steadylurkin. Add me and let's play some games!

Currently, I like playing as OD. It's nice during team fights to have 3 stacks of the astral imprisonment buff and then ulti the hell outta the other team. Really shifts the game, especially late game.

Anyone play Spirit Breaker? I've kind of grown an interest in playing him after spectating some matches with him and going against some good SB players, but there were some guides I read that you'll lose more games with him than win.

Spirit breaker is pretty good and i have a good win % with him. Make sure you maximize the empowering haste (skill 2) in the beginning that will give you a huge advantage in last hitting as well as early fights (with 1 level of greater bash). But beware that when u play sb, the team expects you to initiate fights or gank coz a bassive sb is useless. :)

Is it true that if a game drags on for a super late game that his bash (or i've even read that SB himself) becomes quite a bit useless, of course depending on the itemization the opposing team has?

Only reason people say that SB becomes quite a bit useless in the late game is due to the fact that people tend to group together at that point and SB really relies on catching a single person off guard and killing said person ASAP before help can arrive.

In a teamfight, the bash helps a lot if it actually activates alot though ._. What's not to like in a mini-stun knockback that gives bonus damage?

SB's bash is never useless, at any point in the game. I put 1 lvl into it always, but max it out last since it's 18% chance on all levels. SB usually goes Bkb for late game anyways, hard to stop that if he's decently farmed and has decent backup.

SB is good, if people has lower win rate with SB that is because they charge sh*tless into battle as soon as they get spirit charge lvl 3.. you should first make some money/hp, don't die :) and then try to jump in between 5 people, if you reverse this order, you will lose :)

EDIT: SB's bash is EPIC, just get a good attack speed! he will bash people better than void in many cases if he gets the speed..

I think SB is excellent in team fights, especially the ability to take on to mages lightning quick, you can take out lina for example before she lets laguna away easily, but you must hide at the beginning of the fight

If the game drags on his bash becomes more significant especially if he has higher attack speed or items like mask of madness.

Like Baka mentioned, late game most player tend to bunch up and hence ganking a solo hero is no longer feasible with sb as he is a single targeting hero.

I'll probably try some SB play today with some bots.

I spent most of the day after work watching DotA2 tournament casts on youtube from the caster Purge. Man, tournament level games are INTENSE. Most team fights weren't so much one sided as they are in pub matches. I watched teams like Na'Vi, EG, Darer, and I forget the name of the other team. Even if The Dire team outleveled the The Radiant, The Radiant still came out on top with an ACE or forcing buybacks. Super good.

Just played a bots game with SB and man it was a good time. I had mid against Tiny and I was able to keep a nice cs since SB has a pretty strong hit to start with. I denied Tiny pretty well. Then once I got my treads (I heard tranquil may have been better for the +80 movement) and urn, I went top for a gank and then was able to go bot for a gank. Once the game progressed, I was able to pick up a fast bkb (for me it was fast...lol). Won most team fights, but then our omni went AFK and our warlock was just bad, so one of the players left and then everyone left just as I was about to get my aghanim's. I had a pretty good KDA, too, went like 10/1/5. lol

Anyways, what do you guys think of the hero released this week, Brewmaster? I tried to play a bot game with him (didn't last long cuz of leavers), and he seemed fun. Seems like his ulti would require a lot of micro, though.

Brewmaster is a great tank hero with a decent dps output. Tank him up, get people to focus you in battles leaving your higher dps/ranges out of harm and when you are near death *PAF* you go out of harms way and have 3 units and extra stuns/disables available. Really great way to turn battle tides in your team's favor.
