I love Dota 2 though need to get myself in a group of regulars to play with.
I'm still a bit new and need to learn a few things. Pub games rarely go into late game stages it's either your with a crap team or a great team.

WOOP!
Just went 6-0 today with SB! Well if you count the one bot game I won, I went 7-0 =). Anyways, 5 of those games were with my buddy who I laned with and he played Dazzle. He was pretty OP with Dazzle's heals + shallow grave. Saved me multiple times. Charging in like a mad man was pretty sweet and his ulti was a pretty fun way of saying, "nah uh uh..where do you think you're going Lycan?" Then when his cousin joined the party we went Death Prophet/Dazzle/SB and Death Prophet's ulti is pretty damn OP with a good group. Haha. My bash and ulti to stun, dazzle's Q to slow them, and then proph's ulti to eat them alive. Good times were definitely had. The last game, we were winning so hard that the other team at the end was like, "you guys had a riki????" -
I went 20-0-25 as Mirana today, really lucky as when I usually play with friends, I lose plenty, probably cause of ELO. But playing by myself, yay.

Huge update today!!
Sweet new HUD // UI with new icons for skills and items.
Also, it may just be me, but all the graphics seemed to get a nice upgrade too. Everything looks more sharp and crisp.

Sadly any time I get some ridiculous score like that, the other team is pretty terrible. I went 20-0 with NS once. It was just sad.
Although I've been having fun doing stupid troll builds that actually aren't that bad. You need to farm a bit though. Funnest recent memory was my Sven with a shadow blade/daedlus/divine rapier/MoM/BkB/boots.
Crits + divine rapier + gods strength + MoM = lols all around. It was just hilarious to see them die before they could even get out of stun. I think I was critting like 2.5k by the end. Not as much as mortred or SK can obviously but still funny nonetheless.
I tried refresher orb on lich and then found out I didn't have mana to cast it all at once D:.
Make sure you get a scepter first! -
Oh yes, the new update to the GUI was today, everything was pleasant looking and easier to find imo. In addition, I had some guidance when I played that Mirana game. Didn't know crit = daedalus.

You need to have thick skin while playing online. I think I'm approaching or past my 250 game point right now. Make buddies and play with them. Sometimes pubs are just torture if you manage to do everything right but your team can't.
-
Baka has only played 10 or 11 games ._. Baka does not like the built in delay in commands
-
-
-
Baka feels like there's like a half second delay in all of Baka's commands
Friends say it's built in to match the old DotA's game pace ._.
-
The new UI does look pretty sweet. One of the things I liked was how you could see which hero on your team the donkey/chicken was flying to.
Out of all the heroes, was Lion the only one to get a makeover? He looks like he's had one too many burritos now.
And yeah, I have to agree about having the thick skin when playing online. I originally stumbled onto DotA when playing WC3. Watched a few videos of it and it looked fun. Then when I got into a game, I got bashed hard. Made me want to go in the corner and cry. Haha. Never opened up DotA ever again. But now, I could really care less, especially when trying to learn new heros vs. bots.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I took a break from SB to try some warlock play and it was pretty fun playing a support role. Buying wards and the couriers. Purchasing a true sight gem when needed and smoke. It was good times. That's not to say I got in my fair share of kills though. Fatal Bonds is such a great harass when laning and even during team fights. Aghanim's + ulti = a good time for sure. -
I was playing the other day and I used guinsoo,s scythe on a target
When he was poly morphed it was soo difficult to target him because
He was small and the clicking area was reduced (hit box)
are they gonna change that? -

Baka played and lost a normal AI game with Hime.
Baka is absolutely hating the extreme amounts of lag and disconnect Baka got from USW server. It wasn't like this before
Baka disconnected about 24 times in that whole game. One crash.
Also, Hime needs coaching. -
The skills are slower to execute for some heroes in DOTA2 so I'm adjusting to it. It's like 1 sec slower especially Pandaren's Thunderclap.
-
Maybe I'm just used to dota (been playing since 2004), but nothing seems too laggy to me

My friend noticed that they don't tell you if you got the event for DotA2 cause he just has the game download when I told him to check.

Baka needs to teach more the secret skills of Dota 2..

Finally got settled in my new apartment today and my new netgear wndr3700 router should be at my front door waiting to be set up (had everything set up, just not the wireless).
Gonna get that set up and hopefully get in a few games. I've been itching to get better and own with Tiny. Last Friday or whenever it was, I had 2 good games with him. Did everything well and had a proper build. The next morning, for some reason, I wasn't thinking right.....at all....for example, venomancer and I were laning against Ursa. We went in for the kill, got him to like 10% health, venomancer died, and I decided to back it instead of finishing him off (O_O). Needless to say, I got the harsh bashing the rest of the game. -
Tiny is so scary. :[
Yeah, I don't think you should have backed. >_< -
Ursa is so ridiculously overpowered its sad. He needs a major nerf.
I've been really enjoying the support heroes lately. Mostly Witch Doctor and Warlock. Love me some warlock! -
I shouldn't have backed at all. I have no idea what I was thinking that game. Everything that I could've done wrong, I did (O_O)
-
-
.
-
Tiny is alot of fun...partly because he isn't really that item-hungry. I usually get a null, magic stick, soul ring (in whichever order is most fitting), then boots, then blink, then finish boots, then dagon upgrade, then heart. It's pretty failsafe.
Also, you should try quad infernals with warlock -
Ursa is not that OP. It so happens that many heroes are not present yet. When Mortred arrives, prepare! But for me, Specter is the best.
-
-
-
Even then in 1v1, it'd be really tough to take down the 4 infernals + the warlock himself.
In late game team fights, I can picture OD being a good counter to 4 infernals since his orb gains extra damage against summoned minions. But only if his team is able to handle the opposing team to keep them distracted while OD takes the infernals down. -
If a game drags that long, hypercarries, especially void, will have time to kill 8 infernals lol and still be full hp because of lifesteal/bkb/ult.

Does Black King Bar stop effects from magical attacks? I swear today right before I went into attacking 4 enemies, I activated Black King Bar, I saw the swirling yellow around my character (Sven), activated my ultimate and Q attacks and I was almost instantly stunned. I was attacking a Bane, Tidehunter, Vengeful Spirit, and Earthshaker. Was that just a fluke?

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Hrm I don't think Bane used his ultimate, at least I don't recall seeing any purple aura. I mean then what's the point of BKB if you can still get stunned? Sven needs to be free for his ultimate to really work..

Glad to hear it will be Free to Play without being Pay to Win.
Never played any game remotely resembling this before, so I have no idea what to expect. A lot of people seem to like it so I look forward to trying it. -
They added a DotA 2 store but it's all cosmetic and costs a truckload of money ._.
And chances are Vengeful used her stun on you and it was mid-air when Hime activated BKB so it hits and stuns but does no damage ._. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Well again, what is the point of BKB if effects like stun still pass through? The damage I could care less about, with Heart of Tarrasque, you'll have so much HP, it won't matter. Stun moves are killer especially against multiple enemies using their ultimate at once.
-
There are some exceptions for BKB like Fiend's grip and Overgrowth. Try searching for the exceptions on the net. I don't memorize all of it since I don't use BKB much.
-
Yes, what Bkb doesn't block, usually Linken's does. Bkb does not block Fiend's grip, Rexxar's ult... it doesn't blow overgrowth but can cancel it if you use BKB while caught up in the vines. Linken's blocks Fiend's and Rexxar's ult completely but there is the chance that another spell will be used before that leaving you vulnerable.
There is a balance in not having a one stop BLOCK ALL MAGIC for 9 seconds for dps heroes. They are still vulnerable and counterable and that's what Dota is all about. -
I feel like I've gotten a ton more comfortable with the game to the point where I'm trying to play different heroes. The past few weeks, I've gotten to learn how to play Akasha, Stone Giant, and more recently Vol'Jin. I really wanna learn how to play Leviathan. Seems like a good time.
-
So what's with the amount of Zeus players now a days.. Always a Zeus on a team no matter what, care to explain? And no one can play him well either.. oh dear god -.-'
-
I've been playing Io (guardian wisp) non stop since yesterday, won 9 out of 10 games with him in random pubs.
Love his gameplay mechanic, really well thought out. Bottle, Boots of Calm, then usually Soul Ring, Janggo and Halberd/Skadi for me.
I went dps last game after 2 people left.
Was me and Huskar and Lanaya. Would usually hook onto Huskar for the overcharge making us a very deadly combo. Love taking out stray players with his ult -
-
Guardian Wisp and Lanaya are in DotA 2 already? ._.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
In fact the reason I don't play DotA 2 often is because of the community and how almost everyone in DotA 2 is a jerkoff. DotA 2 makes SC 2 sound like you can actually be welcomed into SC 2 as a complete newbie.
Also if you don't play DotA 2 for a while, your skills will get rusty. It is one of those games you have to keep playing to maintain your skill. -
._.
Baka plays only one game a day with Hime and that's a private bot game with just us ._.
Baka does not trust random people -
I'd have to agree that if you're just starting off DotA, play bots. Pick a hero or two and learn them playing bots. Then go into pub games. I didn't play the original DotA because I got chewed out hard in one game. Haha. Now, I don't mind them as much.
As for me, I've gotten comfortable with the game to the point that I don't really bother with bots anymore. Now before I even try to learn how to play a new hero, I'll look up builds/item builds on dotafire and I'll watch youtube videos just to get a feel of how the hero works. Then once I feel like I've got an understandign of what to do with the hero, I go play in a game.
