I have been using the vanilla nVidia 185.85 loving them to death and now DOX comes out with a heavily modified and wicked performing version. These are probably the best drivers he has made yet with actual, measurable performance gains in REAL games and the utmost stability.
If you have XP please stop living in the stone age. You won't get any DOX drivers on that old relic of an operating system.
Also if you have hybrid gpu or hybrid sli this driver fully supports them!
GO GET EM!!!

EDIT:
Ok, so DOX said himself that he doesn't make these driver to get synthetic benchmark results so if you see a loss in your 3dmark scores that *DOES NOT* mean you are getting less performance in games than your last driver. These drivers are optimized for *PLAYING GAMES* not watching some program that gives you a bunch of numbers every scrutinizes over 20 or 30 points! Play your games with this driver and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I just had a couple rounds of Call of Duty World at War co-op with a friend and the drivers played very nicely. I ran a benchmark on Far Cry 2 and I gained an fps over the vanilla 185.85.
I personally did not like any of DOX's drivers after 182.05, but this one is a keeper for me! DOX himself said the drivers between 182.05 and 185.85 didn't have the full optimizations and they were experimental so I suggest going to these drivers and not looking back.
Yes this driver is only for Vista / Windows 7 DOX dropped XP support as he said he could not do any more with the drivers and he didn't enjoy modding them anymore.
The other thread about 185.85 are about the vanilla drivers not the DOX drivers and the thread is by *ME*. This is not a duplicate thread, but thanks for trying I guess?
Hope you guys like these drivers because so far they are great. I am going out now, but I will play some more games tonight and then report back about how the drivers are doing. So far so good though.
Happy gaming!

gunna install now.

w00t w00t
Even better than 185.68????
I won't believe that until I try em
Kudos for the link (+ rep)
-
Liking the new installer, but I'm too happy with the latest Nvidia Notebook drivers to switch over.
+Rep -
Next time scroll down a bit. There already is a thread about this driver.
-
-
is the nvCPL working well??
-
Thanks
I think i'm going to wait for some feedback from other users too before I switch, Dox 185.68, which i'm currently using, have been really good for me -
Just installed 'em and ran 3Dmark 06
A difference of about 20 points less with this than with DoX's 185.86 drivers which I was using previously
GPU Idle temp 1-2 degrees higher
haven't tried any games yet, may do in a while -
These are for Windows 7 only correct? I am using Dox 185.68, there the best so far!!
-
Vista and Windows 7 I believe
-
^^^^^^^^^^
Yep those are the two options given when installing them
Don't think this release supports XP -
Someone please let me know if they preform better than the 185.68 Dox. +rep to whoever..
-
GTA IV gained about 5 FPS over 185.68, and Dawn of War 2, around 2FPS. 3dm06 went down by around 70 points tho, but i'd rather the games ran better than 3dm!

EDIT: I edited my OP with this so people would see it first -
There was one conflicting setting in the drivers which limited their potential.
Ofc I did not know this until more testing of my own - hey I do not work for nvidia so how was I suppose to know?
No more XP release since it bores me to do them and all that can be done is done with them.
Hybrid support is in this release but maybe iffy not because its modded wrong, its just nvidia's code is not 100% yet. -
HI all... I am newbie here...
i hav read the guide at here http://laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24004
but i couldnt understand 100%...
How do i uninstall my graphic card driver???
and i do hav Nvidia system tools wif me which included nvidia performance, nvidia system monitor, nvidia system update, and so on....
shud i unistall all of dem???
and after i uninstall dem will my laptop couldnt run or caused system failure?? -
185.68 were alright, 182.46 were better. When 185.85 came out, I was a bit let down at first but performance began to show and they turned out as good if not better than 182.46. Now with these, they just seem a tiny bit faster than the official versions, but I've had some instability at otherwise stable clocks. I'll give them some more time, since I know they should be faster...
DMC4 was up 1 to a few frames all around which in my opinion gives the best idea of GPU performance. FC2 was just a bit faster as well. Crysis DX9 and DX10 was identical to official 185.85. 3dmark06 is sketchy, and you can't just run it once. I've gone up 300 points just by running it again, lol. -
-
Ok I installed the new ones and indeed frame rates increased. Only problem is my temps went up 6 degrees. I will continue to use them and monitor temps. Thanks for posting the new Dox drivers..
-
As long as your computer isn't artifacting or crashing what does the temp matter? Just play your games and be happy!
-
can we see some real world gaming numbers with these drivers?
-
Cool...once i got 185.85 to work flawlessly, now i gotta do the clean installation again. Ah well, will try these and see if they improve my CRYSIS WARHEAD FPS as well as my Aion online frames per second rate.

Sometimes I hit 45-50 fps (For some seconds), sometimes I go down to 10 fps. But around 27 -30 FPS I think it may is. It depends where in LC I drive
At airport I get 35-40 stable, I have also seen 50 at airport but it never goes down 30 -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Did you try playing in Algonquin or Alderney? Also, turn up the traffic density to atleast 10. Playing at one takes the fun away from GTA IV.
-
Does this driver support Sony?
-
-.-, just download it and try it out. It should work just fine with your 8400M ( i hate that graphic card to DEATH).
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
If you mean your 8400M GT, then yes.
-
Nop......not worth it......from the 185.68, there is only a marginal difference a couple of frames may be but thats it, besides fallout 3 seems not to take to this one, it did take to the 185.68. besides, like someone said the official nvidia drivers are too gud to switch from.

-
lol i know it supports my card its just that on another release thread there was something saying "no sony support" but ok ill try it out if thats the case

or it jz optimised(no overclock) the graphic card to perform better??
I heard it wil enable powermizer... i hope i could disable it LOL...
I wan to use EVGA T.T! -
Did someone try this with SXPS13? I tried 185.68 but i could not shut down my laptop completely. It would freeze at the shutting down icon. So i let it shutting down for the whole night and it was still shutting down. T.T Hope no problem with this.
