You're doing something wrong. Uninstalling in safe mode and then immediately running driver sweeper afterwards should clean residual Nvidia files. After you boot back into normal mode, it should be detected as a "Standard VGA Device" instead of an Nvidia GPU.
-
GF 9500MGS being install =.=...
I tried uninstall my graphic driver on normal mode... den restart to safemode and use the driver sweeper...
den restart to normal again... the result same..
it auto detect nvidia GPU....and install it itself...
maybe this is caused by OEM(build-in windows vista x86)??? -
Are you choosing Nvidia display drivers in Driver Sweeper?
-
LOL!
yea i choose it i folo all those instruction and steps...
but my laptop keep on auto detect 9500MGS after reboot and begin to auto install it back... i cant stop it T.T!
I cant confirm issit VGA or NVIDIA but i can c NVIDIA GEFORCE 9500MGS IS SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED on the right bottom corner notification... -
Hrm...sounds like your OEM may have planted some driver files in a place Driver Sweeper doesn't look when they installed your OS.
-
how can be like this T.T!
i wan dox oso cannot T.T!
but i hav tried to install DOX n got no problems wif it... i tried some games can be play and no crash....
yet i guess it is not original DOX??? since my laptop alrdy install 9500MGS driver b4 the dox driver get installed.... -
It's what's called a "dirty install". You've got the DOX driver installed, but there may be an old file or two still in there. Basically, you might not get ALL the performance boost.
-
2: do not reboot
3: use have disk method
4: dox driver files store the installer & install files on the desktop
5: when looking for driver, click disk then search the desktop folder for your inf
6: now the tricky part.... if you don't get a red highlighted box saying it's updating your video card...then you may need to delete just the inf file from the c:\windows\inf directory....(you would search in side all files and it will come back with a few oem.inf files...just open each one till you see the one hat says dox in it. delete it and that's it.) hopefully you will see the red highlighted box...
7: once it's done...reboot and hopefully...all will be well.. -
For those of you lamenting the loss of 20-70 3dmark06 points...
Anything under 100 points is "margin-for-error" as far as I can tell and can be reproduced by anyone with multiple runs of 3dmark06 anyway.
I look forward to trying these new ones DOX, as always. -
the points are just for scoring purposes...don't worry to much about it...be more concerned with how many fps you have instead... since that's what the games are based off of....
-
but i dunno wat r u talking about=.=...
maybe my poor english??? or ur explanation is not clear???
somehow i feel tat it is damn hard...
USE HAVE DISK METHOD dunno wat is tat =.=
the windows reboot wil hav auto installed back 9500MGS without asking me oso damn pro 1=.=... -
At they end of the day they are just numbers lol
Bragging rights only -
You are saying that "drivers for 9500M GS sucessfully installed", comes written after un-installing and re-booting right???
So download GPU-Z, and do the same thing you did before, after that message comes (saying they have been installed), open up GPU-Z and look at the field where it says: Driver Version
It might be that the message is just appearing when standard VGA drivers are installed.
Not too sure, maybe I'm wrong, but give it a try anyway.
It'll tell us what's being installed anyway -
DarkSilver from what I have read your operating system is just installed the standard VGA driver. If you un-install the nvidia display drivers and restart after your standard drivers install can you go into the nvida control panel or is it not there anymore? If it is not there then you are experiencing what every other windows user *EVER* experiences which is just the standard VGA driver installation which is nothing to even bat an eye at. Install your new drivers and you'll be fine.
-
what johnksss is correct... it had to deal wif .inf thingy but i m noob at it...
i jz do some research and get to know it is caused by OEM and .inf thingy...
this caused my laptop to auto reinstall my graphic card 9500MGS...
actually it did detect VGA controller from the very 1st place but it canceled off VGA controller installation and start change to 9500MGS installation after a few seconds due to the OEM and .inf files...
i tried it many times the result is the same =.=.... unless i hav a new solution for it... -
-
anothergeek hows the GTX 280m?
-
hmmmm... no ppl going to teach me d??
den i think i shud stay wif original forceware 185.85....
y dont nvidia demself make sometime awesome like dox did =.=??? -
humm...
right click on your card and click update
update your card with standard vga driver.
once done, then reboot.
then try installing new driver by running install program.... -
Go in to device manager (right click my computer, hit properties, click device manager.
Select display adapter, right click, properties, uninstall. There sould be a box that says delete driver software for this device. Check that box, then continue uninstall.
Boot to safe mode, run driver sweeper. Reboot.
Install Dox drivers if you don't get the message you were getting. -
it is useless.... =.=...
johnkss mind tell in detail??? -
Both vanilla and Dox versions run way too hot for me. I'm talking 8° higher than my normal peak temps under load, which is already around 80°.
-
-
Even Warhead on CCC 4+ (very high) runs fluently natively res. Games like L4D and COD run 60 FPS with 4xAA. Clear sky runs DX10 maxed out making the 30 FPS grade with no problem. Even GTA4 on my dual core runs fine, with all the textures etc on high/very high, although I have to ratchet down the view distance until I get a quad.
-
-
I just had a game of Left 4 Dead and wanted to see my temps as you guys have been talking about them being very high with this DOX set and I hit 106C! Before my max was 93C thats just a tad bit hotter isn't it?
-
CPU heated up + GPU heated up = OMG!
and den DOX make it worst =.=... -
So, after a few days and 8 pages what's the overall feeling with the dox 185.85. Does it perform better than the standard 185.85 drivers, is it cooler, are there any glitches/bugs, does sli work better in either?
-
-
I wanted to see if it was the DOX drivers or just the set that is getting me these insane temps so I uninstalled the DOX and put the vanilla back on and both drivers sets gave me identical temperatures. Oh and by the way this is *WITHOUT* my overclock so I am talking stock voltages and clocks here!
L4D: 106C (Holy crap this is just 4C from my thermal throttle temperature!!!!!)
Call of Duty World at War: 103C
Holy freakin' smokes this driver set is HOT HOT HOT!!!
However I can play without artifacts or crashing so.... -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Regardless of whether you observe artifacts or not, those temps are way too high. Even with the driver you used prior to this release, 93*C is raising flags.
-
My temps seem just fine with theses drivers. Maybe even 1C cooler then the regular Nvidia ones. Got 65C after playing L4D for an hour and the CPU was at had a max of 48C.
-
My computer is clean and the fan seems to work good enough so I don't know what else I can do apart from taking the whole damned thing apart and putting on new thermal paste, but I don't want to and also I don't think I could do that until I get home in about a month. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Undervolt or underclock your card until you can open her up and replace the thermal paste.
-
Well its not crashing or artifacting so I don't think I'm going to do anything.
My reasoning is I didn't buy a $2100 laptop to underclock anything and I have a free 2 year warranty so the way I see it is if something is going to go then let it go so I can get it fixed! -
I Can't understad this temp problems
My GPU is never above 80C, with overclock as showen at my signature.
-
I think these drivers just bend over some of our cards and heat them up like no ones business. Hopefully the next set won't be so damned hot!
-
. My max temps has always been 80C

Asus gives 1 year accidental and 2 years normal warranty for free with every laptop
One of the many reasons I went with them!
I appreciate your input though so thanks.
Also I had to back off my OC cause of the summer heat, but I have been using the A/C lately that I completely forgot I had so its no deadly hot in here anymore. These temperatures are freakin' me out. I am going to have to load on an old driver set maybe soon and see if its just the drivers or if something went bonkers in my laptop. -
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
May I ask, did you flash your GS with a GTS BIOS, or did you flash your GS to GTS clocks?
-
. I think I must apply/change termal paste before I travel to Turkey
ASUS service/warranty is the best one I have so far seen. Don't think there is anything better out there yet. They picked up my laptop from my door, repaired it and delivred it to my door again. For zero money! -
tuηay: I am headed to Turkey on the 29th! What are you doing there? I am just going to tour around a bit and hop over to Greece for a week or two.
Soviet Sunrise: I edited my bios to have the same voltage and clocks as the GTS, but its not on right now I am back to GS because its so hot here (Israel) and I am going to wait until I get back home to Canada to buy a laptop cooler. -
I live someplase between Izmir and Antalya. Both is a bit far away so I'm in middle of those two citys
I usually don't play much games when I'm there, mostly hanging out with friends ect. But ofcoruse I will play games sometimes. And when the rom temprature is (maybe) 25-30 (Out side between 34-37 sometimes) and I just sit there and play GTA IV with overclock ohhh. -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
These drivers drives the temperature of my laptop real hot!!
-
Actually this DOX optimized thingy did raise temperature...
I installed it(not very complete or success since my laptop OEM problems)
my graphic card tends to raise 3-5C (original 70C max temp)
I havent try overclock on DOX forceware... and i dun dare try on it... LOL
I use the official forceware and overclock it...
and i get 3-5C increased only... -
I'm also experiencing very hot temps with the official 185.85 now. I just ran Demigod for about an hour an maxed out at 90C on 1 card, and 70C on the 2nd card (this 20 degree variation is still bothering me...). This was with the fan off.
After I noticed these scorching temps I turned my fan on nothing went above 70C. Do most people have to turn their fans on max when gaming? -
Just played WaW for ~2 hours and didn't budge past 68C lol
You guys are nuts... -
i think each computer has a different reaction to drivers.
Dox - 185.85 - Out
