I gonna roll back to the original 185.85. This thing has stopped my card from OCing and showing totally wrong clock values. At least I could OC with the orig drivers, so that i gain much more fps than Dox drivers :D

Which is better for a 9800m GS - dox 182.05 or dox 185.85 or official 185.85?

I do care much about temp because it is too hot in my country.

    thanks

The 185.85 get better performance than the 182.05 and seem to be more stable, but for me it has raised my max temperatures about 13C!!! The vanilla does the same thing so its not just the DOX version.

I've started using them too over the nvidia 185.85s and they seem to be working fine havent noticed a temp increase of any kind yet (admitted I havent tested using crysis or anything super intensive yet) and they fixed the issue I was having with kalonline textures appearing all blurry so overall pretty pleased ^^.

These raised my temps by about 6C as well... I rolled back to the official NVidia 185.85 which is also hotter than the stock drivers by about 5C

The only changes in it are for hybrid users and GT120m users so for us it won't make a difference getting the final build.

These drivers caused artifacting in Bioshock for me, but the prior versions have been fine.

Still, those temperatures are enough to cook steaks on. It makes me cringe knowing that there is someone forcing their pride and joy up to those temperatures so casually.

No hard feelings, Exostenza, but I really think you should pull back on the overclock, even just a wee bit. I know that you are covered by Asus's fine warranty, but a machine deserves the love, respect, and maintenance that living beings receive too.

Tunay I quote from your sig: "9800M GTX 1GB DDR3 Overclocked To: 585/940/1450

I know, but I never said anything against overclocking, and my temps are weird like yours, they don't change if I overclock!
I respect my machine because it cost so much bloody money haha :D

lol, yeah maybe that is why I also do it :D Anyway, I had plans to edit voltage to higher but, 9800M GTX users say that the temps incraste by 5-10. If I do it then my temps will also maybe be around 100 C  :D

    Respect

100 degrees is definitely WAHAY to high for any laptop to be running at, but if the performance is noteable, I have to say I don't think I would hold back! :D
Knowing my luck I'd probably blow the thing up...
    Peace

tuηay. Your 9800M GTX should be rock stable at 600/1500/900 @ 1v. But if you wish to stay at your current clocks, try upping the shader clocks to 1463MHz to stay in proportion to your core clocks.

I jump out of the windows if my lappy blows up
But, yes 84C is enough for me :)

    Thanks, try it now

EDIT: 600/1500/900 Downclocked at the end of first grapich test! :( I didin't stop the test, but in the middle of second test I got IDriect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock failed: n/a (unknown) error

    try it with 585/940/1463 now

Okay. Then that means that the voltage would need to be raised at those clocks.

You can remain at 585/1463/950. Though you can still lower your memory to 920Mhz or 900Mhz. Having a slow core and a fast memory isn't going to help much in performance for the amount of heat produced by the memory.

Max temp was 79C and lowest was 47C avg. 59.4C
84C is usually under GTA IV

I'd like to ask one thing: I'm using Dox 185.85 (GTX 260M) and I think Powermizer is enabled by default, right?

I always use this laptop on power conected, rarely on battery (I used today, but it's very rare, just to recharge the battery and put it to 40% again). Is Powermizer enabled with this driver when conected directly on power, or any kind of Powermize bug related?

I couldn't see it because I didn't install any games yet (and as I will go on vacation for about a month I will not be able to use the laptop).

    Thanks!

Open GPU-Z and go to the Sensors tab. If the clocks are low, then Powermizer is enabled.
