I would say that's both linear and open world. Each zone is open but limited in the sense of they're not connected. You zone from area to another using your map. But these zones are pretty massive and at times they're so big that it feels like it goes on forever...like a desert area in the game. But I think that was intentional. I'm not saying it doesn't have reply value in general, I think it does; especially with the Dragon Age Keep. With the Keep you can shape each play through by changing the previous games. But for me, I try to get everything done in 1 play though and I quit. The only game that kept my attention beyond the main game itself are Elder Scrolls games but that was because of the mods.
I can't say I agree with the "repetition" crowd because all games are repetitive. Its their nature. There is no such thing as a truly dynamic video game, it just doesn't exist. The game is great based on the parameters the developer has put in it. Single player is excellent and long, I managed to squeeze in 85 hours in this play through and completed everything outside of 100% complete itemization. The MP is boring and dull. I found it to be not very fun at all....but this is DA, its a single player game.

I had been wanting this game for a while, but I have a couple questions before making the leap.
1) I have read a lot about poor PC optimization... My specs are in my signature. Hopefully I would be able to run this on high settings, right? If not... :O
2) I also read about bugginess/issues rendering the PC version almost unplayable... is that still true?
Thanks -

It allows the UI to be displayed in all of its 4K glory (which is great because text is one area that the higher resolution excels in smoothing out) while running the actual 3D content at 1080p. That's what I mean. I am not complaining about interpolation, which I still maintain is not very noticeable at the 15.6" screen size for 3D content. Rather, it is 2D content which suffers more from running at sub-native resolutions, which is why this in-game scaler thing is so useful.

I'm about 100 hours in with a double daggered rouge at level 20. I'm trying to complete every quest and task before moving on and it's beginning to prove tedious. But I suppose the margin of "formulaic gameplay" is wide enough to be enjoyable. I just wish there was a way to gain more influence for perks faster and more experience so I could level up quicker. I've slain 3 dragons so far. Planning to level up more before doing the other ones.
Added note, I'm getting 40+ FPS on all medium settings with SSAO and 2x MSAA.Last edited: Feb 9, 2015 -

Based on the artwork...
It looks like Solas is part of this? Which means one of two things - this is post ending and you meet up with him again or this is before the ending.
If it's before the ending, I'm a little annoyed. I hate DLC that is supposed to take place in the middle of the game, to me; that's merely a cash grab. However if its post ending, I'm pretty excited. -

oh great, i tried to run the game on my new 980M but it refuses to go into fullscreen mode
*sad trombone* -

Might see if I can run in dedicated mode with my 980M.
EDIT: I can definitely switch to dedicated mode though since i didn't mod the nv_dispi.inf before installing the pc didn't see it as a card so it looks like i'm gonna have to include 2 files when modding.Last edited: Jun 5, 2015 -
finally got my AW17 to run the 980M in dedicated mode and now i can go full screen in the game

Finally started playing this yesterday. I ran into an annoying thing: Ambient NPC chatter will close my loot window. This is very annoying in a camp with lots of NPCs and lots of crates and stuff as I often have to open them multiple times because they just auto-close as soon as someone nearby opens their mouth.
I couldn´t find anything about this, anyone? The only thing I can think of is to try and turn of subtitles, but I like those.
