Cool, it would be great to get together a NBR team of players. It's just so hard to organize with different times on the computer (and awake)
But if you guys see me on steam hit me up for some SC2 or Dungeon Defenders.

It's finally out? I have been waiting for this game for over a year...I understand pushing it back, but when they release the iOS version almost a year ago, it feels like they're just trying to cash in. I guess I don't blame them, especially if what you say about the xbox version is true.
Anyway, I'll probably pick this up as well. Looks like a great team game to me. Also, if you guys like this style of game, you might want to check out Orcs Must Die! It's the same kind of thing, basically. Traps, mazing, 3rd person shooter. Fun times -
If you guys want to play some DD, feel free to add me on steam, I'm c4sc4 on steam too. I played a match with some randoms last night, it was fun but there wasn't much communication going on, it would be nice to play with people who will communicate.
EDIT: http://steamcommunity.com/id/c4sc4 -
Hit me up when you guys are up for a game in DD.

Add me if you haven't. Cheers -

I should have been in bed 5 hours ago. Game is too addicting. Esp if you find a good party and all are using voice.

So, I'm a bit disappointed in the game. Squire and Mage towers are totally overpowered, but good for them I guess. Huntresses and Monks totally suck, at least in the beginning. They have lame traps and my huntress(lvl 18) seriously has no damage, especially compared to the squire and mage. Monk's ranged attack just sucks because you can't auto attack....fingers get really tired after a while. There's a lot they need to change! The game is fun, but I was let down a tad.

Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave now available on Android Market.
Redesigned UI and even smoother on my Galaxy S 2.
Still F2P too and should be cross platform multiplayer with PC, iOS and PSN.
(Dont think Xbox Live works.) -

Pretty sure my Huntress traps do more dps than any other tower in the game with my spec and skill.
Its pretty much intant kill to all mobs in a big aoe radius about 6K dmg. Gas traps will hold all mobs in place for a super long time, and they cant even attack! Only weak to ogers, poison element enemies, and bosses.
I can hold just about any choke with 6 tower points. One gas trap, one explosive trap and just a couple of mobs here and there will actually get through.
Its best to not depend on traps 100% though, I like to put them infront of a barrier. I pumped extra charges fast and hard I have max (70 points) in that skill because the worst part of traps for me was simply having them run out too easy especially if they are far apart. A good team will keep them repaired though. So my gameplay now is much less combat and more support. I go invisible and run into the mobs and upgrade/repair the traps and pick off key enemies like necromancers or healers. -
This game is loads of fun when you play with a good group. I've even been in some decent public games. I was so happy last game when the other random players were actually healing my traps.
The one thing that bugs me about the community for some reason is that people like to call their characters 'toons'. I really hate that, I don't really know why. -

New Players I think should be newbs. Though it's pronounced the same, but spelled differentlyBut to me means very different things

Apparently in survival mode, if you make it through a bunch of waves you can get special rewards like pets. I tried solo survival mode on easy on The Deeper Wells but I only made it to wave 11 before getting over run. Anyone else try survival mode yet?
-
I just bought DD so anyone hit me up anytime, mic recently broke so I will be getting a new one within the next month.

So, I was just wondering if this is the case with other people. When playing alone do you use multiple characters to place defenses and fight? I currently have 5 characters. My mage (or wizard, w/e it is called) I use to place down aggressive defenses, I have a fighting squire and another squire (that I have yet to level up and use) that makes barricades with a lot of health. Monk and huntress I have not had a chance to play yet. -

Im a lvl 70 Huntress that does 12K DPS auto attack that pierces mobs & im full trap spec so I have about 28 charges on traps and they do about 5K dmg in a wide aoe per detonation
Going to start to work on other characters soon but right now want to beat some of the insane challenges, you get super great rewards.
Im having a hard time with servers though, hard to join some games, random lag/dc. Also when I host people say they lag in my game and I am usually uber host with my fiber optic internet.
The other thing I am having issues with is just some of the community. I get some good groups here and there but usually run into some of the same people.
One guy swears I am a ninja looter and kicks me from the game, even after I saw his alt come grab loot right infront of me. Another game I was carring the team and there was a person using a Huntress and only had 8 charge traps and much less dps, went around selling all my traps and I was like WTH are you doing? He said they dont need my ****ty traps they need to build defenses. So I went to the choke he was holding and sold his 2 8 charge traps and he kicks me from the game.
I have to say so far bad luck for me with ignorant, dumb, and rude people playing.
Need more of my friends to lvl up and get good at the game -

I also had a bunch of auras and traps being built way behind the defenses were there were no monsters. -
These are to be expected in pubs, every coop game with pub games has problems like these.
I mean, the only (detracting) way of resolving ganking / griefing in DD would be to 1) make every player have individual # trap limit, and 2) make loot drop individual instead of ffa. -
But if you think about it, jerg, those things make good groups even more fun. It is a trade-off...
-
I hate Blizzard for doing individual loot drops for Diablo III; everyone being able to see every drop (and being able to pick every drop depending on who's the fastest) in Diablo II made it that much more fun and open. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
I was hoping for individual loot at first, but now on harder map modes you cant get to the loot on the other side of the map and you dont want loot to be based on kills so I guess its for the best.
One problem though is on later maps and harder modes mobs drop a TON of stuff and there actually is an item limit and things will start to vanish from the map. When I see this happen I start to grab loot and I hope nobody gets PO'ed about it because I think its better that somebody gets it rather than nobody.
End of round everything vanishes and its auto sold and split, but if stuff vanishes during the combat phase that means the item spawn limit has been reached. The other thing is that all my good gear I use now I got when I was picking up loot this way. I used to try and look at the gear and see if it was better or worse but this was way too slow and again so much loot that you cant look at it all. Made much worse by the fact there is like a 2 second delay before you see item name and stats when you mouse over.
Made worse again by the fact that you can be looking at a Godly piece of equipment and the game shows a red box and thumbs down saying its worse than what you have just because a few predetermined stats are worse.
So honestly I am now to the point where if I host a game I tell everybody to loot the kills they get. Each person is holding a choke so if everybody is looting there choke the loot still is evenly split and whats better is now you can find good eqp and if you find something good for a team mate you should offer it to them.
What would be wrong is going to somebody elses choke and taking loot unless it is an item you need, leave the trash loot for them to sell.
I think as a whole my idea works better and I hope more people start to incorporate it because the chances of eveybody finding new gear are much higher and it keeps the game moving faster. Unlike hard mode where you can sift through gear at round end, Insane mode the counter starts on its own right away so there is no time to look at loot. Its grab now or never. -
Well in the next patch they increased the limit on the number of items that can be on the ground at once. But yeah, the rating system for items isn't terribly great.

I am seriously addicted to this game!
There is SOOO much depth here. It really is a perfect mix of needing skill & strategy.
Like the original portal game, half the fun for me was finding creative ways to beat the stage, in Dungeon Defenders there is no one way to beat a stage, there are hundreds especially when you start mixing the towers of various classes.
But then for each class you build your characters stats custom. Are you a tower build? A hero build? hybrid?
What about looking for rare loot, what about upgrading your equipment, what pet do you want to use? Using it for stats or for its ability.
Just so much to do and it doesnt feel like a grind to me. They made it easy to level and pretty easy to make money. So my challenge now is to build a character(s) strong enough to beat everything on Insane.
Been playing solo a lot lately because its more XP and money but any of you who play and are not on my steam list be sure to add your steam ID here I can add you and we can play sometime.
You can have 8 heroes I am going to have 2 of each class, one a hero build and one a tower build. I will have a character for every situation -
Sweet, we should group up. Most groups I have been apart of do not have patience to switch between fighting and tower characters.
-
I only have a single character to play with.
Mostly fighter spec with some extra points into towers. -

I usually build with my pure tower squire and then play with my low lower level monk or apprentise to level them or with my Huntress for dps.
I am going to respec my hybrid huntress to pure dps soon because there are a few challenges I want to beat for rewards that I should be able to solo if I can do a bit more damage.
I like support monk a lot but I think he has a lot of poential as a hero spec so probably going to make a 2nd monk and see how well he does on the insane challenges like monster fest. -
Played Squire to 44 and Huntress to 70 - the former is a bit OP from lower levels and very useful in games to setup good defence, the latter can be ridiculously overpowered damage dealer once they get penetrating shot and a good weapon.
Most I've seen from the Appentice is Overload + Manabomb for some insane AoE damage, the monks have been mixed I've seen some reasonable utility and damage from them and I guess they are great tactical addition at Insane. -

Brought this after seeing Vicious' review and it's just amazing. They balanced it perfectly and the graphics are just beautiful. I see Vicious seems to not need sleep or food as he's always on it
Wouldn't mind getting a 4 man team going, one of each class. I play Huntress hero spec and rarely use my traps as I think other classes turrets are just more efficient (Squires turrets are just boss). Btw, I'm lvl 21. anyone in? -
I'm currently level 12 apprentice (have a level 25 squire too).
-
I am sending my last two college apps tonight, I'll be on a bit later. Maybe we can group up.

How to solo Glittering Caverns

Next is how to solo Ramparts probably as thats a good map to farm mana & xp before you are strong enough for Glittering Caverns. -
Vicious, do you post-commentate, or do you do live commentary?
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Always live commentary.
Post commentary is good for some things but its not as natural. -
Bumping the thread. I really would like a solid group of people to play with. My ranked account is same as my forum name. Right now, I'm about to get my tower squire to 70, and have been powering up my other characters by soloing Glittering Caverns(thanks to Vicious' guide, naturally!). Gotta say, it's an amazing way to do it if you have a decently levelled squire
I'd like to tackle the halloween challenge on insane and some of the others as well, like Summit. Add me and let's play! -

Ahh yeah that guide was pre-patch (before the squire nerf) I came up with a new way for post patch (and for harder difficulty)
Dungeon Defenders Tutorial & Guide: How to Solo Glitterhelm Caverns on INSANE - YouTube
I'll be making a video for how to solo The Summit on insane soon and then probably taking a small break from DD videos to play some other games. -
As I don't have high level characters other than the squire, I haven't been able to do as much just yet. I can pretty much get to the last wave on hard, but those red ogres just tear me apart(unless I hop on my squire).
I took a few days off grouping with people to solo stuff and managed to pick up a really nice Hi5 and Rapier. Definitely makes playing a LOT easier. Btw, which set of gear would you recommend for tower squire? -
All right, where the hell does steam put the user manual again? And which button for chat? It isn't even a choice in the control options yet I see people typing in.
