    average 7.4/10 aka a B

Not sure why every game that comes out has to be 10/10 game of the year worthy. BF5 is a good game and far from a flop...

edit and just cause 4 did even better

    7.9/10 not 7.9/100

and shadow of the tomb raider scored even better still.

edit or are you referring to sales

Pretty sure op is referring to sales of the game than the actual game itself.

Bethesda Scammed Me. Fallout 76 Nuka Dark Rum.

How Bethesda Stole $100 From Me!! - Fallout Nuka Dark Rant

    DreamcastGuy
    Published on Dec 26, 2018
"Bethesda just cant stop screwing up but charging me $100 for a piece of PLASTIC is so angering that it feels like a whole new level of terrible business practices! Let's rant about Nuka Cola Dark and talk to Doug Money about why he made this!!

Alright… this isn’t going to win me any fans, but I think someone in the Fallout community needs to say it. Nuka Dark is insulting. It is symbolic of a big rusty nail in the coffin of the Fallout franchise.

What do I mean by that? Fallout is bigger than ever. Its games are incredibly popular and review really well. That’s kind of the problem. Bethesda has taken a Disneyesque approach to branding. The focus is not on Fallout, the video game, it’s on Fallout the Lunchbox, Fallout the doll and yes… Fallout the dark.

Let’s talk about Nuka Dark rum. It is an $80, 750ml bottle of dark with 35% content. Shipping costs extra, of course. It comes in a plastic Fallout 4 Nuka Cola bottle. They couldn’t even spring for glass.

For comparison, spending $80 on anywhere else gets you a 16-year aged dark rum shipped in a straw-lined pine box. The Star-Trek 10-year bourbon (from the same company) preordered for only $60. That’s pretty telling."

It's almost like Bethesda is playing a Call of Cthulhu scenario with themselves.. I've never seen something transition from going so well to outright disaster so quickly outside of some CoC themed tabletop game..

With Fallout 76, all I could see is one of my favorite developers digging their own graves.. It is just one disaster after another. Some people have already speculated that all this backlash would deter Bethesda from making another Fallout title, gosh, I really hope that won't be the case. Fallout is one of my favorite franchises, I really hate seeing it in this state.

I only wish Bugthesda would give someone else to develop Fallout, namely Obsidian, though I doubt Obsidian would accept to develop it again after what happened last time...

Have you had a look at Skyrim, Trystan, as I enjoyed FO4 and was hoping for a FO5 the same way you were it sounds. If you haven't it is pretty good and I'm many hours/days in and still havent explored the entire world or finished the main storyline.

I also agree with you about FO New Vegas, I did the whole game but didn't like it anyway near as much as FO4 and wouldn't bother to do a rerun where I've done at least 3 of FO4 :D

Each to their own I guess :)

I have not tried Skyrim yet. I might, although, I am not really much of a fan of fantasy settings. I prefer being able to use guns and whatnot.

I absolutely enjoyed all Fallout games :) Played the living daylights out of them, did multiple playthroughs and re-runs. xD Until now, I am still not yet done with them xD

Shadow of the Tomb Raider (SOTR) is normally-priced on Steam right now, but IMO it deserves a discount.

I finished playing through it. Graphics-wise, the game looks phenomenal, especially at 4K. But I didn't like the game based on playing previous TR games. The tomb design is inconsistent - I had to YouTube a bunch of them because I couldn't figure out what to do, where I never had a problem in prior games. When I did find the solution, it was usually followed by a head-shake and thinking "really?".

I had issues with the gameplay as well. It wasn't clear to me, for example, how far I needed to swing on a rope, how far I needed to jump, etc in many instances. It wasn't intuitive like in previous TR games. It became a trial-and-error approach, which is demeaning as a player. Dispersed throughout the game, these situations were a consistent source of frustration for me.

Perhaps, above all, in previous TRs I cared about the plot and followed it. The plot seemed like an afterthought in SOTR. The events in the storyline were weakly connected and created no real sense I was working towards something. The ending was unimaginative and rushed.
Also, where was all the combat in this game? It was spaced too far apart. I didn't use weapons often enough to notice how the weapon upgrades helped; I didn't care about what weapon I was using. Last, the skills you could get/upgrade to were mostly worthless and I didn't care about those either, unlike previous TRs.

We're still waiting for that RTX ray tracing patch for SOTR, too …

Bethesda Just Banned a TON of Fallout 76 Players
    JuiceHead
    Published on Feb 18, 2019
Today we take a look at some news around Fallout 76. Over the weekend Bethesda banned a ton of Fallout 76 players, reportedly for having had in excess of certain 100,000 items in a 30 day period. Bethesda identifies this as a potential indicator of duping or abusing a duplication exploit. Many users at the end of this ban report it being done in error.

Instead of wasting time with this mess of a game, they should have focused on a new proper singleplayer fallout. Why must everyone go with the mmo theme nowadays...

It's all about the cash, and microtransactions payout longer and better if you can run a multiplayer "gambling den" / "battle royale" suckering players into a "never-ending game" vs selling a single transaction "product in a box" single player game.

That is the reason for the demise of great single player games with great stories.

And how we ended up with "Fallout 76" with no NPC's and no stories.

Looks like we're stuck in a bad time period. Single player games are dying off and the multiplayer games just aren't good enough.

As long as companies focus on how to not include a level in the finished product just to release it later as a DLC to hog some more cash, nothing good will turn up...

Inb4 removed and moved to Epic.
I also wonder if it will require a Bethesda Launcher to be ran as well, like Ubisoft games on Steam function.

Bethesda what have you ever given us....lol

we got quite a few games from them that were triple a and I don't see why people complain that they took a risk and it flopped.....so what all in all they are a golden publisher

I don't like that their games are getting more simplified and gear to more casual gamers with each new iteration though. I mean look at the complexity of Morrowind, vs the simplicity of Skyrim. Not to mention the "dragon-everything" that suddenly existed in skyrim. Skyrim was still a great game, just seemed alot more dumbed down for a wider audience. Same with Oblivion but to a lesser extent.

Pretty much every IP these days though.

I don't understand the hate for TR, that last one was a solid heap of fun imo. they keep messing with the character design across the entire reboot franchise but it's a solid game. Fallout is all sorts of funky. I'm stil trying to get my hands on a cheap BF V key :) anyone know where the best place to pick one up?
