Images scaled down to relive the host of image pressure, also FPS will somehow not show in pictures, neither does dialogue.

What driver version are you using? I have 175.63 and after installing and authenticating I was getting problems when I set my graphics option in game. I'm currently looking for the best driver to use for my G1S as I am going to Afghanistan for 3 months this weekend. Thanks

FPS at those settings are always 35+, lowering physics, ambient and shadows gives me another 10 FPS.

As seen in picture #2: 180.42 can be found here: Laptopvideo2go forums

Crysis looks better than Farcry 2, but hell.. who cares if the system cant even run the game? gameplay wise, Farcry 2 is miles better, and its still has top notch visuals!

anyways, thanks Ubisoft, atlast you did a decent game!

As for the gameplay I have to say I like parts of it, while others seems a bit off, first off, people don't die very easy and headshots don't one hit one kill (come on, I put a AK round in his head, at worst I should see some death reflexes from his foot...), this being on normal, a big minus if you ask me, secondly, the game is rather... Predictable, both in storyline and gameplay.

Thirdly I'm the kind of player who just gets lost in sandbox style gaming, so I've been a bit "meh" on that part, however I have to say other then those points it's a excellent game!

About 10-15 fps at certain areas.

A program for simple DX and OpenGL FPS show overlay, some old C code I had lying around.

Pretty much, however explosives and the flame thrower are great weapons.

    Speaking of flames...

No, there are no FPS drops with that amount of flames, ratting out your enemies with fire is actually a great tactic, just make sure to have gasoline in the flame thrower.

So far I get 50Fps + with everything set to ultra high at 1680x1050 with 2xAA. The game looks amazing. Its not crysis just yet but then again it runs much better.

yep thats on the 9800GTX. Its not perfect 60fps but its a steady 50. Its still very playable. I m using 178.13 drivers, I m not sure what u can do with the newer ones, but I m gonna wait for some opinions before installing those.

yeah I d rather loose that 10fps for now and wait for a stable release.
So far the game is very fun to play with but I finished Crysis two days ago so I still have that taste of almost photo-realistic graphics.

Well, I use the 180.42 drivers and I can't say I've noticed any issues, but I have a 8600M GT and no SLI so I can't vouch for SLI users or 9xxx users.

so at 1680x1050 without AA I get super steady 60fps. With AA turned to 8x I get 35-42fps. I have to say with 8xAA that game just shiiiinnneesss. So beautiful :)

Need to try and reach your overclock speeds. Any settings etc, that might help? Ive followed some tips on changing registry settings to properly overclock the card. Cheers

    8400GS - 720x480 2xAA

runs great, looks better than 1280x800 no AA and runs 2x faster

the most refreshing thing about it is that there isnt any bright green foliage, weapons actually feel realistic and the settings is believeable

the car fixing animation though...had me laughing (ive changed exhaust header gaskets before)

not sure how things like that increase realism, i wont spoil it but its quite silly

also there's no minimap or compass hud on the screen, the minimap missing is GOOD but the compass missing SUCKs because you have to look at the map just to figure out which way you're heading, is there a way to turn on the compass on the hud?

edit: there's no hud at all as even the ammo counter disappears if you're not using the weapon actively

    sweet sounds good.

Wondering if it looks good during gameplay, and do you guys think it looks nicer or worse than say cod4?

good news about performance, in the long run im glad I own just a 8600m gt and didnt go overboard with spending extra money just so I could play a game called crysis..

are you serious? im running it on an 8400GS with 2xAA at like 40fps

anyways im really disappointed with the gameplay so far

the one thing that kills realism is that you cant interact with the environment; so far i havent been able to climb through 90% of windows (jump-crouch doesnt work)..***? and you cant kick in doors or open them in any way even though its a door to a mudhut that a 10 year old could kick in; im not even going to go into how you cant climb anything like a roof of a one-story house that would just be asking too much i guess? oh and you cant go prone unless i missed something? there's no control for it in the menu either

graphics dont mean anything if there's no realistic interaction with the environment when will designers get that?

Out of curiosity, what kind of clocks did you get to on your 8600M GT?
I got mine up to 600/850/1400 (core/mem/shader) on my macbook pro.

    P.S.

Don't know if it has already been mentioned, but if you use the beta 180.42 drivers for nvidia cards, you should get better fps in far cry 2. at download page it says:

Recommended for the best experience on Far Cry 2:
“Since we first began working on Far Cry 2 in early 2005, we have used GeForce GPU’s to develop the game and worked closely with NVIDIA’s excellent engineers. While Far Cry 2 represents an outstanding PC gaming experience for a wide range of systems, GeForce users can expect to enjoy the game quite literally ‘The Way It Was Meant To Be Played’.” - Louis-Pierre Pharand, Ubisoft, Far Cry 2 Producer

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

EDIT: it appears that this driver is only for GeForce 200-series, 9-series, and 8800-series desktop GPUs, so not laptops. But still, if you have one of those cards like i do, feel free to get it.

so far very impressed, great game so far... when i got the car running in the beginning, and then crashed the dang thing off the old wooden bridge, had to laugh... and went for a swim.

Fire is spectacular in this game, all in all very impressed. Got it running on my X205 with SLI 8600's at stock clocks, and at 1400x900 and DX10, it's running in the 50-60's FPS with a mixture of very high, high, and a few medium settings, no tweaking at all yet but looks good. Is VERY smooth, no stuttering or issues at all yet.

Definately a different look and feel than Crysis (and I do love Crysis as well), but impressed with Ubisoft on this one, and will trade a tad bit of detail for this good of performance.

Next, gonna load it up on my Tablet with the ATI HD3200 IGP.... not expecting much, but gonna try and see, will post results later. Crysis Warhead is very enjoyable on it, so curious how this scales on the low end.

Ok, it's totally playable and enjoyable on the TX2500 with the HD3200 IGP. It defaults to 1024x600 and low, and runs good. Haven't tweaked much, but was tinkering and bumped up some settings... seems that RealTree,Fire, and Physics on high didn't make much difference in the FPS, but made a nice improvement in how the trees interact and respond, and also bumped shadows one notch. Seem to be getting mid 20 to 30's FPS running through the woods and shooting at the safe house in the beggining. Feels and apears smooth, so no complaining. Impressed with how it runs actually.

As a side note, in starting different games for each laptop, they started me at difference places with a different initial boss. The first mission was basicly the same, but different setup and location, people, etc. So, started at a fish market once, and a meat market the second time.

EDIT: Just don't expect to crank up the graphics, not saying it works any miracles ha. But, for a 12" Tablet it runs, and runs well enough to be enjoyable and totally playable.... just a disclaimer

I just wanted to thank you. Far Cry 2 runs great on 180.42 drivers on my G1S. Everything on Med except for high physics, 1280x768x60 with around 35 avg FPS, rarely does it dip below 29. I played for about 3 hours straight without the slightest problem. If only I could now get Dead Space to launch.

I'm running Far Cry 2 in dx9 1440x900 at very high settings on my m15x (in my sig). No aa. I get some mild loading lag spikes but other than that it seems to be very smooth.
